This remote works very well for controlling the PS3. I would not recommend it to try to play games, but it works great for controlling DVDs. I have had this for about 1.5 months and haven't had any issues with light usage.

Purchased this at the best buy down the street to watch Netflix aon our ps3 and to have more user friendly blue ray/DVD viewing. The remote was easy to set up and works great. My only wish is that, as I'm now in my 40's, the buttons were marked a bit more clearly. Easily fixed with reading glasses.

My friends were living without a TV remote due to their kids losing it so I gave this to them to get the best out of both works to use with the ps3 and their non Sony tv. You can program this remote to work with over tvs

We have 3 PS3 systems in our home and have purchased these remotes for all 3. They work great and it's so much easier than using the gaming controller if you're like me and just using your PS3 for Netflix and other things.

This is a must have if you buy the PS3, of course, but it looks like every other remote in the house. Why can't they make these in colors to match the controllers!? It works just fine, but if it had been available in blue or red or any color except black it would get five stars instead of four.

Highly recommended for playing DVD's. It is a lot easier to control the dvd aspect with the remote than with the game controller.

Before getting this remote, I would just use the playstation controller for all the DVD and Blu Ray controls. Having this remote makes it work like any other Blu Ray player. So glad I got it! A great buy!

Son uses PS3 for watching TV (Netflix, Hulu, etc) and didnt have a remote was using the PS3 controller which I thought was dumb so I bought this for him and it works great. Was easily able to program TV to work with it.

Must-have for any PS3 owner. This is definitely a must-have accessory because it works with the Blu-ray player and Netflix. No need to use the dual shock controller to navigate through the video settings.

Its the best device i have for the ps3 so far. When i was watching movies using the controller for gaming it was a pain to find out where the options are for say the subtitles or scene selection etc

This remote makes your life so much easier with the PS3. It has all of the bells and whistles that you would want to operate the PS3 for games, movies, and navigating through the PS3 menu.

I only use my ps3 for media stuff now so the remote was the logical purchase. Smaller and easier to use than the ps3 controller and I no longer have to worry about chargIng. Very easy to use!

I purchased it as a replacement for my old remote for my PS3. The old one was damaged due to mis-use. It works fine and provided the expected functionality. I am happy with the purchase.

Works great with my ps3 and since my TV and stereo are both sony, I can control them using only this control. I especially liked that they included the Playstation face buttons on it too.

This remote is perfect and ridiculously easy to setup. I bought this after I got tired of using the controller for movies and Netflix. Have not picked up the controller since then.

I love it even more now because Sony has not come out with something similar for PS4. The functionality is great and I'm anxiously awaiting something similar to go with my PS4.

It has Bluetooth and an IR sensor which alowes it to control multiple devices including the TV. It also has a 3D button so if your TV is 3D ready it is simple to set up.
