At first glance it would seem the laptop is quite good. However I've never wasted more money in my entire life. It is a lump of junk. Wifi is non-existent, to start some thing up is slow and most things you want it to do will not even load. Garbage

Within 2 weeks of purchase, laptop was exchanged for a different brand as it went black screen. .

So far it has been great, I just received and I have openened it, and used it and it is working great. I installed the virus software and it is doing everything smoothly. The laptop arrived pretty fast, there was a delay of 1 day because of a late UPS truck delay, but other than this it was in perfect condition and it is running awesome. I love the flip touch screen and the slimness as well as the smoothness of it.

This laptop is great. It is fast and light. It is extremely comfortable to use and the display is amazing. I can easily use it wherever I need. The battery is decently long and the design is great. Unfortunately, Sony's Vaio branch has moved to only producing laptops so I would grab these quick because they are of extremely high quality and I will miss them.

First off, don't bother with critics online, review stuff for yourself. This Sony Flip 14a has features you can not get close to for $1,000 and I Paid $549 with free shipping. First off its made of metal and its all black not silver. It has Intel WiDi a feature not talked about much. Best Buy Certified Refurbished arrived flawless, as good as new but in a white box very well protected. The Display full 1080p at 14 inches, is an IPS Display with Sony Triluminous which makes it the best Display on the Market next to a MackBook Pro with Retina display. Out of the Box You Must Run All the Updates, I suggest a Wired connection, The WiFi is a bit weak. There are ALOT of Updates. Also you MUST run the BIOS Update from SONY, this Updates any Hardware bugs the system might have and makes it run cooler. It has a N-Trig like Surface Pro 3 Pen digitizer display so you can draw on it like a Tablet. Finally a Free Update to Windows 8.1, after all the Updates the Machine is very fast Core i5 4200U operates at 1.6Ghz speed both Cores, But in High Performance, mode Both Cores can operate at 2.3Ghz but that gets hot and drains battery leave it on Balanced that way the speed is there when you need it. As an example you dont always drive your car by flooring the gas. Also if needed it can Turbo Boost to 2.6Ghz speeds. You are basically getting a $1200 system for $549 nothing else to say. Just make sure you run all the Updates Other systems Cost More and Give you Less features and quality

MS One Note and a digitizer screen takes note taking and integration to a new level with classes and work! The screen on this laptop is fantastic. Keyboard is adequate. One thing that does take a hit, due to the single channel memory, is the integrated GPU performance. But who buys an integrated GPU to game..... Also, Sony was very conservative with the thermals on this - throttling happens well under the limits. For what this laptop does do, it is a fantastic value at this price. Make sure and do the updates - most, if not all, of the issues people had with this laptop are addressed by them. Sony makes the updates easy with Vaio care. Also, adding an SSD will improve the experience. Easy upgrade to do on your own. Currently running windows 8.1 and Ubuntu 14.04 with out issue on a PNY Optima 240GB SSD.

I purchased this laptop with full awareness of the touchscreen issues many others have mentioned. If you're unaware, the screen picks up random, rapid inputs/gestures (most commonly on the right-hand side for me) which results in the laptop opening/closing programs, changing settings, and generally behaving like a crazy ghost is tapping around on the screen. I figured that the Geek Squad refurb and/or VAIO updates would remedy this issue, but they did not. Computer is completely unusable. When this laptop isn't acting possessed, it works great. Fast, responsive, great screen. I have high hopes for this laptop and will exchange it for another one in hopes that the replacement won't have this issue. If it does, I'll return it and move on to another device.

I was so impressed with this Laptop that I decided to buy another one. Most of the reviews on the new ones were terrible but the "Geek Squad " did a fine job and fixed all the bugs....!! Definitely download all of the updates as soon as you get it. Now it's the best laptop I have ever owned. The Screen is super amazing. Fast and multifunctional! as a tablet! I previously had acer aspire and since it was very heavy and huge, i decided to buy one portable laptop with good battery life, this laptops battery life is good up to 7 hours(have tested it). I like the windows 8.1 os its very tempting previously had windows 7, boot time is way more better than my aspire it takes like 15 secs. Display is the best, sound is ok..keypad is good as well..

only able to use a bit, but it seems good so far. the touch screen is awesome!! i feel spoiled.
