The in home streaming lags behind other solutions - most notably steam streaming or the nvidia shield's implementation. Being locked to 30fps and 720p - and there still being a 200ms latency ( this is the same as the vita itself, but it's less noticiable) is not really a fun time.
As a device for Vita games, when they are compatible it's great. P4G is excellent on the device.

Okay this is simple to use for games ( not all Vita games that uses more touch screen controlling will work from PS1, 3, 4, PSP (Didigtal only). No Netflix and other major video streaming apps which is a bummer in a way. Now if gaming through the streams is what you like this is great and the games I been playing on that i do own.

I love my Vita. I love my PS4. I love my Vita TV. Being able to play P4G on the big screen is what makes this worth the purchase in itself. Also all of the old Final Fantasy games just like the old days! I definitely recommend this even you don't have a Vita or Vita games! It's like a tiny Playstation that you can take anywhere to plug into any TV no matter where you go. The remote play feature helps too.

This tiny device packs a punch with what it can do. If there were/are PSP gems of games you want(ed) to play, on top of Vita games naturally, this is an affordable multimedia device currently costing only $40! It's essentially a Vita without the screen; hence the price. Being thicker & slightly larger than an I.D. card, it's very portable. It streams your PS4, plays PS1 games, your personal music, has apps for streaming PS3 games, movies & shows, built-in web browser, personal email link, etc.
The device features built-in wi-fi as well as a wired port for a more reliable, faster connection, a USB port, HDMI output (cable included), a slot for expandable proprietary memory (not included),1 GB of built-in memory & a Vita slot for physical ownershiped games. It outputs resolution at 480P, 720P & 1080i. If you use a PS4 controller with PSTV rather than a PS3 controller, it can simulate Vita's touchscreens when Vita games require it.
Overall, I feel this has great value for the price. If ever there were a time you wanted to play all those exclusive must-have games but were found only on Sony's handheld, this is it!

I originally got this before I got my PS 4 and was very happy with being able to use it to play PS vita games and the like. I am also very happy with the fact that I can now use it along with my PS 4 to play games in other rooms without having to move my ps 4 every time. Very reasonably priced and easy to use right out of the box without complicated instructions or hours of update time like with my PS 4.

It's okay for playing most Vita and PSP games on. Streaming from the PS4 is pretty cool. Originally bought this to replace the old PS3 in the bedroom that's mostly used for Netflix at this point. Well, the PSVita version of Netflix doesn't work on the PSTV and there's conflicting information out there about whether or not it does. Since I got the thing on sale though, not a big deal.

Had some trouble updating the firmware for some reason, and had to retry it about five times.... not sure if it was me or PSTV, but I have never encountered a similar problem in the past, so....
After rocky start, we got it up and running....I had seen people mention the UI, but did not think I would be bothered by it...I was wrong....You can get used to it. but they should have sucked it up and built a better one.
As for remote play....if you are serious about gaming, the performance hit and lag will likely be a deal breaker. It works for casual games and casual gamers just fine, but that is about it.

PS TV is like having a PS Vita on your TV screen basically. I really just purchased it to play some PS one classics I always wanted to play. One dislike I could say is I don't like how it's not 1080p and you have to spend a lot of extra money on a controller and a memory stick, once you get past that it's pretty good for the money I was lucky to buy it for 60$ on a deal of the day .

Bought this for my wife. She loves that it gives her the ability to play her ps4 games in another room and she can play Playstation vita games through it. So we were psyched to see Uncharted Golden Abyss on the screen. The only thing that needs improvement is the connectivity. It even turns on your console. So it's pretty cool. Not sure why this hasn't taken off. It's awesome.

This device is a very mixed bag: it does much LESS than most would expect, and only does what it can do decently at best.
For people who want this to play Vita/PSP games on a big screen TV, this device is just ok. It does NOT play all Vita games; of the ones I did get to work, most were indie titles. It does play some popular titles (like Minecraft), but the majority of Vita titles and apps aren't supported. The games that DO work, however, work rather well for the most part. For games that require touch screen, there is a feature included for some games (Killzone Mercenary) that lets you mimic the touch screen with an analog stick, but it works very poorly and I wouldn't recommend it. Other than that though, games feel responsive with a Dualshock.
For people who want this as a box for streaming Netflix or Hulu Plus, look elsewhere. Those apps are not supported at all. For a device with "TV" in its title, this is unacceptable.
For people who want to Stream PS3 games to this device via PS Now or do PS4 Remote Play, this device is only decent. Picture quality isn't compromised much and streams can even reach 60fps, but input lag can be a problem for many games (you WILL notice it). I played on a wireless connection, and while I didn't experience any disconnects, lag was a big issue. I wouldn't call it completely unplayable; you get used to the lag after a while and most games play fine with it. It's very much less than ideal, but you get what you pay for.
This barebones device has other problems too: the UI is poorly designed for a big screen and controller, no 1080p mode, it uses expensive Vita memory cards, etc. What it can do is done better on other (albeit more expensive) devices, and even pairing it with a PS4 doesn't make it that much more useful. I can see this device becoming more useful when Sony's streaming technology improves, but for now I'd say avoid it.

The device itself is super easy to set up and offers some decent options. Streaming works well (e.g. Hulu) and it does a good job of playing some of my Vita games (nice to see them on the big screen), however I haven't yet tried PS4 streaming which I've heard is hit or miss. Overall, at $40, I felt this was worth trying out and I'm not entirely disappointed.

I use this a lot to stream my ps4 gaming from my system in my bedrom to the living room when I get a chance to use the big t.v.. I do wonder why the device does not have netflix or hulu support. Worth the price of a game in some intances. Can plug ps vita games into the device and play on big screen. The device impresses and I am glad I spent the money on this.

If you have a PS4 or a Vita, then this is a great addition. It makes remote play simple. For instance, playing the PS4 that's located in the living room from your bedroom. There is some lag, but for most games it is minimal, and doesn't affect gameplay at all. On it's own, there's not a lot it can do, but you can play the PSX classics on it, unlike the PS4.

This should be a five star review for the Playstation TV. Too bad Sony didn’t bother to support this wonderful device to the extent that you can only see glimmers of functionality that could have been.
It seems so simple – the guts of the Playstation Vita without the screen. Unfortunately, the loss of the touch screen produces compatibility issues that exclude many Vita titles from play on the device. The fact that Sony neglected to provide YouTube and NetFlix Apps (although they are accessible though the HTML 5 compliant web browser) is inexcusable for a device that should be in direct competition with Roku and FIreTV.
So if this sounds all negative – it isn’t. This is the best micro console available at retail – access to hundreds upon hundreds of great Vita, PSP, PS1, PS Mini and PS Mobile games. It makes the Ouya look like amateur consumer electronics (which it sort of is…). All this and remote play with the Playstation 4 – your mileage may vary with the capabilities of you home network.
All and all I love this device. A shame that Sony is only dipping it’s toe into the water with the Playstation TV – it could be so much better with just little additional software and marketing support.

I never owned a PS Vita so I never cared about remote play, however when I heard that the PS TV would allow me to use PS4 remote play I was intrigued. Now to the important details after I set this up in my room. (have in mind I only bought this to play my PS4 in my room without having the actual console there) Remote Play will support most PS4 games (not all) and for better connectivity use an ethernet cable cause wifi tends to have weaker signal & resolution will be flickering between cheap pixelated image and high definition. I have 4 PS4 controllers, 1 which stays directly (not literally) connected to the PS TV. Controls are responsive & there is very little lag but aside from games, I use 4 main apps in my ps4 which out of all those only one works properly. Crunchyroll works perfectly fine but Netflix, WWE, & YouTube will make the remote play crash. (Unless it was updated for those apps) This was my main issue, other than that it would've been perfectly fine.
P.S. Oh, there is one way you can by pass to use YouTube via remote play & that's by using the PS4's browser & searching up "YouTube.com/tv" or something like that.

The Playstation TV is a wonderful system for playing Vita games on your TV. Some games are not playable understandably due to touch only controls. Other games are not playable without any real reason. I'd reccommend looking at a compatibility list to make sure the games you want to play are actually playable. Otherwise, it is good for a lot of vita, psp, and ps1 games. All of this said, anyone looking for an all-in-one tv device like the amazon fire or chromecast might want to look elsewhere. The current offerings are limited and a more varied selection can be found on other devices. However, I bought this to play vita and psp games on my tv and this is a great solution for that and I love it so far.

PS4 streaming works really well sometimes, but there is slightly noticeable lag which makes some games hard to play. Racing games for sure are affected by it and I'm sure that fighters would have problems as well. Dragon Age Inquisition worked well.

This product does exactly what I bought it for with few issues. I can now play my vita games on a TV with this product and if someone is watching a movie on the TV I can now play my PS4 with the streaming feature. I give it a 4 because there is a little lag but not to bad in you use a wired connection.
