Its nice to have a subscription i wish it would be proced cheaper though

Getting this was a great idea because my kids can now play online with friends

It sucks that they force us to buy it to play online but worth the benefits.

If you don't currently have PSN +, I would recommend going out and getting this 12 month card. In addition to free games every month, you also get discounts on titles. There are some other perks of PSN + like cloud game saves, and automatic updates to firmware. But the best part is the games. As long as you are a PSN Plus + subscriber you have access to the free games every month. For example last month Saint's Row the Third was one of the free games, this month one of the free games is Battlefield 3.

PSN is a great service but is still plagued by some shotty service at times

While they do limit the number of PS4/PS3 you can have on an account, this is still a great option for active users, or parents of active users. Getting it on any type of sale is a bonus. If on sale, buy at any time and then use when current one expires (even a year away). Also, another option is checking Fry's Promo Codes as they have it on sale there from time to tome.

PS4 requires this membership and as such why not get it while its on sale.

PS Plus is purely optional and your membership will carry over to the PS4. You get great discounts and free games! No brainer.

It's a necessary evil, a very fair price for a year's worth of online play but I wish the monthly free game offerings were of a little more quality. Still though, can't complain too much with the offering of free games to play, just would like something more than indie titles every month from ps plus.

Got a nice discount from Best Buy on the typical fee for PSN membership.

Fair price for the PSP membership. Discount for buying a game was nice.
