ELITE GAMING SYSTEM. GRAPHICS ARE TREMENDOUS!

PROs: For the Price, you can't beat the PS4. Came out as the same price as the PS3 launch, which wins customers. Sound is Superb!! Once you piece everything together, then you've got a winner on your hands. CONs: There are only 15 plus games to choose from. Unless you have endless financial resources, then you'll need to buy certain items at a time; ie Extra Controller, then the Headset, then the Camera. There really aren't any cons but if you must look for something, constantly sold out almost everywhere you look.

Great innovative new console with superp graphic. However, psn is no longer free because you now have to pay 50 dollars per year. Other than that, everything is good. Highly recommended for people who want a new system. Also, it is cheaper than Xbox One by 100 dollars.

I waited awhile for this system and I was thrilled when I got it. The design is sleek and chic. The remotes are extremely comfortable and the 3D camera with facial recognition is the best I;ve seen outside of a smartphone. My only complaint is that you can't play any PS3 games on the console. I know Sony is working on that but not all PS3 game titles will be available and it won't be free of charge.

Sony's PS4 is truly amazing piece of equipment. Sleek, great menu design with subtle music, right out of the box it provides an experience any true gamer would appreciate. The console comes with an internal 500GB HDD; I purchased a Seagate 1TB Hybrid laptop HDD/SSD and found it really easy to upgrade the internal storage - it took me under 10 minutes. The new DualShock 4 controller is a vast improvement over the terribly flimsy PS3 DS3 controller sticks, and the speaker, touchplate and lightbar built into the controller add some great features to most games. I'm looking forward to a wider range of games becoming available later in 2014, especially Infamous and Destiny.

I have owned PS2, PS3 and now the PS4. The PS4 looks nice and it easy to setup. I have lots of friends who will buy an Xbox simply because they already are established on that ecosystem. The PS4 is really designed for gamers, they didn't waste time with all these home theater functions, that's what I have a smart remote for I can press a button to change my TV thank you very much. I have small kids and when they are asleep I don't want to be talking to my game console. I really don't share my gameplay, but I did try out the feature in Battlefield 4 and it was pretty painless to record 15 minutes of footage and upload to Facebook.

I am very happy with my purchase. However, even though the PS4 is a great system there are a few minor nuances. Let's start from the day I purchased my system. I was so excited it felt like it was Christmas or my Birthday but it was even better it was my wedding anniversary and my wife was about to spoil me. I had waited and not purchased the console at launch due to the poor performance and a bad experience with the PS3. I have always been a fan of Sony's systems and games so it was only a matter of time. I was not going to buy it for myself until it had proved itself worthy. However, to my surprise my wife had other plans in store for me. Now when I went to pick out the system I was told I could buy a game as well. Unfortunately, the selection was slim and sad. It has been over a half a year and there are barely any games for it. So I picked up two games FFXIV and then later that week Second Son. Both look amazing and I already play FFXIV on PC but for some reason it runs smoother on the PS4. The remote play feature on the vita is awesome and why I decided to get the game on PS4. So, now that I had my game it was time to run home and set it up on my home theater as soon as humanly possible. I get home, hook it up to my 55" LG LED and surround system, connect the controller to USB and then hit the power button. On my screen displays the famous Playstation Logo, then the 1st time setup screens appear and after navigating the menus and entering my information I finally boot into the main page of the System. I say main page because that is what it looks like, a social network site. OK, now it's time to get my game on. But hold up, I decided I want to test the other features before I lose the next few hours of my life to the land of Eorzea. So I grab a 3D Blu Ray movie and put it in the system. Nope, does not work. OK so maybe the system does not support 3D, how about just regular Blu Ray? Yes, the regular Blu Rays play just fine. Next, I decided I want to see what kind of sound this system can put out so I grab my favorite CD and... nope... does not work either. Wow, this was upsetting. Why in this day in age, can I watch movies but can't listen to music? Whatever, not a deal breaker I bought this thing for games. So let's move on. I put in the FFXIV disc and perform the setup, everything goes fine. The game boots up and the games looks fantastic, no complaints. Later that week, I get a chance to play again. Life is hectic we have responsibilities and we can't always play everyday, even though we wish we could. Now, I have been playing FFXIV since the PC launch and it looks great on my PC and now it looks just as great on the PS4. However, like most gamers we need variety. So I decided to pick up Second Son. After making my purchase I go home, open the game, power on the PS4 and... nothing. The system beeps 3 times and shuts off. "OK?", I think to myself. Maybe this is just a fluke. Try to power it on again, nothing just 1 beep. Third time must be the charm, right? Nope, nothing. The system just tries to boot up but then turns right back off. Now at this point I am thinking I have a bad system but instead of returning it I decide I should check the internet and see if anyone else if having this issue. Well not to my surprise, there were others also having the same issue. The solution? Boot into safe mode. OK so what, my PS4 is now a PC? What should I expect next, the blue screen of death? So I follow the online instructions, boot my system into safe mode and select "Change Resolution". The PS4 reboots and what do you know, I finally see that beautiful Playstation Logo again. It's a bit pixelated since the resolution is 480P but I could care less. I can go into the settings and change it back to 1080P. The important thing is that I can get my game on now. The voice of the internet also suggested turning off HDCP, never leaving the system in standby mode and changing a few other settings. So here we are today. Almost 2 months have passed since I brought my little bundle of joy home. Things have been a roller coaster of emotions, it's always keeping me up at night and constantly needing my attention. The sync issues have improved since the last update but occasionally I still have to boot into safe mode and unfortunately here are still very few games. However, if E3 is any indication of what's to come. Then I am very excited to watch my library of games grow and I look forward to the days ahead where we will spend hours playing with each other. Pros: Great Graphics Good Price compared to XB1 Solid and sexy UI Great online infrastructure Cons: HDCP sync issues with some tv's Lack of games Lack of features (though expected to increase with patches) Overall: I would recommend this as a buy. If you enjoy games and the exclusives that Sony has to offer then this is the platform for you.

    Half of generation leap

I was torn on either to get a PS4 or Xbox1. A lot of my friends are Xbox loyalists so I considered switching so I could play online with them. However, I am also a big baseball fan which Sony has the only baseball game out (not counting RBI baseball as one). I've never had any problems with my PS3 and Sony, in my opinion, gives a good value on PSNetwork over Xbox Live, although now it seems like Microsoft is following in Sony's footsteps. I got the PS4 and wow it is much quicker than the PS3, it has adapted the whole, app switching, similar to a mobile phone. Graphics are better as well but it's not a jaw dropping difference. Overall I am happy with the purchase, MLB the show is a great game for baseball fans and looks pretty good on the PS4 as well. I would like to see 3D bluray be supported as my PS3 can do that, and the Controller Battery life is maybe half the strength as the PS4. I would consider this generation as a half of generation leap not as big of a difference as PS2 and XBox to PS3 and XBox 360

When I bought my PS4 at the midnight launch, I was dreading that I would get one with a faulty HDMI or white light of death that I was reading about. Luckily mine worked flawlessly out of the box. It updated with no problems and I was surfing the web and watching Netflix with no issues at all. I am excited to see what next gen games are capable of on the PS4. The graphics and performance of BF4 is great on this system. Playstation Live is also a pretty cool feature where you can watch live streaming of other players playing games or just messing around on the playstation camera entertaining the people typing in the comments. The controller has a nice facelift with a neat touchpad which you can use to scroll a pointer like a laptop in some games. The light on top of the controller changes color depending on player or action during gameplay but there is no option to turn it off so it does drain the battery. The better life of the controller is ok but it is rechargeable. Overall you should pick one up if you happen to find one.

honestly i was the first person in the best buy store in Springfield Missouri to get my console on the midnight release when i got it home the graphics made my jaw drop they were so life like it was to amazing. the only reason why i took back my console to best buy was the psn didn't have enough content to keep me happy so i returned my console and will buy another console later on when sony finally adds more games to the psn and adds more content the controllers battery didn't stay charged long that was a big problem for me and i left them on the charger over night and that didn't seem to help them went dead pretty quick so that is a con but other then that amazing console and amazing graphics it is worth the purchase.

If you happen to be on the fence about whether to get a playstion4 or an xbox one, it depends what you are into. Chances are if you are looking into buying a video game console, then games are the priority and everything else takes a back seat. Being an owner of both the xbox one and the playstation4, it's clear if you are into gameplay and graphics and want games running the best they can, playstation4 is the way to go. There are a multitude of games that are multi-console, and not only do they look better on the ps4, they also play better. Xbox one has it's advantages in the tv - voice operated arena, but for the best game experience, buy the ps4 you will not regret it!

As with any console, you should know not to buy the first batch as they often have kinks. Such is the case with the PS4. It's amazing and by itself it works extremely well. Amazing graphics, intuitive interface, superior controller/mic combo. Many articles have been written that PS4 is the best console at the moment for pure gaming. It's not so much an "entertainment center" as it doesn't try to connect your other devices like it's competitor. It simply is made for gaming. The games are the biggest problem right now. There aren't many of them and come of them are REALLY buggy. Take need for speed for example, if you don't buy the disc from the store, expect to be very disappointed when you download and everything loads except for the gas pedal. You have to look up on the internet how to generate a work around. Surprisingly, with the PS4, it's the free games that are the best. The game warframe which crosses over the PC with the PS4 is probably my favorite and it's free. My least favorite have been Killzone and the big name games that the magazines say are the best. They are difficult to say the least and aren't as much fun as you would think (though they look amazing). Finally, it has to be said that there is no disappointment greater than the slow release of things like the PS4 camera. You think you don't want it but then you buy the PS4 and realize that the best parts of it are the creative bizarre games that are free or low cost. One such element is the playroom where you can create toys to play with and interact with little virtual critters. It works with the camera only, and there is only one camera and it currently sells on ebay for double what it will when sony finally makes enough product. It's sad. Still, in the long run, this system surpasses the others. It is functionally more powerful and the cross-over with the PC world (new FF online is another example) has some interesting possibilities. Though one area that has already been noticeable is that the console bombs when running more advanced graphical settings that a PC could handle. Give it about 6 months and then go for it.

So if you're like me, you just want to know why you should buy a PS4 instead of an Xbox One. There are several reasons. The PS4 controller is ten times more comfortable. The new triggers, touch pad, and speaker were the perfect additions. If I had to make changes, I would have added a mic into the controller and increased the rumble feature. PS4 has always offered uninhibited access to its array of third party apps (ie netflix, etc.). Microsoft forced you to subscribe to their premium service to get access to the internet and third party apps. Playstation leads the way in giving consumers what they want. Microsoft wasn't going to have simple game sharing, so they changed their policies to the same as Playstation. Playstation was cheaper and the camera is sold separately, so now Xbox is cheaper because they are selling the camera separately. Playstation has been giving away free games every month for its premium service subscribers (Playstation Plus), so Microsoft announced it will start giving free games. Notice a pattern here. If you want a system with a company who cares about its costumer and is going to offer the best gaming experience while also adding just the right amount of additional home entertainment, get a PS4. If you want a system that will turn its back on gamers to get a niche in other markets all the while nickel and diming you for every possible service or feature, get an Xbox One.
