I purchased these hoping they would do a good job with conversation (so can't speak to the quality of music) while outdoors and I have not been disappointed. They do not block all ambient noise out, but the sound of whomever you are speaking to continues to come through loud and clean regardless of other surrounding noise. So again, for the price and what I'm asking them to do, they're excellent.
