I've wanted a PS5 for a while now. Ironically, it has less to do with any PS5-exclusive games (you can count those on one hand, pretty much), but after getting a 4K TV, I wanted to see just how big of a difference there was in my existing PS4 library...plus, I wanted a PS5 anyway. Given the problematic microchip shortage (still aching to get a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, thanks scalpers), I wasn't confident in getting one of these anytime soon, not to mention the rampant scalping that is still ongoing.
I got a month of the Premium Plus membership, which I also heartily recommend, especially for those who are just starting too dip their toes into video games. It's a real good deal. Played through all of Dark Pictures: Little Hope and Ys IX, and a few game trials and more. It's at its best on the PS5, BTW. The system is excellent, but I should mention that at this time, it's essentially a "Super PS4 Pro". I know that this is consistent with new systems, and it appears that current global events are putting the stranglehold on more innovation, but I am glad to see some really awesome PS5 games coming soon, especially Alan Wake 2, Street Fighter 6, and more.
I've just gotta say it. The system looks weird, and weirder still on its side. It comes with a base that does the job, but like my wife described it, it looks "melted". My own opinion, I think it's too much design, but don't judge a book by its cover. The system and interface is exceptional, and gameplay is wonderful. The controller has even more heft to it than the PS4 DualShock, probably thanks to all the little motors in it delivering haptic feedback. This takes a lot of getting used to, but it's so novel that I'm more intrigued by it than anything else.
I'm really glad to get one of these, even if it was at full MSRP. (I usually wait for Black Friday deals, but given the current climate for microprocessors and the demand of these, I wasn't counting on this for at least a couple of years.) For anyone who has struggled to get one, really just request an invite. No obligation, but mine literally shipped and arrived the day I ordered it.

I had been gaming on my regular ps4 with an external hard drive for quite a while and eventually I started not liking game anymore because of how ling everything took to load and the looks of games no longer made me feel excited. When I managed to get the ps5 and started to play some games the loading times were fast. It all really just depends on what game you ate actully playing though. Some ps4 games have long intros you cant skip so the loading didnt really seem faster in that situation. Although when I was playing Horizon Zero Dawn the loading time was slightly faster. I didnt time it but it did feel a bit faster but once I got in game is where the ps5 blew me away. Ive been so use to 30 fps that once I moved my camera a bit to the right I was freaking out. From the looks of it I was getting a higher resolution than 1080p and the frame rate was at least 60 fps. It had to be. When I looked around the world the camera turned so smooth I was ecstatic. Not only that though, when Alloy started walking I could tell the difference in the way she ran on the ps5 vs the ps4 it was night and day clear difference. The whole world looked even better which astonished me because I thought it looked nice on the ps4 but on the ps5 it looked breathtaking. It felt like a completely different game. One thing I will add on top of all of this is that when I put my hand near the ps5 I felt cool air coming out of it and only towards the back of the ps5 where all the hdmi and all the other ports are it felt slightly warm. That I was not expecting. Hopefully that means that the ps5 was built to last. I could say so much more but at this point Id just be repeating myself which wouldnt make much sense because everything ive said already shows that the ps5 is next gen.

I was skeptical when I first bought my PS5 after reading the reviews and major differences between the two consoles. First thing I noticed was how much bigget the PS5 is; it’s a small spaceship when you compare the two. Once I got it hooked up though I instantly noticed the differences. The picture and graphics on my Sony 4k TV were much better than I expected after reading the reviews. The transfer from my PS4 to the PS5 was seemless and quick! Much faster than PS4 1st gen to PS4 Pro. After downloading the crossover versions of MW2, COD Cold War and Tony Hawk the game launch was also much faster than I anticipated. It is almost instant. The game play was what I was waiting to try out. The pressure sensitive triggers took some time getting used to but eventually I got used to it. The graphics and blur are soooo much better than I expected. The installation of the internal hard drive was easy and quick and the formatting didn’t take but maybe 5 minutes. Overall I am extremely pleased and happy with my upgrade. If you are wondering if it’s worth it, it definitely is.

Owned a PS2 & PS4 in the past. It was time to finally upgrade to a PS5. Though, I am not a heavy gamer, I still play some open-world games and NBA2K. Owned this for about a week and it has been terrific. I paired this with my Sony Bravia X90J and the quality has been terrific while playing COD: Modern Warfare II & NBA2K 23 (Standard Edition). Here and there, I also watch some of my 4K Blu-ray movies and they still look great :) The Best Buy associates that helped me with my trade-ins for this PS5 were extremely helpful and patient.

It was time to finally give in and upgrade from the Ps4 to the Ps5 so that my kids would stop teasing me. I tell ya what…it looks much more appealing though slightly oversized. It starts up quicker than lightening. Runs smooth and quiet. Definitely need to add more storage.

The PlayStation five in every way, shape and form is better than the PS4, but it doesn’t has some problems one this consul is an absolute unit and it’s hard to fit into my 32 inch TV stand and the stand that it comes with feels like it doesn’t grip onto the TV stand like some other consuls so plugging in the USB-C for the controller my consul will rotate and get push back two the new controller is amazing. It feels great, but it’s adaptive triggers gets a little bit annoying for most games first party Sony titles like Spider-Man feels absolutely amazing but third-party games a call of duty and need for speed doesn’t utilize them as well and sometimes gets in the way or it’s just a waste of battery life three if you have a TV that is under 4K you need to upgrade to enjoy this consul to its fullest I upgraded from a 1080p to a 4K and it was night and day on how games looked felt and played so if you get TV that is 4K it will make your gaming experience, so much more enjoyable on so many more levels

Playstation 5 is awesome. The graphics are amazing and the gameplay is tremendous. I normally play XBOX console and games but after purchasing PS5, forget about it XBOX. I purchased a bundle from Best Buy the PS5 and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and the price was reasonable at $569.00, I couldn’t beat that so I bought it asap and picked it up at BB. I got COD and MK and I am very happy to play these games. Sony did a awesome job on PS5 and thank you Best Buy!!! The only issue I noticed is that the wireless controller battery use a lot of battery life so you need to charge it all the time.

As someone that’s been waiting for 3 years to purchase a PS5, my dream came true. The performance jump from the PS4 to PS5 is huge. Loading times are nonexistent, 60+ FPS in most PS5 titles, 120 hz display, 4k and my favorite part, almost no loud fan noise.

My son purchased the PS 5 & has loved it since he purchased it. He paired the PS 5 with a new monitor a Samsung Odyssey Neo series that just came out around the same time at the PS 5. Together they make the ultimate gaming experience. The graphics run very smoothly & there isn't any lag time. The controller is very similar to the previous PS models. He plays it every chance he gets. The PS 5 has another great concept in that you can personalize the cover to your own style & favorite colors. It's not just the controllers that can be personalized now.

Graphics on the PS5 are better some of my games I had both versions of the difference really was impressive. The load times are much faster. The console is bulkier that the slim lines of the PS4 and the new controller charges with a USB C and not the micro USB . Overall happy with the upgrade.

The PS5 is a powerful gaming console. I love the immersive DualSense controller's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. While the base model is a great value, the PS5 offers superior performance, especially in enhanced games, but its benefits may not be significant for everyone.
