this device plays nearly all ps vita games at a 720p resolution. it also plays all psp and psone games from your psn library. it does not have an memory card, controller, or usb cable so additional purchase is necessary. i purchased a dual shock 4 for this but it also works with dual shock 3s.

A good system for those with a library full of Playstation Classics, as well as PSP and select PS Vita games, but a lack of Netflix functionality and the absence of any other major streaming service means it won't replace your set-top box. Additionally, if you have a strong internet connection, you might get some use out of the remote play function for PS4.

I've owned every Sony console and handheld since the PS1 days, so I was very excited about the potential of the PS TV when it was first announced, but unfavorable reviews both in the US and overseas kept me from purchasing one until it received a price drop. If you own a PS Vita, or even have a number of games through your PS+ subscription, this is a great way to play them on your big screen. I can't speak to the PS Now aspect of this as I haven't use it, but I have used the PS4 link (which allows you to connect to your PS4 located in another room and play it on the TV that has your PS TV connected to it) and it works much better than I expected. Streaming digital games seems to work a little better than games off a disc, but I honestly haven't noticed much lag - if any. The fact that my rooms are next to each other might help - but my PS4 is hardwired while my PS TV is connected via Wifi. In the end, the PS TV struggled to not live up to expectations - which I agree with. The fact that some people have had issues with the PS4 link also keep it from being great. But, if you're heavy into the Sony ecosystem and have a desire to either play Vita games on your TV or play your PS4 from another room, the PS TV is a good value for the money.

I have my ps4 and pstv hardwired on my home network. Remote play works flawlessly with very little lag. It is almost not noticeable. I just played The Witcher 3 for two hours with no frame rate drop or lost connections.

The in-house remote play feature of the PS TV is fantastic and justifies this device completely. It allows me to play my PS4 in another room when my family wants to use the primary TV. Also, as a PS+ member (and a Vita owner) I already had a library of games ready to go for this device. Set your expectations right and you won't be disappointed.

If you own a PS4 then PS TV adds an all-new element to your set-up, one that enables you to carry on playing your favourite games via Remote Play, even after being kicked off the living room television. In addition, with the ability to play plenty of games on the PS Store already, most of which are at cut-down prices, you can game at a discount.

Needs More VITA and PSP Games

Claiming this thing can play a bunch of games is a marketing ploy, as most people wouldn't buy this to play only old games, and less than 5% of the retail vita releases. It is good at what it does, but you will quickly fill up an 8 or 16Gb with a handful of decent games, and more than a few will fill up a 32Gb quite easily. They need to bring over or standardize the Japanese 64Gb, or a 128Gb card needs to release. A 4Gb is a joke, unless you intend to purely use this to stream Playstation Now games. There is no internal memory on board like the slim has 1Gb, but the wifi signal and ethernet are sufficient for remote play or streaming as long as you have the bandwith behind your connection for it to devour. They just really need to patch more Vita games to be compatible with it.

For remote play: it's as good as your internet connect; at both ends. I have downloaded a couple of Vita games to it, but it was never my primary focus. If you're expecting to play a FPS on Remote Play (Far Cry 4 for example), don't expect much in terms of control. If you're trying to play Arkham Knight on it, then yeah, it'll be tolerable.

    Not Sony's Strongest Product

I bought this console primarily to stream my PS4 in the bedroom and while that feature does technically work it does not work very well. There is always a considerable amount of lag that makes playing games really difficult as most require precise timing in your inputs. The lag also downgrades the visual experience quite a bit. I own a PS Vita which also has this feature and for some reason it works much better on the handheld. The PS Vita TV is also lacking in the features department so expect not to find a Netflix or Crackle app. The console plays standard PS Vita cartridges and to that extent it does an admirable job. It is great to be able to play a Vita game on your flat screen but once the novelty wears off it becomes less of a reason to boot this little system up. I also want to mention that the Vita TV has almost no internal storage space so you will have to purchase a proprietary Sony memory card which can run you anywhere from $30 to $70. I really wish I could recommend this product because it is very cool in concept but unfortunately lacks in execution. If you want to play a PS Vita on your TV this is a great product but if you are coming for the PS4 remote play or entertainment apps you will be disappointed.

PS TV has some nice features which include connect and play PS4 game wirelessly. Ability to play some PS Vita games over your big TV screen but not all due to touch screen incompatibility. If these two features are important to you, then this mini console is right choice for you. Otherwise, it's pretty useless. I personal think SONY should add youtube and netflix apps to the PS TV so that customers will be able to watch video from PS TV and it will definitely make it more attractive for people to get one of this.

There is a definite lack of support for this product from Sony. There are notable video apps missing, such as Netflix and cable providers lole Comcast. In terms of games, ps1 Games like crash bandicoot are not available for whatever reason and the ps3 streaming, whilst excellent... Is crazy expensive. What it does do though, it does well and if you are a PS+ subscriber then the free games each month would be a welcome addition. I however will be spending much more time with my Xbox one and nvidia shield TV.

A nice way to have access to PlayStation's Applications like Youtube, Facebook, Netflix, WWE Network & may others. Able to stream PS4/PS3 games to other TVs in your home. Able to play PSP, PS Vita games on your TV as well. A nice little device to have.

Overalll the product isn't horrible. It does playing vita games on your TV really well. Where it fails at is streaming the games. The lack of Netflix apps and the lag on streaming games really prevented this from being great. If you're like me and only want to play your games on a bigger screen this is great.

I like Sony... I have all their gaming consoles and thoroughly enjoy them however, this I am not sure how to feel about. I bought it and got a great deal on it, I really tried to like it but it doesn't feel complete. PlayStation Now (where you can stream PS3 games through Internet) and PS4 link are great features and work really good with high Internet speeds. PS Vita games are really good as well (although not every game runs on it). But the main reason I bought this was to have in a room to stream Netflix and Hulu for the most part. The PlayStation TV, inspite that it has TV on its title, is not made for that in mind. The Netflix, HBO, or the Amazon Prime app is nowhere to be found and Hulu is not supported. I called and the representative said they had removed apps and some are no longer supported. You can get streaming devices for cheaper and in 1080p (PS TV is 720p). If you are looking to play PlayStation 4 games in another room while the console is in the living room, this might be for you (there will be lag, specially in fighting or FPS games), but if you are looking for a great overall product, you can do better elsewhere.

I bought this system included witht the play station 4 bundle. I have to say it's pretty cool. Love how we can keep the ps4 in the living room for the family and instead of purchasing a new consul we can connect and play/ watch and use it in the room just as we would with the ps4. Very small easy to use.

First off, I am not a Vita owner so the Vita games do not interest me. I bought the PSTV to remotely play my ps4. For that, it is great with a strong internet connection. Even big games, like the Witcher 3, stream well with a wired or strong wifi connection. A poor connection will not work

Given the new sale pricing that this gets, it makes an excellent solution for a spare TV. The lag prevents this from being a good primary gaming solution. Also, since you are likely paying for playstation plus, its nice to get some additional games for the vita to be played on the PS TV

I got this on sale and the main reason I bought it was thinking that I can play a lot of my psvita games on TV. This does not play any psvita games that you may have bought physically. And even if your library is mostly digital, it can only play a few select games that sony approved. The best use for the Playstation TV is to stream your PS4 to another TV if you don't want to move it. However, I believe that the resolution is still stuck on 720p.

I received this item free with PS4 bundle purchase. After trying it for a day or two, I went right back to using one of the many consoles in my home. It wouldn't play Netflix and was only partially compatible when gaming. At a much lower cost than another console, its functional and can be useful but most people who buy a PS4 already have other consoles that can out perform the PlayStation TV. Its an add-on, at best. Definitely not a "must have."
