Overlooked GOAT; FNATIC/Sony’s Sleeper Headset
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just buy it. Cross-collaboration with FNATIC esports and Sony yielded the finest, lightest, and most comfortable gaming headset available for PC/PS5 gamers. Directional audio is on lock; far superior to peers in this price range, even beats out Sony’s own H7 and H9. *extremely low weight* and soft fabric ensure no ear/head fatigue. Microphone is Sony’s best to date; easily tops the new Pulse Elite and Inzone H9. You’re spending at least $150-$200 more and gaining at least 100-250 grams to get anything better.

The headphones you need for psvr2 ps5
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had 3 sets of pulse 3D, but they kept falling apart. Then I had two pairs of pulse elites but they would lose Bluetooth connection often and were terrible on Psvr2. These are way better. Better build quality. Better button layout. Better mic. Great Bluetooth connectivity. Never had any disconnect from ps5. I love them. Only had them for 2 weeks but I think ill be happy with them for a long time.

Good for Gaming but no Bluetooth or Voice Prompts
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall these are a good headset but they lack features/functionality that more and more competitors are offering for mid-tier wireless gaming headphones. They don’t support Bluetooth connectivity or come with voice prompts or visual indications of their status. Even my cheapest earbuds do this! The fit, comfort and overall audio performance was good and what you would expect at this level. If you are into the Sony ecosystem this is one headset to consider but if you have extra budget I would recommend upgrading to the H7 if possible. Pros: - The headphones are very light, fit comfortably and have a low profile - The Spatial Audio adds to the gaming experience - InZone Hub equalizer lets you customize the sound quality Cons: - No Bluetooth - No Noise Cancellation - No voice prompts for battery level or connection status - No storage case - The USB receiver is 4 cm long which is not laptop friendly Performance: These headphones come with a long USB transceiver that pairs reliably and quickly. As mentioned above there is no Bluetooth support so using these wirelessly with other devices such as a phone or tablet is not possible. Sadly there are not any voice prompts to tell you the status of the headset or the connection. No “Hello Battery level is …” or “Pairing” or “Connected” or “Goodbye” status messages. Instead you get cryptic beeps in the headset that you have to differentiate to know what is going on. Also there is only a very small led on the side of the headset that blinks occasionally to give you any type of indication that they are on. On the front of the transceiver there is a led connection status indicator but if you are like most people your pc is on the floor and due to the length of the transceiver you most probably will have it in the back of the pc. Using the 4cm transceiver in the side of a laptop can be very problematic due to how far it extends out. Once you get the headset paired you can then access the configuration options in Sony’s InZone Hub app on your pc. The app allows you to set up Sony’s 360 Spatial audio which provides a much fuller sound stage. The Spatial audio adds directional separation to the sounds so in FPS games you know exactly where the sound came from. Also the InZone app allows you to set a custom equalizer or you can use one of the presets to personalize the sound quality. After adjusting the equalizer I was able to get the sound quality I expected from a Sony headset. There are openings on the sides of the ear muffs that are supposed to help with ear drum pressure from the bass sounds. This is helpful if you love deep bass or play games with a lot of explosions and bangs. The headset has a rotary volume control, a USB-C charging port, an audio cable port and the microphone on the left ear muff. On the right ear muff you have the on/off button and the Chat/Game switch. The microphone boon is flexible so you can configure it close to your mouth and it has a built in mute when you raise it. The microphone does have voice isolation to help enhance your voice quality. The headphones are charged via an included USB-C cable and the battery life is estimated at 28 hours. Fit: These headphones have a low profile and are very light sitting on your head. The soft fabric foam rings allow your ear to sit inside the cups. The earcups are very supple so they conform to your head and provides some noise isolation. This is not nearly as good as true noise cancelling headphones but its enough to help isolate some fan and room noise. The support arms slide to fit unlike others that have stepped arms. Because of this the arm length is less likely to stay fitted when taken on and off. The pull down microphone arm is flexible so that you can bend it to pick up the best voice quality without it being in the way.

Charging the H5 is a breeze, and its impressive 28-hour battery life means you can indulge in multiple gaming sessions before a recharge is required. If you're in a hurry, a quick 10-minute charge will give you about 3 hours of gaming time. The ability to charge while using the headset is a thoughtful touch. The audio quality of the H5 is truly exceptional, with the 360 Spatial Sound enhancing your gaming experience by providing you with directional audio cues. The ability to customize and personalize your audio through the smartphone app and INZONE Hub PC software is a delightful bonus for audiophiles. Pros: 360 Spatial Sound, Comfortable Design, Crystal-Clear Communication, Wireless and Wired Options, Long Battery Life, Easy Charging, Customization, Versatile Compatibility, Sleek Design Cons: Price, Limited Color Options In summary, the Sony INZONE H5 wireless gaming headset offers numerous advantages, including advanced audio features, comfort, and clear communication. However, it's important to consider factors like price and color options, as well as the need to switch between wired and wireless connections based on your preferences and gaming setup.

Excellent Plug & Play for PC, PS5 and PSVR2
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.UNBOXING: Inside the box of the H5 is the headphone, the USB-A dongle, a USB-A to USB-C charging cable, and a 3.5mm 4-pole cable for passive analog usage. Also inside, you’ll find the setup guide, and a few INZONE stickers. BUILD: The INZONE H5 is very similar to the H9 that I reviewed last year, but makes some important changes to achieve its much lower price point. My unit weighed in at 261g which is quite a bit lighter than the ~330g of the H9. The plastic has a matte textured finish akin to that of the PlayStation 5 console cover, and is really no different than the H9. Overall, it feels durable while also being lightweight. On the right ear cup is the power button, chat and game mix buttons, and an LED indicator which can flash when powering on, powering down, or checking the battery status. On the left ear cup is the USB-C charging input, a charging indicator LED, 3.5mm jack, and the boom microphone which you can lift up to mute, then move back down to re-engage. The microphone does have a little bit of flexibility so that it isn’t touching your face. And since the only way to mute is to lift it up, there’s no need for an LED indicator at the tip. The headband is a smooth gliding adjustment which some folks may like, while others may prefer to have clicking adjustments to ensure symmetry on each side. Regardless, the headband provides enough adjustment for larger head sizes. The ear cups also swivel to ensure they can rest naturally against your head without applying any undesired pressure. Also, I did test it with PlayStation VR2 and found that it fits over the PSVR2 headset and was still comfortable, so if you’re looking at wireless options to pair with your PSVR2, this may be a good pickup for that purpose. COMFORT: The INZONE H5 uses fabric ear pads like the H7, and I found them to be quite comfortable. They have a relatively large oval-shaped opening and should be able to fit most ears since there is quite a bit more space under the pads where your ears will rest. The ear pads are very plush and form a surprisingly good seal against your ears, so they end up providing a decent amount of passive noise isolation. I personally quite like these ear pads, as they help reduce stress from the clamping force. The headband has pretty thick, soft pleather padding that makes it comfortable for longer playing sessions without causing hotspots at the apex of my head. My longest session with the H5 on was 3 hours straight without any discomfort, and I’m sure I could have continued using it for much longer. Your mileage may vary, but the INZONE H5’s lighter weight and plush padding delivers a very comfortable experience. SETUP: The setup process for the INZONE H5 headset is straightforward on both PC and PS5. The USB-A dongle has a toggle switch labeled “PC” and “PS5'' that you can set before plugging it in. If you’re using a Windows PC, you can download the INZONE Hub app to make adjustments to sound settings and microphone settings. Once the dongle is plugged in, the LED indicator on the dongle will blink to indicate that it’s waiting for the headset to pair. Power on the headset by holding down the power button on the right ear cup. You’ll hear a chime to indicate that it has turned on, and then a subsequent chime indicating that it has been paired with the dongle. To power off, hold down the power button until you hear a chime. If you’re using a PC, you’ll need to set your default output device to “INZONE H5 - Game”, while chat apps like Discord should be set to “INZONE H5 - Chat”. These individual output options exist so that you can use the hardware buttons on the right ear cup to mix chat audio and game audio. SOFTWARE: For PS5 users, the H5 integration is straightforward. From the H5 hardware, you can control the volume, mix game and voice chat audio, and flipping the microphone up will mute it. All of these actions will have a visual indicator in the PS5 software, but you’ll need to make sure the dongle is switched to “PS5”. This is because the “PC” mode will still work on the PS5, but will not have visual indicators and will only support the microphone and sound. When using the INZONE Hub on PC, you can use different EQs and save them, but they don’t persist to the headset, so if you use different computers, you’ll have to set up those profiles again. The INZONE Hub also provides Sony’s Spatial Sound which can have you take a picture of your ears to use a personalized sound profile when you have Spatial Sound enabled. You can also set Dynamic Range Control which is supposed to give you the option of making quiet sounds a bit louder which might help for certain games. I don’t personally use this. Additionally, the INZONE Hub has controls for microphone gain and sidetone monitoring. Automatic Gain Control is the default setting if you don’t want to manually set your microphone volume. SOUND: The INZONE H5 has a pretty typical sound signature found on gaming headsets with a boomy bass response that bleeds into the midrange. The midrange presentation is otherwise decent, and the treble is recessed with a few spikes. That being said, the H5 is effective for casual non-competitive gaming. While there are better headsets for highly cinematic experiences, I think the H5 does just get out of your way and let you focus on your game without thinking about complicated controls. I played a number of games on PC and PlayStation 5, and overall, I think the H9 does a good job at getting out of your way and lets you just focus on the game. I honestly didn’t think about the fact that I was wearing a headset, and was just immersed in the games at hand. I can’t speak for competitive gaming, but I think for most games, the H9 presented audio in a reasonable way. I’m not a fan of Sony's Spatial Sound feature, so it’s not something I can personally recommend using since it made the audio sound more narrow as opposed to creating a wide spatial effect. For music, the H5 is fine for casual listeners. I personally avoid the built-in preset EQs in the INZONE Hub as they’re all laughably bad. However, you can certainly create your own EQ. I chose to dial back the bass, and increase some treble regions while also reducing some hot treble spikes. Going from Wireless audio to analog 3.5mm, there is quite a difference. It’s clear to me that there’s some digital signal processing onboard the headset when audio is being processed wirelessly, as the analog audio sounds more harsh in the treble. This will really depend on your audio source, but plugged into a neutral system I found the 3.5mm audio to be fine for most gaming, but might be more contentious with certain types of music with strong treble energy. MIC: The microphone sounds reasonably good for a wireless gaming headset. You’ll get more mid-range and treble focus with a pretty low noise floor in my experience. I typically just relied on the Auto-gain and got good results, overall. And the sidetone implementation sounds reasonably good without any hissing. BATTERY: Sony claims that the battery life on the H5 can hit 28 hours. At lower volumes, you may exceed this estimate, but from my testing, I think Sony’s estimates are pretty active. And if you need to top up, Sony claims 10 minutes of charging can yield 3 hours of usage. But it’s also nice that you can use the 3.5mm analog mode if you run out of battery and can’t charge for some reason. Should you deplete the battery or just want to top-up, you can do so with the included USB-A to USB-C charging cable, and you can continue to play while you charge. However, the H5 does not carry data over USB, so the dongle will still need to be plugged in or you’ll need to use 3.5mm analog audio while charging up. CONCLUSION: For the price, the INZONE H5 is a decent wireless gaming headset that can also function as a wired 3.5mm analog headset. While its sound profile isn’t going to win any awards, it is comfortable for long usage, and it does fit over the PSVR2 headset. Whether for PC or for PS5, it could be a decent pickup for a casual gamer who just wants a simple headset without a ton of complicated features.

Lightweight, comfortable, great sounding headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony INZONE H5 wireless headset box comes with an attractive white headset (matches the PS5 in style), a USB transceiver, a USB charging cable, and a 3.5 mm audio cable for wired connection. The first thing I noticed is that it feels considerably lighter than my other gaming headsets and I feel less pressure on my ears compared to other headsets that I have. The ear cups are also very breathable so your ears won’t get as hot. Because of this, I found it to be very comfortable and doesn’t feel as fatiguing to wear for long periods of time. The USB transceiver has a switch for PC or PS5 mode. It was fairly easy to set up. You just plug in the USB transceiver and turn on the headset. It automatically finds and pairs with the headset. You don’t even need to initially charge the headset before use. You can power the headset using the included USB charging cable and it will charge the battery while you use it. To get the most out of the headset you also need to download and install the INZONE Hub software. This allows you to customize the headset’s sound to your liking. Within the software there is an equalizer, dynamic range control, microphone auto gain control, options for setting up and enabling Spatial Sound and master volume control as well as a game/chat balance. There was something that I thought was very confusing about the set up. Windows reported two devices (INZONE H5 - Chat and INZONE H5 Gaming) after installing the headset. You have to set your computer to use INZONE H5 - Gaming in order for the equalizer and Spatial Sound to work. If you use INZONE H5 - Chat these settings have no effect. I was able to set up 3D Spatial Sound after some difficulty. The setup requires you to create a Sony account and download the 360 Spatializer App to your phone. You use the app to take pictures of your ears so the app can analyze the shape of your ears to customize the sound. I tried several times but the app would not recognize my ears. I had to go to my bathroom where I could use the additional mirrors to help me position my ears correctly before my cell phone’s camera could recognize and detect my ears. I was a little ambivalent about having photos of my ears in the cloud and I had my doubts that such a thing could really work. After setting this up, you are able to enable 3D Spatial Sound in INZONE Hub software. The first thing I tried was viewing some Dolby Atmos demos on YouTube. I toggle the effect ON/OFF to see if there was a difference. There was a difference in sound but it’s hard to say whether I prefer having 3D Spatial Sound ON or OFF. I initially thought having it OFF made things sound fuller but the 3D effect seemed the same. Until I came upon a demo called “Real 5.1 Channel Audio Test 4K”. With this demo, I was able to hear a big difference and having 3D Spatial Sound ON was clearly better. In the demo, they had sounds coming from the left surround and right surround speakers. With 3D Spatial Sound OFF, the sounds seem to come from the left and right headset. With 3D Spatial Sound ON, the sounds seemed to come from the left and right area “behind” me. So, I think this really does work and it’s kind of cool. Overall, I think the Sony INZONE H5 headset sounded great. At first I thought it was a little too boomy for me but after installing the INZONE Hub software and using the equalizer, I thought it sounded much better. Games, videos, and music now all sounded great with good bass, good clarity and a nice wide soundstage. Dialogue was also very easy to understand. Sound recordings from the mic sounded very clear with no background noise at all. I like that you can mute/unmute the microphone just by lifting or lowering the mic. I prefer this method to fumbling around looking for a mute/unmute button. I loved that the Sony INZONE H5 headset also has an option for wired connection for those that prefer it. I wished it also included Bluetooth so I could use it with more devices. In summary, I like the Sony INZONE H5 headset a lot. It looks great. It’s probably the best looking headset I have. It’s very light and is the most comfortable headset I’ve tried for longer periods of use. In addition, it also sounds fantastic. Highly recommended.

When you’re a gamer you tend to gravitate toward those lightweight headphones with low side pressure to last through those long gaming sessions. In the box you get the headsets itself, charging cable, 3.5 mm cable, USB transceiver and getting started booklet. The headset weighs about 260g and is super comfortable for those long gaming sessions or study sessions. These headphones also boast 40mm drivers. On the headset there are only a few buttons. On the right ear cup is the power button, chat and game mix button that is connected to and LED to see the status. On the left earcup is the USB-C charging unit, charging indicator LED, 3.5 mm jack and the boom microphone. This headset connects using a 2.4Ghz USB transceiver. You can charge this headset with USB-C port. Overall, to get this headset setup is fairly easy. The battery life is good and comes in at 28 hours on a single full charge. There is also that dial that helps balance the chat and the game. The audio quality of the H5 was really great and with the 360 spatial sound it really amped up the gaming experience. You can even customize your sound by using the INZONE Hub PC software. PRO’s: - Absolutely stunning sound quality - Solid build and premium design - Audio profiles - Battery life CON’s: - Price - Limited color options SUMMARY: Overall, this product worked as intended, and I would recommend this to a friend if they were in the market for an item like this.

Grreat Offering From Sony!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great headphones! Inside the box, you will find the headphones, USB-C charging cable, 2.5 mm audio cable. Quick note on the 2.5 mm cable, one end is a straight input and the other is a 90 degree. Thoughtful touch and noce they provided more options where a straight connection might not be optimul (airplane audio connections come to mind. You will also find the ubiquoutous user manual and some self-agrindizing Sony and "InZone" stickers if you want to give Sony some free advertising, they provided that for you! These are particularly good looking set of headphones. In a world so full of black on black or primarily black woth perhaps a small accent color. These white phones offset with a black boom and black interior padded cloth shows very well. As for on-board controls, there is a power button, volume control and a game/chat mode. The included USB adapter has a PC and PS5 selection switch. Pretty traigh forward. You can download the Sony INZONE app and that will let you set custom EQ settings, microphone test and and volume/device settings. Fairly lightweight, but a noce feature. One place where these really stand uot is the weight and comfort. My son is a US Navy NUclear Engineer and he and his mom and I often play games with us here in Colorado and him in KingsBay GA. My wife absconded with these and left me the older gaming headset and she loves them for the comfort. The sound quality is excellent, especially for gaming. And the microphone also feed great sound. The only drawback I see (and only reason for a 4 star rating instead of 5) is that it is USB connectivity only. It would be great if it offered Bluetooth connectivity. USB is just one more thing to loose, takes up a port on the hardware and limits options for devices to be connected. In all, a very nice choice providing typical great Sony sound and top-shelf comfort in a premium offering.

Great PS5 Companion
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony H5 headset is a great alternative PS5 companion. These headrests are nicely built and they look great. They are very similar to my older H3 but these are wireless and more comfortable. They are black in color but you can get them in white. It came nicely packed with recyclable materials and no plastic. The foam pads are very soft, and they do a good job making the outside noise. I usually have issues with over the head headphones but with this they fit just nice and they can be adjusted. To mute the mic all you have to do is flip to mute. Mic is also adjustable and it can be bent. This headset works on its proprietary 2.4Ghz band so you have to plug in the included USB dongle to the device or your preference whether is a PS5 or PC. On the left side you will have the mic and the volume rocker, headphone jack, and USB-C port . Again, that volume rocker had the same troublesome similarities I had with the H3 when adjusting the volume. However, they added a little bit more texture this time around which makes it a bit better. Something to get used to. The sound quality is pretty good and they are loud. It is nicely balanced but the same as the previous it falls short on the base at least for taste. On the right earcup you have a power button and a chat/game selector. This headset can be connected via wire using the headphone jack port and the included cable. It charges with the included USB cable and is rated at 28 hrs of use. The Inzone Hub software on the PC allows you to adjust frequency levels using the equalizer option. There were a few presets as well. Honestly I didn’t notice any difference using the software, even adjusting the levels in custom mode. The software was actually conflicting with my video card when I was launching games. That can easily be fixed with a software update. I was using it with my Alienware with an Nvidia RTX 3070 when I encountered this issue. I actually had to uninstall the software. When using it with the PS5 no adjustment to the sound was required, it just works. I find the sound to be much better with the PS5 console than the PC. You have to connect the dongle and set it to the PS5 setting. When adjusting the volume or muting the mic you will see an overlay of those adjustments on your TV. It’s like these were made specifically for the PS5. The dongle lights up white when plugged in and when using it with the PS5 in the dark it blends in nicely with the PS5 ambient light. Despite these headsets being made for the PS5 and PC, I decided to try them with my Android mobile device and it worked perfectly. I used a USB-A to USB-C adapter to connect the dongle to my phone and I was able to listen to music and make phone calls. Overall these are very nice headset they look great and sound good. A good upgrade from the H3. They are very comfortable with good battery life. If you own a PS5 it is a perfect headset companion. In the box you get the headset, wireless dongle, USB cable, headphone cable and some manuals.

My favorite PS5 Headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony INZONE H5 headset is probably one of the best headsets you can pair with your PlayStation 5. This is a great improvement over the previous Sony headset, with much clearer highs and miss, while delivering deeper lows for an immersive gameplay experience overall. In the box, you’ll find the Headset with attached microphone, a charging cable, a USB receiver with a toggle for PS5 & PC use, a headphone cable, and some basic documentation. To work with your PlayStation 5, make sure the PS5 is toggled on the USB Receiver, and plug it into any available USB A plug on your console. The connection is instantaneous, with the mic arm placement enabling mute when positioned up. The microphone is clear, at least from what I’ve heard from my friends when playing online, the stereo sound is better than my previous Sony headset, and the noise reduction made sure my dog wasn’t overpowering my online party chats. There is a button to adjust the volume of game and chat to find the right balance for you. I personally prefer the party chat volume over gameplay, since I’m usually on an first person shooter, playing team death matches with my friends online. On the other earphone you’ll find the USB C port for charging, and the volume roller. The headband has comfortable padding, allowing you to take advantage of long life battery for longer gameplay, without the headset fatigue found with others. I should point out, the claim of 10 minutes charge for 3 hours of gameplay, is surprisingly accurate. I actually got about 3 1/2 hours of game-time from a 10 minute charge The Sony INZONE H5 also work with the same USB receiver, while plugged into an available USB A port on your PC and the selector switch set to PC. It’s plug and play, and didn’t require any additional drivers when I used it the first time. There is also a headphone jack to connect to any standard 3.5” headphone output. When used on PC, the microphone will work for chat apps or for your online broadcast using your preferred streaming platform without any issues. The mute function works the same way, with the boom mic positioned up and back. Overall, the INZONE H5’s do a better job than most others on the market, and are an excellent option for those wanting a Sony audio solution, designed with their PS5 in mind.

A Welcome Improvement
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So this the 3rd time I've tried to type this up. I say that because it's just that important. These headphones are literally I head and shoulders over the las iteration it. And that's sayig a whole lot. Last year's H series. The feel of them tham have somehow been greatly improved , due in part to the design. They feel so much more erganomic. They feel like they just belong on my head. The soud quality is better, somehow. Alowing me to literally hear the player coming up behing me, just before they off me in some sadistic way. I can hear where my enemies are when playing COD. And the sound in group chats are top-notch. Ok, now that we've established the beauty and feel, let's get into usefullness. I know that these are created for the Playstation 5, and it get's no complaints in that area. But you can also use these for any sysetem or PC that you may have laying around. The 3.5 mm jack makes sure that you are able to plug this into any Xbox series system or even a Nintendo Switch console, fore easy contact with yourr gaming universe.. The dongle keeps you connecte via wireless connectivity, to your PC and I honestly can think of any good reason tonot get these, because they are better than last year's version. And we all want to be better. These things are gangsta. Get 'em.

My New Standard
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is easily the best headset I have owned for my Playstation! I was running into sound bleed issues with previous headsets because the mouth piece wasnt far enough away from the headphone. I'm happy to say that this was not in issue for the INZONES. Fantastic sound and mic quality and super comfy to wear. You get what you pay for. My one gripe is that the leather mesh has started to fall off after a little over a year of owning so I will likely need to replace mine. It's purely cosmetic but an eye soar non the less. Otherwise great headset.

Use it wireless only
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Light, comfortable and sound amazing, provided you are using them wirelessly. If you use the included wired connection ALL of the good things about this headset vanish other than the comfort. As soon as I hooked the USB dongle to my computer, the headset was working. However, if you want to take full advantage of the headphones you will want to install the INZONE Hub and reboot the computer. This will then change the audio to have 2 outputs, one for game and one for chat. This makes it so the game/chat volume rocker works to balance audio from the headset. The INZONE Hub also has the options to adjust the volumes as well as a 10 channel EQ to make the sound you prefer. The strangest thing about these headphones is the spatial sound. I have used Windows Sonic, Dolby Atmos and DTS Unbound and each have their unique differences but all do a decent job at providing spatial awareness in gaming content. However, to use the spatial sound for this headset you need to download the ‘360 Spatial Sound Personalizer’ app on your phone and take pictures of your ears to even enable it. It is a fairly simple process of holding the camera like taking a selfie and turning your head in the direction it tells you, but strange in comparison to just enabling it like other spatial audio. In comparison to the other spatial audio systems, I don’t notice much of a difference. It still does a decent job of giving spatial awareness, but you can’t even use the other systems with this headset to directly compare them. One thing to take notice of is when you are changing content. For instance, I might be in a game and in chat with a friend as well, so I change the game/chat volume on the headset and keep playing. But, then decide to watch a video and notice that no matter how much I turn the volume rocker, it just sounds low. That is because the ‘game’ volume has been turned down to increase the chat volume. You have to increase the game volume to regain full volume. Chat wise it works pretty good but the auto gain control can sound a little aggressive cutting some word off quicker than you intend, but there is no adjustment for it. It is either on or off. With it off, the microphone still does a decent job of not picking up every sound in the room. Battery life is listed up to 28 hours, I have not timed it directly, but I wore them for several hours over 4 days till they finally gave the warning of low battery. You can plug them up with the USB-C cable and still use them while charging. As mentioned at the start, the ability to use it wired is really just a waste in comparison to it being wireless. It turns off the moment you hook the wire to it, so the boost of it being powered is gone. So, everything now sounds tiny in comparison, there is no EQ and you can’t control any volume from the headset. To make matters worse, when trying to use it for chat, it just echoes chat right back to the other players. So, for PC and PlayStation while wireless, these are great. However, try to use it with an Xbox controller or other 3.5mm jack and they just turn out bad. Plus, they don’t have the option for Bluetooth, which seems like they could have so many more options if they did. Overall, these are a nice set of headphones provided you intend to use them with the included wireless dongle on PC or PS. They are fairly light, comfortable and breathable ear cups with a long lasting battery life and decent spatial audio that leads to a lot of endless gaming.

Mid-tier at best
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony INZONE H5 wireless headphones are a light headset which you can use across windows and Sony PS5 to game or watch videos by just inserting the adapter into a USB port. Some of the best things about the INZONE H5 are that they are comfortable and ease to set up, having these on your head for long gaming sessions was not an issue for me. The headband on the headphones has a nice plush cushion and the ear cups do not add any pressure to your ears. The headphones have a total 3 buttons (power/chat/game) and one scroll wheel to adjust the volume. To setup the INZONE H5 all you have to do is plug in the adapter and the headphones start working, they do use 2.4 wireless connectivity so your able to go much further (in comparison to Bluetooth) from your system and still hear what is going on without and distortion. I didn’t notice any sync issues with voice/music when using these but if there is the headphones do have a 3.5 connection port. If you’re using these on windows you can download the INZONE HUB which helps with adjustment to the sound and has a feature where Sony maps your ear which should provide better sound but it did not make any difference when I was using them. The sound on the INZONE H5 is good in certain areas and horrible in other areas, where I found it to be great was with voices and small ambiance noises for this the INZONE H5 are one of the best in the business. When it comes to base that is totally different story, the sound is very hallow and its some of the worst base I have heard in a long time. The INZONE H5 also do spatial audio/360 and this is ok, I tried a few test and it seems as if the headphones don’t always get the sound correct everytime. Overall the headphones are ok but they are not something I could recommend with the range of options out there.

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony INZONE H5 WH-G500 is in my opinion Sony's redemption when it comes to gaming sound. These are amazing and they sound great even for basic media. Actually, these are some of the best headphones for gaming at a good price with echo cancellation and noise suppression. Packaging is nice; goes in line with Sony's gaming brand. Quick start guide, must download the "INZONE Hub" app on Windows (10+), Guide also tells you about not spilling water over the USB-C port which obviously is the worst thing you can do to this gaming headset. Comes with purple and clear INZONE stickers. USB-C and a 3.5 mm AUX cord are provided inside the box. These headphones are the same as the H3 but wireless. The same design with a power button on the right earcup. I personally enjoy the design of the headphones; Sony stays constant with their design and that's a wonderful thing. The white plastic curves so nicely in the palm of my hand that it just feels very nice to hold. Comfortable black band complaints the design no less. Also, on the right earcup are buttons for game/chat so you can switch quickly. Feels light on the head as well as sturdy when moving the head around. The volume is separated from the Windows environment without any app installed. The 2.4GHz USB adaptor supplied inside the box can switch between PS5 (Playstation 5) and PC. Boom mic is beyond exceptional on PS5 and PC, People can hear clearly on Zoom calls and deathmatches for gaming. INZONE H5 lasts the whole 28 hours with 10 quick charge that gives you 3 hours in 10 minutes. INZONE app gives you greater control over your sound. Setting EQs, Dramatic range, Noise canceling, ambiance sound, and more. Music sounds fantastic no matter what artist you are listening to. As for the sound itself, they sound great and have good bass on normal media. Gaming they sound even better with dramatic range. I think these will be my new daily driver for PC and gaming activities. I really enjoy the white-on-black design in this day in age. No strange malfunctions at all. I recommend these to anybody who owns a PC or PS5. A much better attempt at the Pluse headphones & and these are perfect at the sweet spot for pricing. 5 out of 5 stars just for the improvements over the old model. Thumbs up.

Great Wireless Headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony H5 is a great wireless headset, which also can work wired, and that matches the styling of the launch PS5 when in white. In the box, you get the Sony H5 headset, a 3.5mm cable, USB-C to USB-A Charging cable, and a wireless dongle to plug in to your PS5 or PC. There is a little switch on the side of the dongle to set which device you are connecting it to. Fresh out the box I downloaded the INZONE Hub software in here you can set the volume levels, microphone volume, equalizer plus the spatial audio. To set up the Sound Field Personalization, you will need to download the 360 Spatial Sound Personalizer app on your smart phone. This will have you sign in to your Sony account, then guide you through taking a couple pictures of your eats to set up your personalized audio profile, if you sign in to the same account on the INZONE Hub, this will sync and complete the setup. At the moment I am still on a Diablo IV grind with the new season out, so I used the headset for several hours gaming. First question I asked was how clear the mic was, and compared to the non-Sony headset I was using before, they said the Sony was preferred as I was much clearer in voice. Which can be great for communication depending on the game you are playing. I will need to use this headset on my PS5, but I have been waiting for Spider-Man to jump back over, but with my audio experience on the PC, I can't see it being much different other than taking advantage of the Spatial Audio More, which I has been a wonderful experience on my H7 headset. I was mostly looking for an upgrade to my PC gaming as I didn't want to have to keep moving the headset and dongle back and forth. With my experience using the Sony headsets, I can say for gaming they have really hit the mark on these as they don't pick up a ton of background noise, from my experience, and they have a nice cushion and lightweight design that does not bother me in long gaming sessions!
