It works just fine as expected. I used it to capture all what was said at a meeting and it helps me to write the minutes from the meeting.

We purchased this device for capturing audio at a wedding. It picked up every sound that we needed it to without the background noise.

Very easy to use, however would be nice to be able to change the name of the file as opposed to having each coded by date and time.

My children love listening to their grandfather tell stories. We are going to try to record them for posterity. The recorder seems easy to operate, great for grandpa.

I absolutely loved this voice recorder. I used it for my college courses to record my lectures. I set my recorder on the podium in front of my professor and the sound is very clear. I also recorded from my desk which is still clear but also picks up on all other sounds around you (people typing, pages flipping, etc). Was able to pause during breaks then resume. Pop out USB made it easy to plug in to car to listen to lectures on drives or save to my computer.

I purchased this recorder to do journalistic interviews and found it to be particularly easy to use and even easier to transfer the recording to my computer so that I could then send it out to be transcribed.

It picks up things I may miss in a lecture while writing notes in class. Im grateful to have such a product which can easily be used on my computer and archived!

I use this recorder to record my school notes and listen to them on my commute to school. The built in USB makes transferring the material onto my iPod very easy.

I was surprised by the clarity of the recording. It comes with software downloadable from SONY. Software is very easy to use and basic for managing the recordings. This recorder accepts rechargeable batteries as well as primary cells. Primary cells provide very long duration compared to other SONY models. I still have to use it with an external mic. However, based on the performance I already seen from the built-in mics, I just expects better from this recorder.

I needed a portable recorder for my graduate research, and have been pleased with this product. The only drawback has been trying to understand all of the functions as the owners manual is rather brief.

My husband needed a digital voice recorder to use with a camera for making a short video. Everything worked the way it was supposed to and the audio and the video synced nicely with no problem.

Great clear recording. Just wish I could back it up just as far as I want to relisten instead of back in jumps.

The recorder is excellent for college. I am able to record lectures and put in date order and listen to them on my computer or off the recorder.

My last voice recorder used microcassettes so this was a vast improvement where it records in mp3. Sound quality is excellent. It also has a usb connector built in to plug into your computer. Easy to use. I haven't used all of the features which are plenty so can't review on that but if you're looking for a voice recorder with add on memory and usb connector then this is probably the cheapest one to get.

I bought this voice recorder for medical reasons. I had sleep apnea at one time and needed to find out if I still snore at night to confirm it had been cured. The ICDPX440 has many great features, but the one I love the most is the Voice Activation. The internal microphones are sensitive enough to pick up any sound in the room, including my dog scratching, but when there are no sounds, the recording shuts off. I can find out in 2-5 minutes if I made any noises during the entire night's sleep!

Made taking notes easier during my class lectures. I could just listen over and over until I had them completed when I was home.
