Reception is very good for this little radio with or with out extending the attached antenna. The ability to use ear phones or not is handy, especially in the middle of the night. Great radio for the price.

Bought this as a replacement for Grandpa and loves it. It’s small. Light weight. Easy to use and the 2 AA batteries last a long time. Picks up signal very good too. Dial is Analog but what do you expect for the low price. Still great value from Sony. It also comes with a little string to hold it safely.

Everything being manual is a big benefit. I purchased one for me and one for my mother. It's very easy to use. The antenna swings out to about 270 degrees and extends almost 2 feet. The battery door remains attached and swings open so you won't lose it. The included hand strap you can install makes it that more secure that you won't accidentally drop it if around your wrist. The sound is nice and loud. Ear phone jack on the side. Green battery indicator light and red tuning indicator light on the front. Other than the 2 AA batteries required but not included, there is no other power source available.

It a great small am/fm radio. You can't beat the price and it works great. I use an earphone in it every night and I love it. It's the perfect radio for a minimalist.

This is a simple, lightweight, easy to use old-school radio. Sometimes it's hard to find your station because they are very close together. I had to turn the dial carefully and the antenna in circles repeatedly until I could find the clearest signal. Once found, the antenna does stay put. I like the option to operate off batteries or power cord and has a headphone jack.

This handy little Sony radio is the PERFECT size to have available during emergencies and uses only 2 AA batteries. Unfortunately, we have hurricanes in Florida and we are guaranteed to lose our power. Hurricanes are scary enough, but having this radio you can stay connected and have a little comfort knowing what is going on outside! The size & quality are GREAT!!!

This transistor radio is compact, easy to use, and has clear reception. It is able to receive stations that are outside of a local area easily. This is my second Sony transistor radio and I have found that the two AA batteries that power the radio last a long time.

After my 6 expensive C batteries drained in 3 days, twice from my boom box and having to use 2 - 20 ft outdoor cords to plug it in instead to use while gardening, I thought I'd try this radio. It's WONDERFUL. All the 5 star reviews are right. I don't even need the antenna extended. There is no static, tuning was easy, there is no vibration or sound distortion when turned on loud and it's smaller than my small hand and light. 2 AA batteries are supposed to last 100 hours. It will do just fine for gardening or even some of the car shows that I attend or even transporting music from room to room. It's a Great bargain for the price and sound.

Good so far. I would have preferred the antenna built into earbuds. Reception is pretty good. It's lightweight and small. I like it.

Very happy with the Sony Portable AM/FM Radio we purchased for our elderly mother. It's easy for her to use and the clarity is excellent. The radio is small enough that she takes it with her throughout the house. Great purchase for a great price! We highly recommend it!

This radio was perfect for mom who wanted a simple small radio for her bathroom counter to be able to listen to the local morning news station while getting ready for the day. As she has a bit of a hearing problem, the tone and volume out of the radio allows her to hear it fairly well!

Great buy one cannot find these transistor radios anymore. Comes in handy for me and my use. Just glad I was able to find it at Best Buy seeing I have been looking for this radio all over and was not able to find it. Works great and I have no issues with it. Has the best volume and easy to work.

Wanted small radio to listen to at night if I had trouble going to or staying asleep. Hadn't realized this doesn't come with earplug, but adding one made it work for me. Position of the controls are easy to identify in the dark, which is perfect for me: volume is above the earplug jack, tuning on the other side top, with on/off being an up or down switch. Tone is good for a small radio, particularly for voices, which is perfect for me as I listen to public radio.

Radio is great. Nice to have portable to take with you on the go, as well as being both am/fm. Radio is pretty clear and has an antenna extension if you need to have that. Only requires two AA batteries. Would definitely recommend.

I really like my little Sony portable am/fm radio. I have been looking for a small radio that I can use with or without earphones, and this really fits the bill. It is simple and small enough to carry wherever I go. The tuning is a little sensitive, but that is not a big issue for me. I was really glad to find out that this style radio is still available. I liked it so well, I bought my daughter one. She has been looking for this type radio for awhile.

I bought the Sony battery operated AM/FM portable radio for my hurricane kit. Could have used it during hurricane Irma. I have tried it out and it works fine. The volume is quite good for it's size and it is easy to tune in to all the major AM/FM stations with the included antenna. But you will need two AA batteries which are not included. I highly recommend this light portable radio for when the power goes out.
