I really do enjoy this lens but... I will say for the amount of many this lens cost you would think the distortion would be maintained a little better then what it produces in its images but overall i am satisfied with this lens.

Nothing else like!

An absolute brilliant piece of glass. At 2.8 this rectilinear lens meets all my needs and demands on any shoot where epic wide scenes are needed. There isn't another manufacture that makes a 12-24 at 2.8! So far it's taken everything I've thrown at it without having to worry about bowing edges even when I'm up closer to my subject. I previously owned the 12-24 G and this is definitely quite the upgrade. Better colors and the additional nano coating really cuts out flaring and haze that I saw on the non GM version. Not inexpensive but if you're a pro it'll pay for itself in no time flat!

It is expensive but its just amazing and honestly worth every penny. The auto focus is out of this world and the sharpness is incredible. There also isnt much distortion which is something you would see a lot with other wide angle lenses. I hope sony makes a 24-70 with similar specs because if they do I will buy it immediately.
