This is one of the best purchases that I have ever made. This speaker is incredibly loud both indoors and outdoors. I cranked this puppy up at a camp and walked accross the creek to see if I could still hear it. It was still crystal clear over the sound of the water. The bass is great too. Since it has an amazing battery, you don't need a power supply. I usually have buyers remorse when I spend a nice chunk of money on something, but not this time! The only imperfection I could find with this speaker is that the power button is to easy to bump on when I'm transporting it. Not a big deal when you become conscious of it though. I was going to buy two of them, but after hearing one, there is no need for a second.

ONLY 4 STARS DUE TO NO 3.5MM AUX INPUT, NO MOUNTING OPTION, AND PRICE First off, the speaker comes boxed styrofoamed on both ends wrapped in plastic, typical for this type of electronic piece. The speaker arrived pre charged right out of the box. Lights defaulted to on when it was powered on and it flashed with the music very nicely. The sound quality was crisp and clear with the bass boost also defaulted on. When the bass boost was turned off, the music became more natural and not so bass heavy. I do not expect to use the bass boost as it makes the sound more artificial. Many reviews state that the speaker is very large and heavy. It really is not that heavy and not that big. Compares to the weight and size of a full tower desktop computer. It may be heavy for some, but it is alright for me. The speaker has two handles, one on the bottom and one on the top. Would be better if the handles were on the side to carry it with better weight distribution. The power cord is short and is brickless. I have not tried the speaker at full volume, but it gets loud. Only setback is it has digital +/- buttons for volume and not a twist knob, so you have no idea which volume level you are at. Not a big deal, but an analog knob would be better. For this price, sony could have eliminated the need for apps and put the EQ/lights settings directly on the speaker. Inputs are limited to L/R RED/WHITE RCA and bluetooth with no 3.5mm audio connection requiring a simple adaptor to use a player with only 3.5mm output. Output is limited to the same L/R RED/WHITE RCA. Overall a great speaker and is a good investment for your entertainment needs.

The sound is good,it's not great but I'm very picky. what I was looking was a portable speaker that's rechargeable and loud this fit exactly that, it's got great punch , battery last a long time and the sound is very good for what you're getting ,I expected the lights to project a little more in the room, also I didn't care for The recommended apps. But my DJ app worked great. I was hoping to buy a custom carry bag from Sony since it was sold to be portable, but they do not sell one. There is only 2 other speakers on the market that will give a punch and are battery powered and they are more money. I'm very happy with my decision.

PHENOMENAL BASS and LOUD volumes! I am absolutly enjoying this speaker! excellent sound quality and LONG battery life! if you like music and like bass or volume and you will definitely enjoy this Sony Speaker!

A great speaker for indoor or outdoor use. We purchased this for our son so he could play music on the soccer field with his friends. We wanted a speaker that he could also use indoors. This speaker plays nicely for both options with good volume control. For those that love base - this is a great speaker. For a kid that was kicking soccer balls around it, the protective case is a bonus. He likes the party chain lights for when they play under the lights in the evening. It definitely makes for fun! We did not purchase this initially for the winter months, however, our teen found this speaker to be a great fit on the ice in the indoor and at the outdoor hockey rink. The high school players used this speaker daily. The charge holds nicely. For example, used for the entire day on the pontoon then on the deck with the party lights on that evening. Plugged in to charge that evening by habit only, not because it had died. Connects easily to Bluetooth. No problems. I would recommend this speaker as we have owned for almost 2 years and it is as good as the first day we purchased.

Powerful sound across our parking lot. Simple to operate. Charges quickly and last for a ling time. Lights can be turned off if wanted to. I liked the thought of being able to join another if I needed to, but one is more than able to project across our parking lot.

Overall great product for the small party goers, or just for workin out. Good quality sound and can be very loud. Bluetooth connects quickly and the light show is an added bonus. for the purchase price of the item its perfect.

This product is great. The speaker is easily move able and sounds great. The lights are really cool while entertaining. It’s also nice to be able to link with another speaker. Great product and lots of fun.

This speaker is amazing. it is so loud. It is able to be heard about 200 ft away at about 75% volume. The highs are high and the lows are low. not much for sound stage, but I don't know what you are really expecting with a single module design. Speaking of modules however, this speaker is able to connect to 99 other speakers of the same model. I have tried this with this exact speaker and it's smaller brother the xb41 as well as the xb60 and all three of them paired up perfectly, regardless of Sony's statement that they're unable to pair up together. I did use the integrated application to do so however. ..... I sure hope the neighbors don't call the police

I wanted something portable for mixing as a DJ and this set up seamlessly. The sound quality is great for bass music. The best part is how portable it is. I think i have set it up in every room in my house already and outside with no cord as well. The battery says 16 hours which I haven't put that to the test yet but it has lasted on a battery charge for hours with no issues. Cant wait to get another one and chain link them! The app allowing you to change lighting and sound features is also very nice.

I do HVAC. Everyone that I work with on the jobsites always ask for my speaker to use for music. I put it in the basement and everyone can hear it throughout the house. The bass is pretty good considering its not a $2000 DJ system. No troubles connecting to it and the battery life is great. Goes longer than the 16 hr. estimate. The lights are a cool feature bit really aren't necessary. Maybe for a party which I guess is what its designed for. Personally I think somy hit it out of the park with the XB90. I haven't tried any of the smaller speakers in this line, but I'm guessing theyre pretty good too.

I have the previous model and seems that the sound quality is not quite as good. Keep in mind that this model allows for sound adjustment in the upgraded app. The speaker is great because of the battery period. The Bluetooth is easy to set-up and boom you got music on the road.

I purchased this to fill the void in my soul that had been created by lesser petite speakers. I love music, all genres of it. Until now no wireless speaker could satisfy my thirst. This sony however, is a music lovers wet dream. Full rich sound, high, mid, and low. Impressive battery life and shiny lights to satisfy your inner child. It's loud, clear, and it will anger your neighbors. I hope this helps you fill your void, it definitely filled mine. Oh and you can chain 100 of them together if you want to create earthquakes.

the sound is amazing....the bass is very rich and deep

I first used this speaker on Cinco de Mayo for a party. Everyone loved it. It was easy to connect to my laptop and android tablet via wifi. It seems that the volume was louder when I used my laptop. I love this speaker, the sound is great and the lights add a dance club effect to my parties. I am looking forward to using this speaker for many years to come!

I had recently purchased the speaker for my boyfriend for father day and the sound is awsome and clear I will be purchasing another speaker to dial with my current speaker and the bass is good and loud for cookouts or just listening outside. I wish the price of the speaker was cheaper I purchased this speaker for 399.

This makes any kickback into a party the sound that comes out of this speaker is enough to everyone enjoy and the light show is plus

THIS SPEAKER ROCKS LOUDER THAN MY BOSE WAVE RADIO. THIS SPEAKER IS BLUETOOTH READY. POWERED GREAT FOR A MONITOR IF YOU DJ. IT HAS A LINE OUTPUT FOR DAISY CHAINING. LOOKS GREAT SOUNDS GREAT. IF THEY MAKE A 8" I WOULD BUY IT ALSO. LAST OVER FIVE HOURS OF MUSIC. IT EVEN HAS A MIC INPUT,LINE INPUT USB INPUT.

The speaker itself is great super loud and tons of bass. Awesome battery and cool looking lighting. Only giving 4 stars because the TWO applications to control settings on the speaker are very limited and not set up for ease of use. They need to combine the two and create one better app to regain 5 stars
