Customers consistently note the superb sound quality, deep bass, and comfortable fit of these earbud headphones. Many appreciate their lightweight design and reasonable price. A common suggestion is the addition of volume control on the cord. The tangle-free cord is also a frequently praised feature.

    Louder than Beats by Dre

After lots of research I decided to buy these. They are louder and deeper in bass than my Beats by Dre Over-Ear headphones and Samsung and Sony ear-buds (which have impressive sound too). My brother told me that they are louder than his iPhone ear buds too. They do not easily fall off my ears while walking or jogging, in fact, I normally have to pull them off. Sometimes I use them as ear plugs when I'm around loud noise. They have a nice look too. The button on the wire for pause, stop, play, answer, mute (or whatever you would like to program these phones to do) is a nice touch; although, I would like it to additionally have an analogue slider or wheel for volume separately. I thought the anti-tangle feature was a lie... well they do get tangled but I've never had a hard time untangling them. They fit comfortably in my ears. They are a little expensive at $50 but they are worth the extra cash you spend on the product. I can say that these are the best pair of earphones I've ever had.

Had in-ear Beats that just stopped working for no reason at all (Beats are overpriced garbage) and these blow them away. Better bass, better highs and lows, and more comfortable to wear. Not to mention better priced.

Pros - sound great. Really do have extra bass, but not overwhelming. Quality is good. Good value/price. Fit is nice. Cons- no volume control or clip on cord. Would have given 5 stars if had volume control.

Hello Shutterbugmonkey, we always appreciate customers who take the time to give us their feedback. You can install the Smart Key app to enable the volume adjustment on your smartphone via the multi function button on the headphones. Noticed this on a lot of Sony's earbuds that the mic is there but the volume buttons are now missing.. I have many sony products from the past and they have the up and down button for the volume.. This unfortunately does not (Not a ding on Best buy, but more so on Sony for taking a step back on this) Overall though the Sound is Fantastic. If you like the deeper bass sounds these are the ones to get. Would have been nice to be able to adjust the volume with the control on the headset cord. It has a mic and a single push button for stoping or starting sounds or siri (For you iPhoners out there) but no volume buttons so Dinging it a star for that, but if it was based on sound alone i wouldn't ding them at all.

    Amazing Sound for the Price

These earbuds truly surprised me. For the price, the sound quality is amazing. The bass is deep and rich, without being overbearing. The flat cable has been very sturdy, and the mic has worked well for phone calls; I have been told the sound quality coming through is great. Also, although it doesn't state it, these are designed to stay in your ears despite small tugs and such, similar to the Skullcandy Fix. This was a pleasant surprise! Plus, they are sturdier and sound better than the Fix. I do wish it had more than the one button on the chord, but since I am on an Android phone, chances are multiple buttons wouldn't have worked anyways, since most are designed to work for Apple iOS products. I easily recommend these, and have purchased them as gifts for others.

These Sony MDRXB50 earbuds are totally awesome. I have seen several Sony products with Sony's Extra Bass have an "XB" somewhere in the model number. Although Extra Bass is not mentioned in the product overview, I can hear the Extra Bass and I see "XB" in this model's model number. The bass is deep but not overpowering. The highs and mids sound great also. The flat cord really does a great job of staying untangled and feels of higher quality than other cords I have experienced. These buds look great. The blue color cord is a refreshing departure from so many black colored cords in my life. I love the storage pouch that comes with these buds, just drop them in the pouch, cinch it up, and your good to go. The mic works good for phone calls. For the price, you cannot beat these buds. The only negative I can see with these buds is that there are no volume or previous track controls. The controls will only start, stop, and advance the track. But still, A++, well done Sony!!

These Xtra bass in ear earbuds sound really good. Cost vs value....buy when on sale for under $40 if possible. Pros. Great sound reproduction. Crisp highs and excellent bass. Not overwhelmed with bass. An EQ on your listening device will help tremendously to get sound setup to your liking. Has an answer button for incoming and ending calls. This single button also skips to next sound track. Pretty comfortable when in ear for long periods of time. They don't hurt at all after hours of use. Cons... There is no volume control on earbuds anywhere...just the single, multi function button for answering/ending calls and skipping songs. The in ear earbuds are not universal fit....meaning one is labeled left and one is labeled right. They will hurt your ears and eventually pop out if in the incorrect ear. The cable picks up any type of rubbing or movement on say a jacket collar and will emit a loud almost static noise when cable brushes up against something. After about 4 months of use the built in mic, on same area as the mulifunction button, has stopped working so I can't use to talk on my cell phone. So when I am listening to Pandora on my cell phone with these earbuds and I get a phone call I have to remove an earbud, unplug cord from phone and finally answer the call. Sucks really. But these have lasted quite sometime. We all know in ear earbuds always break. That's why $100 earbuds make no sense. I WILL BUY THESE AGAIN as soon as I can no longer listen to music and they finally give out fully. Normally, with other brands of earbuds I've tried, one side quits working or I get an annoying static sound through speakers as one side cuts out. Not with these. These Sony earbuds are quite durable actually. I recommend to buy 100%.

I personally think these headphones are great! The bass on these went beyond my expectations. They fit well for my ears, but they do have different sized buds to adjust to the individual. The sound overall is superb and block out noise well without having to turn up the sound very much. I've owned a previous pair for a couple years now and decided to purchase other colors. The price is definitely cheaper than when I first purchased these so that's a plus. I bought these for other family members because they enjoy them as well.

I made the mistake of leaving these headphones in my shirt pocket and they went through a full wash and dryer cycle... And they still work perfectly! Aside from minor color chipping on the earpiece and the Sony logo wearing off a bit, there's no lasting issue. They still sound as good as ever and the controls work. These headphones look good and produce good sound for the low price. They're also not uncomfortable. At first look, I thought they might be too heavy and fall out of my ears, but they're perfect and stay in place. The cord isn't flat enough to prevent knots in the cable, but it's not too bad. It's also nice that Sony offers these headphones in multiple colors.

I have been using these Sony extra bass ear buds now for several months, and l am very pleased with their fit in the ear and the crisp deep bass that they produce. I was given a set of Bose ear buds as a gift, twice as expensive, and replaced them with the Sony because of their amazing sound.

HAD A $230.00 HEADSET THAT I RETURNED AND BOUGHT THESE EAR BUDS. WHAT A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE. EXTRA BASS IS INCREDIBLE EVEN AT FULL VOLUME. NO DISTORTION, THEY BLOCK ALL OUTSIDE NOISE. LIGHTWEIGHT, EASILY MANAGED, VERY COMFORTABLE TO WEAR. THEY WOULD KILL FOR THESE IN PRISON. A SHAME THEY DIDN'T HAVE ALL THE FEATURES OF THE HEADPHONES SUCH AS PREVIOUS SONG, NEXT SONG AND VOLUME CONTROL ALL ON THE WIRING. MAYBE SOMEONE OUGHT TO PRODUCE THOSE FEATURES ON THE SAME EARBUDS

I was looking for some earbuds to use with a gaming laptop, and didn't want to invest a lot of money in them. (I'm pretty picky about sound quality in general, but I've found you can usually get away with a little bit cheaper of speakers or headphones if you're only listening to digitally generated music and speech in games. Having enough bass to reproduce explosions accurately is still important though.) Best Bay had these on sale for under $40, which was the price range I had in mind, and I trusted the Sony brand to be at least respectable in build and sound quality, so I gave them a try. I was pleasantly surprised to find they not only met my expectations, but actually seem to have pretty well balanced sound. (The "Extra Bass" branding on them concerned me because I didn't want to buy something that was bass heavy, making things sound "muddy".) It's actually more like I had hoped, where the extra bass promise just means the bass is heard (unlike the budget earbuds in the "under $15" category that usually have almost no bass). The only downside I've found to these is that I wish they made the cord a little bit longer. For example, if I sit my laptop on the floor right next to a chair I'm sitting in? The earbud cables just barely reach. If I turn my head, that's enough to pull the cord tight and make one of the earbuds come out of my ear.

After purchasing and returning two other sets of major name earphones because they were either uncomfortable or had bad sound, I found these and I ordered because I've always had great luck with Sony products. I'm not looking back…these have awesome sound and are so comfortable. They are extra bass earphones but they sound great to someone who listens to country music. I would recommend these all day long, they have great style and sound!

Bought these to use because a couple other pair I have were uncomfortable and didn't have very good sound. I read a few reviews about these and the ratings looked good so gave them a try. These earbuds are quite comfortable even after wearing for a few hours and the sound is very impressive particularly for this price range. I didn't think the bass would be very strong but it's much better than I had expected. Really impressive sound. Very satisfied with this purchase.

For the price these are very nice! I was expecting a terrible over-bassy,"farty", vibrate my skull-type sound but it did not happen. The bass was quite pleasant really. The sound really fills up my head. Some genres of music may need a tweak of the EQ to take out some of the bass if desired. The only thing I don't like is that there isn't a volume control. But I'll live! I now there is better out there but there are MUCH worse!

    1. Sounds amazing. Good Bass. Note that I am not a audiophile. This is by far the best ear buds for the price I have bought. 2. Mic is very powerful. I use this to talk on my mobile regularly. The other person hears me clearly even in a busy train. 3. Works perfectly with Nexus 6P. I had other headphone/earbuds go crazy on Nexus 6P like google voice activates unexpectedly, volume increases/decreases automagically. Nothing like that happens with this ear bud with mic. 4. Seems durable but time will tell.

These exceeded my expectations. They have a great price-to-value ratio. They are well built, have great sound, solid bass, and plus they are designed to stay firmly in your ears when the cable is tugged a bit, similar to the the Skullcandy Fix. This makes them surprisingly good for use during exercise such as walking or hiking.

ought these to replace my Bose headphones and was pleasantly surprised on the crisp sound quality and tight bass. Fit is decent (bit larger due to design for extra bass), but comfortable in the ear. Glad that I picked up second pair for my son. They work fine for workouts - have them linked to my Galaxy S5. I also have used them inside my motorcycle helmet for a full sound vs the regular Scala system within the helmet.

I picked these up for use in an office environment . They are comfortable for long periods of time and are well insulated against background noise. The cord is long and flat and the blue color looks great. The sound quality was better than expected at this price point , sound was clean and there was some bass.
