I use this for all of my lectures in school. I am a nursing student and the sheer volume of work/lectures can be overwhelming. this recorder has helped me beable to go back and listen to lectures to make sure i did not miss something and i can follow along with all of the many powerpoints that i have to study from. I can even hook this up in my car and play it thru the car speaker system so I can review lectures while I am driving. It has helped me greatly with school, I only wished I bought this earlier.

I purchsed this primarily for an interview. I was conducting, but found out not only is it good for that, it makes for a great sound recorder for indie flms and web series. If you're shooting outside and need to record conversation or dialogue it works. I was also impressed with the ease of use and the features.

The product had many favorable reviews. I've used Sony products almost exclusively because of the quality and ease of use. This product has not been a disappointment in either of the aforementioned categories. I highly recommend the product especially for classroom or other controlled environments.

I love having this voice recorder when I'm traveling and need to leave myself little reminders, OR for use during meetings so you can easily go back and review!

I purchased this recorder for college. I use it to record all my lectures which helps me with my studys. The recording is ALWAYS crystal clear and has helped me make a smooth transition back to school. Love my recorder!

Got this for my son's music rehearsals, so he can record lessons and practice. Sound is clear. Works great. But it's hard to navigate the menu to delete, create new folders, etc.

I like this product, it's very nice for the price. Easy to use, you can put different tapes in different folders. Can't name the folders but oh well. The files transfer easily to my computer, the buttons are nice and big. There is one downside, it auto plays-back when you stop it from recording. I guess it's so you can listen and make sure it's all right but sometimes I want to stop and check it in class, it has pretty loud playback so that's kinda annoying. Overall I would recommend, it's a nice product

This is my first digital voice recorder and I have to say that I am impressed. I have been using it for just over a week now and I don't doubt that Sony makes durable electronics. I've never had any trouble with any Sony product that I have owned. I use it primarily to record my own notes to myself for my journal, i.e. a book that I am writing. It does seem to do a good job of blocking out extraneous noise. Ok, I may look like I’m talking to myself while I’m driving, that may be one downside. It came with a lot of extra features that I will use. You can attach the input to an .mp3 player and record songs or song clips. I will use this to make my own cell phone ring tones. Conversely you can attach it to your computer or your .mp3 player and listen to your recordings on your PC or on your .mp3 player. There actually are quite a few nice features that I wasn’t really expecting, since this is my first one, and I’m looking forward to using as many of them as I can. It is easy to use, pretty intuitive without having to look up how to use it. One thing I really like is that it actually came with a real User’s Manual, not just a .pdf file that you have to read on your PC or print on your printer. I find that to be unusual these days and I appreciate a real printed-on-paper User’s Manual. Another thing I like is that you can purchase an additional button-sized microphone to clip to your collar or to record phone conversations. Another nice feature is that you can add a Micro SD card to expand the amount of memory available or to back-up your recordings. I can’t really comment on the enclosed Sound Organizer software as I haven’t used it very much yet. My biggest dilemma was how I was going to carry it with me easily. Then I had a “lightbulb” moment when I set it down on my night stand one night next to my Glock. It fits perfectly in an Uncle Mike’s single magazine pouch attached to your belt. Then it’s always handy whenever I remember something that I want to record and write about. I don’t really have anything negative to say about this digital voice recorder. I wasn’t sure what to expect and I am very impressed with what it offers.

Picked this up to replace my iPhone for field interviews. Even with an external mic on my iPhone, the Sony has much better audio quality. It picks up highs and lows, and even handles background noise well. The folders offer enough options to help keep things ordered. You can change the folder names on your computer and they update on the recorder. At first I was annoyed at the UI, but not having a directional pad is a good space-saving design choice. Great audio quality, supremely compact, large built in memory, great price.

I bought this to help with my foreign language study. I've loaded MP3s for the various programs I do and the features I take advantage of are: - Ability to skip back a few seconds. While listening to audio in a foreign language, it's useful to be able to easily jump back and repeat the last few seconds to ensure I understood what was said - Ability to speed up and slow down the auido. Sometimes the speaker speaks too fast for me, but I can slow down the audio to understand what was said. Conversely, if I understand the audio, I would speed it up to get practice listening to the foreign language spoke at a much faster rate.

This easy to use recorder is awesome. Small, well made, long battery life, lots of recording space, good mic, power supplied to mic jack, connects to pc for file transfer. Good to the money. Love it.

I like it a lot and use it a lot. It does turn on and accidentally record when in pocket or purse. takes a few minutes to access before turning on. Has good sound quality and otherwise is very easy to use. lightweight and great capacity and can put a lot of memory into it. Transfers to computer easily. All in all, very fine useful product. Would like a case so it doesn't accidentally turn on.
