Seeking aural Goldilocks

This is a big, solid piece of equipment. It completes the bass in the aural picture presented by my 5.1 system, which is otherwise comprised by Polk T series bookshelves and a center channel. I’m running it all off a mid-range Sony receiver. The air-moving lows are impressive though you need a dash of volume to bring it out. It’s takes a bit of practice finding the sweet spot between the right gain against the ideal frequency roll-off, I’m not thrilled with the prospect of constantly getting out of my chair to adjust the SW depending on the genre of music or what’s best for my movie. More looking for a set it snd forget it goldilocks setting. But for the money I’m happy as a clam playing with my new toy. My 15 year old self is blown away by spatial audio and surround-sound in a home theatre.

Great boom! Def gives the rumbles when needed and sound is great. Not too big of a box either. The only issue I had is the cord to the receiver is kind of short.

Worked seamlessly and instantly with my Sony TV!

This was the easiest setup I ever did. yes it is a wired unit, which I like, (with others this may be a deal-breaker). My Sony TV has really nice sound (and the room is small) so I am very happy with the acoustic screen sound BUT I wanted deep end rumble. I did not want to get a sound bar or other setup so I found this. My TV has a dedicated headphone/subwoofer output to all I had to do was plug the sub into it and set the output to "subwoofer". Then all I had to do was adjust the volume and bingo it was all set. it sounds great and works perfectly. It even has auto-shutoff which is cool too.

As I was purchasing this for a secondary set up my expectations were set low as my main system featured Bowers & Wilkins and Velodyne. After hooking it up I was impressed with the room filling clarity produced from the modest 10" woofer and smallish cabinet. It doesn't have the usual muddy boom that cheap subs generally produce but a tight, responsive bass that I have come to expect from more expensive units. I like the auto-off feature but it has an irritating habit of turning itself off in the middle of a show only to come on abruptly when the action picks up. For the price, it has been a wonderful addition and I would highly recommend.

My new Sony receiver was not compatible with my older subwoofer, so I purchased this and it's a dream. Powerful, great bass tones, overall I am very happy with this. I plan to get another one since my new receiver supports 2 subwoofers!

So far , so good. Setup was easy, and operating it was very easy. My only points of improvement would be; * Give an option to get a much longer connection cable; * Make it easier to find the manual. Great Product, look forward to using it more.

Sony - Core Series 10" 115W Active Subwoofer

This subwoofer brings the boom! So much that my Wife thought it was thunder, lol! I adjusted it through my Sony Home Theater system. There is a slight delay when going from a quiet to loud sounds in a movie, but is acceptable because you get power savings when it's not in use. I bought this when it was on sale, but it would still be a solid choice at full price.

Good sounds, though the Bass can be a bit muted at times. Though I live in a tiny home so overall it makes great Bass. Sounds like thunder

Overall this speaker brings the bass needed for that movie theater feel and doesn’t take up a bunch of space. Comes with a built in amplifier and cross over to tune the speaker.

I’m familiar with the Sony line of speakers. I had previously bought a Sony subwoofer and set of bookshelf speakers several years ago. Same sized sub as this one. Only difference is this is seems to be a little less powered. While it has great bass and response and is a great product and prices right, the older one seemed to be a wee bit better. But that could’ve just been because it was already broken in and this new one wasn’t. Having been 6 months, this newer sub is sounding incredible. More bass depth than my old Sony sub. Better priced too! I still kick myself for not buying a second one.

Sony SA-CS9 Subwoofer - Outstanding

The Sony SA-CS9 Subwoofer works fine in my bedroom. It was easy to setup in a couple of minutes. My Vizio Sound Bar lacked the bass quality on its highest setting. The Sony Subwoofer completes the lower frequency sound for a good bass feel. The price was great for such a high quality item. I recommend Sony products anytime.

I bought this for the garage and it sounds great. I set it up in a hurry and was disappointed the next day. I adjusted the receiver tone controls the next day and it did not disappoint with the sound. The stick on foot pads are cheap for what this cost, but the sound makes me forget about those 2 cent micro foam pieces. I listen to classic rock and blues while working in the garage and it is very enjoyable now. Bought on sale.
