I got this camera for my mother because she wanted a camera for our trip to the Bahamas. This camera was great for what it was intended for. An easy to use point and shoot for someone who isn't as technologically advanced (no offense mom). She was able to take quilt pictures on the area and family along with my brothers graduation videos and pictures.

I use this camera for work and subject it to high heat, dirt, damp and heavy use. It is easy to use, takes great pictures and lasts an amazingly long time.

This digital camera by Sony is definitely one to own. It is small, light while providing a great picture qualify and capacity with a SD disk.

Small and lightweight, bought this for a trip to Washington DC. Worked well and was simple to use. Fit in a purse. Great pictures.

This camera was selected for a friend wanting a simple but good camera to include taking pictures of grandkids. This one had good reviews, was available at Best Buy (and with the best price) and seemed straight forward on setting up and using. The EASY mode seemed a plus. There are lots of other things it does, but one can bypass to simple operation. Also camera and pictures good quality.

I bought this for a mom who was going to be traveling for about a year. it was a great gift and will allow her to take great pictures even though it is a point and shoot.

Title: Actually it has a 5-MPixel quality. Actually the Sony DSC-W830 camera has its best quality at 5 MPixel, instead of 20 MP. I bought one (serial number = 1384720) and tested it with every mode in every possible illumination. I took photos, transfered them into my computer, then checked the photos at zoom 1:1 on the computer. I saw every 20-MP 4:3 photo has its every pixel in a 2pixel * 2pixel blur, also the global blurs is exactly a kind of noise. And 5-MP 4:3 photos are in the best quality: every pixel is effective, not blurred with neighboring pixels. That means the effective resolution is not 20MP but 5MP. Even in the best mode (5-MP 4:3), the photos are worse than those made by by Samsung tablet 8-MP CMOS camera, though W830 has a good night scene mode which the Samsung tablet camera doesn't have. I am going to return this item, though it has a better photo quality than Nikon S3700 which I also checked and returned. S3700's Wifi connection is useless for my Debian Linux systems. S3700 Wifi connection needs Nikon's own Android or Apple app, and only works as a hot-spot device.

Sony makes great cameras! Much easier to use than my last Sony. Not as many confusing settings. Small compact size too! Love it!

Great zoom features as well as some pretty cool effects like soft focus for great glowing skin in portraits and there is even a feature for pets to keep my dogs from looking all red eyed like the Hell Hounds in Ghostbusters. I love it.

I bought this camera for my 7 year old daughter. I like how it is easy to use. She loves the panorama option for photos.

I purchased this simply to have an easy to transport and easy to use camera for my classroom. I didn't want to drag an expensive camera and a huge bag to school events.

With it's 20+ Megapixels, the level of detail of the photos taken with the camera are great! the only downside is the zoom of the camera, it could be better!

the camara works really good The pictures are nice and clear. It's a backlight that help when taking night pictures. For the money this is a very good buy.

Wanted something easy to use and take a decent picture. This camera far exceeded that, by a great margin! Color and Clarity are far better than I ever hoped for, and since down loading to my laptop was a must, this machine could not have been simpler. Outstanding pictures!

We bought this cameras to take on a vacation to Italy. The idea was something compact and simple with no drama about complex features. Previous cameras proved to be complicated and prone to causing time consuming "how do I do this" distractions. Three weeks and 800 pictures later, it has been exactly what we needed. My wife was able to stick it into a small purse and pull it out quickly to take the shot. One issue...we were mistakenly led to believe this camera was wi-fi equipped for uploading. It is not. They do provide an easy to use upload s/w tool that worked fine with a USB connection.

Takes great pictures and it's small enough to fit in your pocket. Its easy to download pictures to the computer using the wire it came with. The flash works great. I'm still learning the many different settings. Overall vey happy with this Sony camera!

Non-expensive device but good pictures and some good functions, easy mode is good for non-expert person

Solid point and click camera but does not really take pictures that is better than camera phones today. The one real advantage it has over camera phones however, is the 8x optical zoom which is great because you are able to get a great amount of zoom with zero picture quality degradation. This camera is best suited for lit spaces and does struggle with digital pixel noise in dark photos. As for build quality, the camera is solid but is a bit plasticy and as a result feels cheaper than it really is. The battery last a long time I have taken as many as 50 photos with it over a few hours without actually challenging the battery. I imagine under any reasonable conditions the battery will hold up. In short, for the price it performs as well if not better than can be expected. If you have no use for optical zoom though you can get by with most modern cell phone cameras versus this product.
