I went to my local BB to get replacement speakers for our main entertainment system as the old ones finally were done with. I didn't know what I was going to get, but I knew how much I wanted to spend, at least ballpark-wise. After looking at a few options, a BB Representative came to assist me and pointed out these speakers and their great sound. I then compared them to models that cost about $100 more for a set and these blew them away. The real test is getting them home and hearing them in my space. Even better. I'm not an audiophile by any means, but I know when something sounds good. These are awesome. I would buy them again.

I bought these to use with the receiver from my HTIAB. They were a lot bigger than i expected but are working really well. Clarity is so much better than my old speakers. Hooking them up is easy but make sure you have the space as they do require some real estate. Bought them on sale for $74.99 and they were a steal, using 2 as surround sound as well.

I am not alone in saying this these Sony Core series speakers are awesome. Great bass mid and highs for 5" speakers. My application was a 40 year old Technics SL-D2 turntable running thru a new HiFi Stereo Bluetooth 5.0 Vacuum Tube Amplifier and I needed speakers for this Standalone system. Best Buy always has great deals on electronics but these speaker on "open box excellent condition" special were under a 100 dollars and sound perfect. Strongly recommend these Core 5"series 3-way speakers, they make my old vinyl records sound great.

I bought these for a music setup with a receiver and these two speakers. The stereo sound through my Sony receiver is extremely clear with solid lows for a bookshelf speaker. For the price, I couldn't beat the sound quality. They don't distort at high volume either. Great buy.

I'll start this review by saying I do own several Sony products, and I love them, but I went into speaker shopping with an open mind. I initially wanted to purchase the more expensive Klipsch speakers, but after hearing them in store, the Sony core series stuck out. They are a mid price point, but punch at a higher level. The sound is warm, even from my nearly ten year old Insignia receiver. I wasn't expecting much being bookshelf speakers, but I put them through their paces and they performed very well. Even at high volume, the tone stayed true, lows didn't distort, highs didn't peak. I can't wait to get some floors, maybe a center, and a subwoofer from this series. The removable grills make sure our cats can't "redesign" the mesh.

All I can say is wow. I have these as rear channels in a 5.1.2 setup all Sony cores and it is great for my use. I am almost all movies and TV and I can't say enough good things about these speakers. The value to quality is ridiculous. If you catch a sale on these speakers grab them you won't be disappointed.

Sony comes through again. Small yet great sounding speakers. I have a small space so need speakers that won't overwhelm the space. Both visually and sonically. These fit the bill. The ported bass really delivers. Oh it's not thumping but it definitely comes through.

I needed some bookshelf speakers for a vintage turntable and receiver I had restored. These work perfectly, very good sound, good value for the price.

I bought these speakers to replace some that I got rid of. I hooked them up to my receiver and the sound was as good as my old Pioneer 3-way floor speakers that were 4 times the size. I would definitely butbruem again! They would definitely work as part of a surround sound system.

I bought these after Christmas and still on sale for $75 for a beginner's audio system for listening to my vinyl. They sound great and are worth the $75, but I would not have paid full price even though I'm a die hard Sony fan. Actually, I won't pay full price for anything unless I absolutely have to. I am not an audiophile, but my son is and he thinks they are great for a starter system. They do not fill up a huge room, though. I have a big area and high ceilings and they didn't blow the walls apart. I didn't want them to do that, anyway. Ultimately, I bought a pair of Wharfedale's that I got a great price on and moved these to my surround sound. Holy moly, what a difference in my TV experience with these. I am waiting for them to go on sale again to get 2 more for rear speakers. I replaced my almost 8 year old speakers from a Sony 3D surround sound system.

Great sound for the size of the speakers along with an affordable price so I have two pairs.

Great little speakers to go along with my So y head unit. Low cost and well built. We opted to do a wired Sony reciever after trying multiple sound bars. The sound is full and clear without any connectivity concerns.

These speakers I tried out as front speakers and for a small-medium room on my Sony 145 watt/channel, these do a great job. The first thing to realize is these aren't going to shake the windows with bass at all. So if you like bass get a sub to compliment these. A 5" woofer, on pretty much any speaker, is just not physically capable to delivering bass that a 10" sub could produce or higher. The high/mids on these shelf speakers are pretty awesome and far and away bested my older Panasonic home theater system I paid $500 for years ago. These are definitely gifted with high quality mid/high drivers that will bring out more nuances/sounds from music/movie than el cheapo speakers and more sound bars. The stereo stage with these is also extremely impressive and something that was readily noticeable when I first hooked them up. To put it simply, these are superb bookshelf speakers that sound far superior than what their price point might suggest they should sound like. And cranking the volume up on these is no problem and Ive noticed the disrtotion I had in my older speakers for same music/movies is not there in these speakers. I'm not a audio expert but it may just be the higher quality drivers used and the power rating on these is higher. I would highly recommend these...

These speakers sound great to me!! I bought two pairs of them and are using them with my vintage Realistic STA-42 receiver. There's enough bass/ mid/ highs. These are crisp enough and NOT TOO crisp to become annoying.

The sound is great. Easy to install. Great sound separation. Lots of volume from small box means I get very good sound without taking up a lot of shelf space. Highly recommend these speakers for anyone looking for excellent sound quality using minimal shelf space.

Upgraded my HTIB to the Sony Core Series. What a great speaker. They sound amazing, were an amazing price. The only drawback, which it really isn't, is there is no way to mount these. You have to use a stand or bookcase. I knew that going in, but for some people, it could be an issue. Overall very pleased with these.

Great speakers for the start of my HiFi jouy. Good value.

Great sound, easy to set up, haven't had any problems with them after over two years of use. Perfect if you want to upgrade your entertainment audio without breaking the bank.

These bookshelf speakers have the heft and look of quality. They have fantastic sound that belies their size. I am using them as "high" speakers in my audio setup, and the perform well beyond my needs.

I originally purchased these bookshelf speakers to use with my home computer, but before taking them upstairs for that purpose I decided, out of curiosity, to do a direct A - B comparison with the Elac Debut 2.0 bookshelf speakers I already own and am using for music listening and for home theater. I'm not going to say that the Elac Debut 2.0 speakers sound terrible by any means, but I can tell you that these Sony bookshelf speakers produce a better overall sound to my ears. I can hardly believe these little speakers can produce such an impressive and immersive sound stage. The other thing I find amazing is the tweeter because it manages to be so clear and so beautiful even at higher volume levels. I simply can't believe the quality of sound these produce. Best speaker purchase I've made so far!
