We needed a camera at the last minute for a trip, and this one was inexpensive but great quality. Pictures are beautiful. It is a pocket-sized camera, so it is very easy to travel with. It is easy to use and has more features than we know what to do with. Great point and shoot. We will be using this camera for many years!

Many years ago I purchased my first Sony Point and Shoot camera. I still have it today and it takes great pictures and video. Then I was shopping at Best Buy and much to my amazement there in front of my eyes was a Sony Camera that looked like my old one, only with better specifications. I didn't need a new camera, as I already own several cameras, but I decided to give it a try. I ordered it and received it the same day, boy Best Buy ships faster than they used to. It arrived in a very small box (Like a Tiny-Box). I removed it from the box and there was this Tiny-Sony Silver Camera waiting for me to use it. I pooped it out of it's temporary cardboard home, read the instructions, slipped in the battery and the memory card. Turned it on and started snapping pictures for the next few hours. Well let me tell you the pictures and the videos look fantastic for such a small camera. It has a very simple on-camera control, but I needed to use it for a while before I could know all it's settings. To wrap up my review the Sony DSC W830 20.1 Megapixel Digital Camera takes nice-and-sharp pictures and videos for the price. You can take it with you anywhere you go, because of it's small size. On the other hand nowadays many high-end Smartphones have the high Megapixels, so some people may not want to use a second camera when they are out and about town. Although there are many advantages or taking a second camera with you. With the Sony you will have better control over picture settings and that could make-or-break your picture quality. Even though I own several professional SLR Cameras and a couple of Point and Shoot cameras I still want to keep my DSC W830 20.1 Megapixel Digital Camera. Enough said.

I bought this camera because I wanted a light camera to carry on the airplane and other travels. It is delightfully easy to use and I am quite pleased with the quality of the photos. I own two other digital cameras that because of their larger lenses etc are too heavy. I didn't mind loosing a little in range of choices because I was just planning to get photos of the grandchildren at play not a formal portrait. I really like the spontaneity of such a small and easily used camera.

I have lots of cameras, mostly large ones. This was picked for two reasons, its ability to produce top quality still and movie pictures in a very small package, and its very low cost. Hasn't let me down. Pix compare to those of far large and more expensive, bulky heavy units. Images in 7-8MP size range are tack sharp, too big to upload here though.

The only down side is that fact that small cameras like this no longer have a view finder. I have yet to find a camera that has a screen that you can actually see in bright daylight. Otherwise it is light and easy to use.

I am on my 3rd Sony camera of this model in 10 years. I shoot 100's of vehicle photos daily to post online for a Vehicle dealerships websites. I work this little camera hard shooting outside and inside close-ups in VGA mode, but sometimes in high resolution mode for car shows and portraits which are excellent quality . I can shoot a few hundred pictures on a single battery charge, then I remove the battery for recharge & memory card to download to my PC for editing and Website posting. Sometimes, I go out to shoot photos, without realizing that the memory card is still in my office. Not to worry. This camera model has internal memory which allows me to shoot without a memory card if i use the charging cord with USB to copy photos to my PC. Afterwards the photos on the camera must be deleted by the camera. It's lightweight, and the Zeiss lens makes the photos crisp and clear. I specifically chose this camera for its Zeiss lens. It makes a big difference. My only issues with this camera, are my inability to force the flash to fire inside vehicles in certain shots, but I have learned how to get the flash active in most needed shots by where I focus my shots. The other thing is the Flash memory card which has caused me to retire 3 cameras when the card no longer slides easily into it's slot. I would be very careful when reinserting the memory card to prevent damage, but camera can be charged and downloaded without removing battery or flash card if you use the USB cord. It's a great little camera that I would highly recommend for most general applications.

I bought this camera so I could take pictures from far away--my kid's graduation is held in a football stadium. I was able to get the great zoom I wanted, but I am a little disappointed with the shutter speed, as many action shots come out blurry. I'm still working on it, and hope to get the spec's tweaked just right, but it's been an issue. On the up side, the battery charges like lightning and the still shots are gorgeous.

Hi VeeArr, It is really nice to hear that you love the camera. We appreciate your input regarding how the camera can be better. You may set the camera to a fast shutter speed to take sports or action shot to get less blurry images. -Zander Sonystyle

This for me is an excellent camera. Out of the box I was using it in less than 5 minutes. Has very good picture quality. I like it's small compact size. The rechargeable batteries are a plus, and they had a full charge.

I bought this camera to replace my other Sony camera that was similar. The previous camera was having focus issues and it was only 3.5 years old. This camera was at a good price at $90 and has similar features so no big learning curve, but I hope it will last longer. I have not used it much yet. The only issues that I have seen so far, first, when I access the images after taking them, the camera takes about 5-8 seconds before it can show the picture. This is a lot longer than my older camera, not sure why. Second the pictures that I have taken indoors with the flash and even standing 10 feet away are so washed out, that I turned off the flash and then it took better pictures. Not sure if this is my problem or the camera's. Have not tried outdoor pictures yet. Hopefully this will be a decent camera. I like that it is small and can fit in my purse and I like the ease of transferring the pictures to my computer quickly. Because of the 2 issues mentioned I am giving it 3 stars.

I brought this for my sister for her birthday since her old one wasn't that great anymore. She has children, so she's always taking picture for all kinds of events. The size is small enough to fit in your pocket or purse and it's easy to use. The picture quality is good if from a normal distance, but not that great from afar even with the zoom. Maybe we still need more time to figure it out since I gave it to her a month ago. Pictures in low light areas were so and so, depending on how low the light is. It still a good camera just not for professional looking pictures that I think requires a more expensive camera. If you're just looking for a camera to just take pictures now and then and every little detail doesn't matter then I would recommend this camera. If you're a parent that needs to capture that special moment then I would recommend a different camera like Samsung Smart camera which is bigger but the pictures look great and so does the video. I will more likely invest in that one to give to my sister for Christmas.

Small easy to use camera. Easy to charge the battery as well. Only issue is if you have questions about cameras, the Geek Squad is not able to help much. I had some questions and no one at the store could help me, so they sent me to the Geek Squad and they couldn't help either. I guess not too many cameras are sold any more due to cell phone cameras.

I've barely owned a camera but this one was a good deal on Black Friday. It's cute and slim but I wish it came with a memory card. At first looking at the screen when u take a pic looks weird but once the picture comes it, it's really really good. I haven't used it cuz I don't have a memory card but once I do I'll ne taking tons of pics
