Not too heavy, compact, amazing zoom, has anti-vibration feature which allows for clear pics even when you have an unsteady hand. Extremely clear photos even when zoomed in all the way. Better than spending more money on the digital SLR cameras!

    Complicated, slow and inflexible

My old camera was a Panasonic 24x superzoom. When I saw the Best Buy sale price on this 50x superzoom camera, I decided to give it a try. However, so far, I've been disappointed. For the types of photos I take (primarily wildlife and scenery), this Sony camera is far more complicated, slow and yet inflexible than my Panasonic. The most irritating quirk from my point of view is how long this camera takes to switch between the wheel settings. I often like to take the same scene using iAuto, Program, Aperture, Speed and sometimes even Manual. I find that each of these modes has advantages in certain situations. Later, at my leisure, I can discard the one(s) I don't like. With this Sony camera, each time I move the wheel, it displays a screen describing the mode and apparently thinks I need lots of time to read/absorb that screen. In other words, it takes way too long to be ready to take the next photo. Imagine the frustration of having to wait for several of these screens while changing modes to get the range of photos desired. By contrast, with my Panasonic, I can turn, click, turn, click, turn, click, etc. almost as fast as you can read this sentence. Without spending a lifetime reading the manual, I may never figure out if (let alone how) I can set up this camera to mimic what I like about my Panasonic. So far, I haven't had much luck. Perhaps veteran Sony users will have an easier time getting the photos they want, but my bottom line is disappointment.

This camera was a great price for all the features! You'd expect a 20 megapixel camera to be bigger, heavier & more expensive but this is the perfect mix of everything you want

This camera seems to work great. It takes beautiful photos and is pretty easy to understand. My view screen was scratched, so the local store replaced the camera, which I appreciated. I'm not an avid photographer, but with young kids, I need a camera that can capture lots of shots before the kiddos move and this does that - up to 10 shots/second! My only complaint is that Best Buy bundled this camera with a memory card and a camera case. I appreciate the memory card, but the case doesn't fit the camera...when I showed the store they said, "Oh well - sorry - maybe you can use it for something else...what do you want, it's free!?" That was a bit jarring. However, the camera is great!

This camera does everything I need it to do. I am not a camera aficionado. I needed it to take better pics than the camera a had, wider angle pics that were clear.

The 20+ megapixel and 50X optical zoom make this a most diverse point and shoot without having to change lenses. The resulting photos have great color resolution.

This camera is a sensible choice for the amateur photographer wanting to shoot sporting evens and family shots, without having to read the manual. It is light weight for its features, and has video capability. Wish it had Bluetooth and Wifi to round out the package.

Not a pocket camera, but well balanced and easy to handle. A lot of automatic features to make it easy for beginners and a lot of manual features for experienced users (zoom, aperture, focus). Awesome zoom and quiet motor, HD video barely picks up. Great clear pictures even on zoom, good stabilizer.
