I am reviewing after testing these thoroughly for almost a day. Most other reviews are giving this product two stars because of pre order issues. Bottom line: these earbuds are quite pricey for what they are. Only buy them if you “need” a pair of in-ear-buds for your PlayStation 5 or Portal. They sound absolutely fantastic but you can find other great sounding earbuds for similar price if not cheaper. These do have Bluetooth capability but it is kneecapped as it is not their primary function. Yes you can pair it with anything and make a call or listen to music but that is about it. The on board controls do not work for Bluetooth. Plain and simple - they are five stars when used for their intended purpose - you want an in ear buds for PlayStation or low lag ones for Portal. They truly shine in this department and not so much for the other.

I got these because I was tired of my over the head headset. it was big and bulky and hurt after a while of using them. I was able to snag a pre-order of these and used them intensely over the weekend. Pros: Great sound quality Can hear a lot of details (make sure to swap tips around to find the right ones.) Connects seamlessly to the PS5 The dual connection is great, I like to watch videos while I play games and being able to hear both my ps5 and laptop at the same time is an amazing feature. Microphone is okay, not bad not great. Noise rejection for the microphone is fantastic. The headphones quick charge. I timed them and they charge about 50% in 10 minutes. Cons: No Sidetone/Voice

Solid ear buds. Sound great and setup was easy. Price point is a little high and they do disconnect sometimes. However it takes only a second to re-pair them.

These are expensive but inzone costs the same. And these connect wireless to the portal. I have had B&W, Nakamichi, ect. High-end stuff so I know what sounds good. These buds sound amazing, they really do. And no latency issues but we're talking milliseconds so no game changer there. They fit good in my ear but of course everyone is different. And that is where the pros end. The manual buttons are, well, OK. But they don't do much. Only volume and disconnect I think. There are none of the common conveniences of other earbuds. Like any software controls through the portal where most people use these. No app for the phone. Poor battery life. No touch controls. The charging case is huge by today's standards. No transparency mode/ ambient mode. So pretty useless for anything but gaming. At $200 it is way too much to be so limited. I give an extra star for excellent sound and they are high quality. But other buds in this price range also sound very good and do so much more. I was disappointed and returned these.

These are perfect for what i got them for and they exceed my expectations. Put these on when everyone else in the house is sleeping and you still get all the sounds from all angles. Light weight. A litte off balances for the ears to hold but with the correct tip they stay in well. Maybe if youvwere sweating then they may fall or slip. The headphones sound great, i have no disconnection issues. Just 200 bucks for a very specific headphone.

Bro these earbuds are clutch frfr, the sound quality is great on both the game and just for phone calls/music on my iphone. I legit replaced my airpods with these. Anytime im at work sitting on the computer doing work, I have one in my ear. The battery lasts a long time and they fit snug in my ear. I havent tried to workout using them yet but I’m sure they work perfect for that too.

Had these for about two weeks now and am using them more than i expected. It was a bit odd to get them in my ears the first couple of times but now that I’ve figured that out theyre pretty comfy. The sound is also great, maybe not $200 great but really good. The thing I’ve found myself using the most that has suprised me is also connecting these to my phone while gaming. Being able to easily listen to a podcast or music while playing games has been great.

They sound amazing, i can hear the steps very clear on CoD, volume is nice, they look very cool and minimalistic. But the battery only last 5 hours and range is not very long, they disconnect from the ps5 if i go to the bathroom

These work perfect for what i need them for. I game when my kids are asleep so I usually use only one ear. With headphones this is super uncomfortable. These earbuds allow me to game with one earbud while one charges. Mic works with both. When using both, the sound is good. Sound may not be as good as one would hope for given the $200 price, it is still very clear and immersive. Quality of build seems great, they are a little bulky but comfortable. Plug and play setup was nice.

Being a Sony product, I naturally anticipated reliability and comfort, both of which I found in abundance with the Pulse Explore earbuds. These earbuds are user-friendly and offer a dependable connection, though it's worth noting that the range seems to diminish beyond 20 feet, causing occasional sound cutoffs. Nevertheless, they are exceptionally comfortable, and I specifically acquired them for use with my PS5 and PS Portal. The PlayStation Link dongle facilitates quick connections, and the dual connection feature allows simultaneous pairing with an additional device, which is highly convenient. I've seamlessly paired them with both my PS5 and Portal without encountering any issues. The earbuds are remarkably comfortable, and their controls are intuitive and easy to navigate. While I typically experience around 5 hours of battery life, the charging case provides an additional 12 hours of usage. There were occasions when I opted to use a single bud to remain aware of my surroundings. The design of these earbuds is futuristic and blends seamlessly with my PS5 and Portal. To me, It was a must-have!

If you have a PS5 these are great earbuds! Nice to have when you don’t want to wear a clunky headset. Sound great and can connect to two sources at once so I can listen to podcast from my phone while grinding out games. Only downsides are mic quality and sometimes they randomly disconnect from the dongle but are easy to reconnect by just placing back in the case and putting them back in your ear.

Sony PULSE Explore — Immersive Gaming in Earbud Fo

The Sony PULSE Explore is a compelling option if your priority is immersive, low-latency gaming audio on the PS5, in a compact in-ear form. Their sound quality and dual connectivity are standout features. But if you often play for very long stretches, travel, or need strong mic performance or noise cancelling, there are trade-offs to consider.

Best audio Ive experienced while gaming.... and ive been gaming since the NES days.
Listen, the haters here are just plain ignorant.
they are like snowboarder scrubs with their bindings set to the wrong angle riding a board that is 20 cm too large for their height.
Or some noob scooter riders leaving their kickstands down and going around the city center the wrong way on a one way street.
they just are not doing right.
these things could blow your eardrums out when connected to a ipad pro.
they mix sound between the ps portal and a bluetooth device divinely.
all the complaints are RUBBISH!
not loud enough? BS
hard to mute? there is a button on the portal and ps5 controllers; or if on a cellphone, just close the screen bro.
Hard to pair? UR SOFA KING WE TODD DID
no bass? you're uncultured! sure some skullcandy skullcrushers kick bass harder, but these do bass right.
"they sound tinny"? You sound like a ninnybaggins.
the people hating have to be on some anti sony task force or just out their minds.
btw the playstation portal is also butter smooth gameplay and only microstutters for fools who cant set up a home network for beans.
and no, I dont work for sony. But yeah, they should pay me for setting the record straight.

Sinxe the PS Link firmware update last week I now experience no connection issues while using these with my PS5. Sound quality is good enough though i expected better for a 200 price tag. Where these really shine is with the portal where ps link is built in native to the system. Literally can connect these guys in a second or less. I myself do not experience discomfort during long sessions.

I couldn’t get over how uncomfortable these earbuds were. I’m use to AirPod pro’s and these just bugged me nonstop… that was until I replaced the eartips with the Spinfit Omni’s. I tried a bunch of other eartips but the Omni’s are the clear winner. If you are having trouble with comfort check them out.
Aside from comfort I really like these earbuds. I use them with my Portal and they sound really good.
I don’t have issues with the connection to the portal, but if you use them with PS5 get a USB to usb-c dongle and plug the adapter into that. For whatever reason it fixes the connection dropping issue on PS5,
Hope those tips help!

Although these earbuds last a decent amount of time, they often disconnect at random times, and the silicone ear parts themselves, always flip in word when taking them out. I don’t believe that they are worth the price.

The sound quality could have been better for the price but I love that I can listen to my iPad and ps portal at the same time.
One thing I did notice was changing the earbud tips for a bigger set I had laying around gave it a better sound imo. The ones that game included seem rather small and this also helped keep the ear pieces in place.

Easy to set up. Comes with three extra sets of earbuds that help you figure out the best match for your ears. The spacial audio surprisingly works just as well as my Pulse 3D Headphones. The only reason I didn’t rate it 5 stars is because the connection will randomly drop out and will reconnect shortly after which is very inconvenient especially when when playing an FPS game.
