While we're glad you like most of the features, we're sorry that you're having issues with your LinkBuds S and you you feel the battery power does not last long. The rate of battery consumption may vary between the left and right earbuds depending on the settings of various functions and the conditions of use. This is not a malfunction. Also, if you set the some functions (such as the Equalizer, DSEE Extreme, Noise canceling function/Ambient Sound Mode, Speak-to-Chat, Function to launch the voice assist function by your voice, Service Link, and Sound quality mode during Bluetooth playback: Priority on sound quality), the available operating time of the battery becomes short.
If you run these settings at the same time, the available operating time of the battery becomes even shorter. Thank you for the purchase! We're glad to hear that you like the comfortable design of the headphones. We do apologize for the inconvenience. Technically you can use only one unit of the headset. You can remove one unit of the headset from the charging case and use the unit by itself.
In this case, only the unit that has been removed from the charging case will turn on. Thank you for choosing Sony!

Comfort, great sound, unreliable battery

Sadly, the right earbud battery broke after a year. Only last less than 30 minutes and it's very annoying, basically I only have 1 bud and 1 temporary (while thenleft one charges). I don't know if I would buy this one again.

Really good earphones, but app screws you

Sound quality is really good. Bass aight heavy but you shouldn't expect heavy base on earphones like these, buy headphones instead. Battery I get 4 in a half hours on each earphone without the Sony app. Connection on a Google pixel 6 is amazing. I can leave my phone in another room and walk away for a good 30 ft before I start getting connection issues. To be able to use each earphone individually don't download the Sony app since it will change up all the setting and not allow you to use the left one without having the right one on.

Despite the problem, we are glad that you are satisfied with the very comfortable fit & lightweight design, exceptional sound quality, available operating time, great Bluetooth connection, and overall performance of the headphones.
For your issue, as part of normal operation, you cannot use only the left unit of the headset when Service Link is turned on from the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app. However, you can use only the right unit of the headphones. And depending on the assignment of the touch sensors and/or the Voice Assistant setting, you may not be able to use only one unit of the headset. To solve this problem, please follow the troubleshooting steps on these articles:

Really good pair of earbuds

It's been at least 2 months since I purchased them and I have to say that they are definitely worth it for the price. I had purchased them while they were discounted and ever since I've been enjoying them while i am at work. My only issue and the only reason why it's not a 5 star is because the battery life is kind of ehh. They usually die half way into my 8 hour shift and in order to enjoy them for longer i have to charge them while on my breaks, but honestly other then that these are perfect pair of earbuds if you can get them discounted

Solid Headphones & Great Microphone

The biggest thing I was looking for was solid microphone quality because I’m on calls all the time. They do fall out of my ears easily though which is a bummer and if they aren’t fully charged, the right earphone can be a little spotty on sound but I’m still in my return window so testing it out. I am pretty satisfied so far with all the features too! I wish they would automatically connect from one device to another quicker (like my AirPods did) but that’s not the end of the world.

We're sorry you've been running into difficulty. The LinkBuds S comes with different sizes of earbud tips to ensure there is a great fit for all ear sizes and an optimal noise canceling experience. Please use the right size according to the size of your ears. When wearing them, please gently pull on the top of your ear as you twist the earbud into your ear. This should give you a firmer hold. And, to ensure you get the best Bluetooth connection, please set the headphones Bluetooth Connection Mode to “Priority on stable connection".
The headphones also feature Multipoint connection. You can switch the multipoint connection (Connect the headset to 2 devices simultaneously) on/off setting in the Sony Headphones Connect app. For your reference, visit the help guide link below.

If you feel like the right size might fall off, twist the headset unit to slide the earbud tip deep into your ear canal. If the size of the earbud tips does not match the size of your ear canals or the headset is not worn properly in your ears, tap operations or Speak-to-Chat speech detection may not work correctly, or you may not obtain the correct sound qualities, noise canceling effects, or call performance.
Please note that the size of the left and right earbud tips may be different.
If you are still having difficulties, the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app will help you to determine which earbud tips are most suitable for you to achieve the optimal noise cancellation effect.

They are too big and fall out. The battery I got was at most 3 hours with the case 3hrs 30mins. Settings are too complicated to setup they seem to do everything on their own because I turned off the features and they still would turn on ambient sound and chat detection and they would beep turn my music off and wait a few seconds to turn the music back on.

As for the Speak-to-Chat function, the Speak-to-Chat mode activates when the headset detects the speech of the person wearing the headset, but in rare cases it may activate in response to vibrations caused by devices such as electric toothbrushes, electric massagers, and electric shavers, or by activities such as brushing your teeth, coughing, or humming. In cases where the Speak-to-Chat mode frequently activates by accident, set Speak-to-Chat to “L Sensitivity”.
