It really expanded my son's game library. He was able to get it install without any issues. No issues so far and it's been a few months.

I bought this drive for the PS5 Pro, and I definitely wish the console would have came with it instead of needing to buy it separately. In the end that was Sony's choice, maybe the PS5 Pro price would have been $750 or more instead if it did, but in any case it is what it is. I'm glad we at least we still have the option to still use physical discs for now as going digital continues taking over. As for reviewing the disc drive itself, it works great. I had to watch a video of the installation since the bottom plate of the PS5 Pro takes some force to remove in order to put this on, and I wanted to make sure I was doing it right. It comes with longer plastic legs to pop on for using the PS5 Pro horizontally, so I have no need for the vertical stand they also sell separately. I bought several games on disc that are much cheaper than what they cost digitally, and I am using GameFly to rent PS5 disc games too. I've already saved the monetary value of how much this drive costs in these few days of having the console, and over time I'm sure I'll save even more money by taking advantage of discs. At this point I'm not sure if the eventual PS6 will have a disc drive or the option of attaching a separate one like we got here, keeping my fingers crossed that physical media will keep hanging on!

Advantages: Convenient for using disks. Works properly, quickly, allows you to buy not only a digital copy of games, but also a physical one, which allows you to change the disc to another if you play a game. Thanks to the store for fast and high-quality delivery

Easy to install, just don’t forget the horizontal stand legs - they’re easy to miss. Physical games are often on sale for less than their digital counterparts, making a disc drive a no-brainier for console purchases. I wish this was bundled with the console, but it’s a worthwhile purchase that eventually pays for itself over the generation.

If you get a PS5 Slim digital/disc-free system; the Bluray drive is a necessary to play physical PS4, PS5 discs as well as watching DVD’s and Bluray discs. I installed it easily into my. PS5 Slim without a problem and it synced after connecting to the internet. What is great about having a Best Buy Total plan is that every item that you purchased is covered for 24 months and if anything goes wrong with them, they will be replaced per their policy. Video game consoles I believe all should have an extended service plan especially if you plan on playing them as much as I do.

Arrived on time, easy to install. I'm so happy to be able to use discs for my PS5, it's a little more cost effective for my partner and I to buy games after the price goes down. But the main reason I wanted this was so I could transfer some PS4 games over without having to repurchase them as digital copies. This drive was expensive, but worth it.

I am thoroughly impressed with this console! I’ve enjoyed Xbox for many years but the PS5 pro has taken my heart. I started playing video games long ago, back when the Atari 2600 was the biggest thing. There’s been so many gaming consoles since but that peak is now where PlayStation 5 pro now rests. The resolution is outstanding, the controller feels natural in my hands and is of the upmost quality, the ease of navigation through the home screen menu, party chat, switching accounts, accessing settings, it’s all so easy and top shelf looking. I could not be happier with my ps5!
