This "Boombox" has a decent sound, especially with the extra bass feature. I wanted something compact to play cd's and listen to some FM stations. Very pleased.

After many months of searching, I finally decided to buy the Sony ZSRS60BT Boom Box as a gift for my wife who often listens to the radio and CDs while writing in a room that used to be a bedroom. My decision was based mainly on reviews on Best Buy and a couple of other websites. We have been using this device for about 3 weeks and my wife and I are very happy with it. This Sony fills the room with beautiful music regardless of what source we use. So far, all the CDs (including CD-R) that she has tired have played. I said that because a Sony CD player that we had a couple of decades ago could NOT play homemade CDs (on CD-R) or some commercially-available discs. This is NOT a problem with the ZSRS60BT. For the size and wattage of the speakers, the sound quality is very good, and volume is adequate for most kitchen-, dorm room and bedroom-sized rooms. We have used all the operations that are available except copying ("burning") CDs onto a USB flash drive. Everything, including the Bluetooth operations work as advertised. We were skeptical about this feature because it uses an older (2.1) format and our computers and tablet uses the newer 4.0 format. NO PROBLEMS! We can play mp3 and other sound files that our digital devices were playing through the Sony ZSRS60BT speakers, and their sound quality is very good. The reasons that I am rating this as 4-stars rather than 5 stars are: 1) the AM radio receptions does not seem as good as other radios that we have in our house (a minor point for most people these days), and 2) the price of this device seems to be a bit high (perhaps 20% too high) for something that is a couple years old. Bottom line; this is probably the best all-around portable system available for under $100. We are very happy with our purchase thus far.

Good quality, decent cd player, bluetooth works and radio is great. Good sound. I use it for my massage therapy practice where I need a nice clear sound especially with streaming music. Great purchase!

Nice small footprint with adequate sound for listening to music. Can be carried from room to room for your listening pleasure. Has blue tooth also, hence can connect other blue tooth devices like iphones, ipads etc. Also has a USB port to connect external devices. I wish it came with a clock and an alarm - would have been perfect for bedside table.

Pretty solid and the sound is decent for the price. I was expecting a bit more volume as it is a Sony and twice the size of a smaller, portable JBL speaker. The bluetooth is a nice to have and happy to have the ability to play cd's again.

Bought this for my daughter who likes to actually have cds and not just digital music. I like that it plays cds but also has bluetooth connection to play music from her iphone/ipod. That is one reason we got it. Small and portable, I can take it outside to the back deck or another room of the house to easily listen wherever I want. Sound is OK for something this size, adequate for what our needs are and probably better than the very cheap cd players out there that I refused to purchase. It can run on battery also, so in case of emergency that's good to have to run AM/FM radio.

Sound is better than the other Boombox on the shelf with the same size. It lacks bass but sound is clear. Volume is enough for a regular bedroom size, It is Portable with regular batteries. It has a Bluetooth option to play from your phone. If you want something basic this would be it. If want something louder with bass you will need to spend more.

THE SONY BOOMBOX HAS ALMOST EVERYTHING ONE MIGHT WANT IT EASILY PLAYS AM-FM RADIO WITH DECENT RECEPTION-CD'S (BOTH WAVE AND MP3 TYPES) AND USB DRIVES FOR ENDLESS RUNS OF MUSIC OR TALK PODCASTS AND IN AND OUT PUTS PLUS BLUE TOOTH.. ITS HANDLE TUCKS AWAY NEATLY WHEN NOT BEING MOVED AND ITS SOUND QUALITY IS GOOD FOR ITS SPEAKER SIZE AND IT HAS A VERY NICE STURDY BUILD. I WOULD ADD ONLY TWO THINGS TO MAKE IT EVEN BETTER. FIRST A REMOTE CONTROL WHICH IT IS MY GUESS IT LACKS BECAUSE OF ITS LOW PRICE AND THE ABILITY TO RECORD FROM FM RADIO BROADCASTS. (IT CAN RECORD TO THE USB DRIVE FROM CD'S. OVER ALL IT IS A GOOD BUY. I BOUGHT 7-AN OLD HABIT WHICH ALLOWS ME TO REPLACE A UNIT AND NOT HAVE TO REPAIR IT. BUT IN THE CASE OF THIS SONY I DO NOT EXPECT TO DO MUCH REPAIRING

I bought this radio for my teenage daughter. It checked off all her requirements like Bluetooth, CD player, Radio etc. and had a good price. It sounds good and is easy to use. The small size is perfect for her needs.

I’ve been using Sony brands for years because they are a good brand. This little boom box has everything I needed. It not only plays your CD’s but records your CD’s to a USB drive, or plays audio from a USB drive. The speakers are decent and has a good sound. It has plenty of features that I’ll not be using. The only negative is that you cannot use your Bluetooth ear buds with it. I had to buy a little transmitter that you plug into the headphone’s Jack to be able to use my Bluetooth ear buds. Presently, I’m recording my entire audio Bible of 80 discs on to a USB drive so I can listen to it while I drive. I’m halfway through and this little boom box is still going strong with no hiccups. I have not regretted the purchase for a moment and I highly recommend it.

Got this Sony boom box for my 10 year old as he loves to play music. It has a CD player (so he has access to several hundred in my collection), as well as AM/FM radio, and a USB port. I like the fact you can make your own conversion of customized songs from cd to memory stick through USB. Have not tried it yet, but I am sure it will be used. He can also Bluetooth from a phone or other portable device to use it as a speaker system. The sound is decent for its size. The bass is a bit lacking, even with the mega bass button on, at least through speakers, but I guess that is what you get with this size. There are no other tone controls. It is portable and can run on either the supplied A/C plug or through 6 C batteries (a bit much for my ten year old to carry now, but good to know he can if he had to). No alarm clock function either which would have been nice. Overall, for the price and intended use, it works fine and my son loves it. Plenty of power to fill the room.

It's got it all: USB, Bluetooth, line in, radio and CD inputs. The unit is very well assembled and the sound quality is surprising. Crispy clear sound with resounding bass. It is currently the only CD Player I have in my home and I also have a turntable attached to it. It sure can't drive a party of pumping sound, but is definitely a go for everyday needs.

I've had several cd player/boomboxes in the $30-40 range, none of which performed very well or for very long. As I use it for work there were several specific features I needed. Sturdiness of construction seems excellent. Quality of sound exceeds expectations, even including the higher price tag. Lots of handy features, good bluetooth, small footprint. If it performs for this level for a year then breaks, I will consider it worth the outlay and probably buy another.

Very good sound for a boombox. Recommend it if looking for something that won't break the bank and/or is portable. Simple to operate. MegaBass nice feature - it's not a subwoofer, but does add to the bass.

Early days yet, but so far I'm totally happy with this SONY model. Sound quality, reception for radio stations I like, and ease of use overall has made this the best "boombox" I've had in a very long time!

I needed a way to play MP3s for my mother while she is in the skilled nursing facility after a severe stroke. The playback had to be randomized and needed to run completely un-attended. The only workable solution that I had been able to find was to get a laptop and go through all of that hassle. We did not have any iPods or anything similar to hook up to a speaker docking station. Also, it had to have real speakers since ear buds or headphones would be completely out of the question. After describing my needs to the Associate at my local BestBuy, he found this Sony unit to try out. It is almost the perfect solution to my needs and it works great. The sound quality is very good and Mom is very pleased. I do wish that it had more control over the bass and treble, but it is really pretty good as it is. The radio portion is an added bonus, but not needed for this particular application. Highly recommended.

We wanted a compact boom box that could run off batteries since our CD player in the car died and we were heading out on a long trip. The CD played without skipping even though the vehicle was in motion. The volume is plenty loud enough under most circumstances, but in the car, while driving, we needed it louder than we would normally run it to overcome the noise of the road. The radio worked well in our hotel room. The Bluetooth is a nice feature although we haven't used it yet. I thought I could pair it with my Bluetooth headphones but that didn't work, so Bluetooth must only be for playing back from a smartphone or other input device. My only complaint about it is the location of the power button. It's on the top and very easy to accidentally turn it on without realizing it.

This boombox is just what we needed and it works great. I listen a many books on CD while I work and this one has sufficient volume that I can hear it in the kitchen from where it sits in the living room. The added attraction for this particular model is Bluetooth. Now I am able to play all the music on my iPad and iPod through the boombox. I love this feature. Also the AM/FM radio actually works in our house which has a metal roof and metal siding. This was not true for my last boombox.

Really enjoying this compact CD player. Fits nicely into space we wanted. Great sound, easy to use. Able to play our CD's, Radio and music on our phones with Bluetooth. Wife loves it. One negative, does not power off completely. Goes into standby.
