One Of The Better E-Ink Readers

I love this product because it handles PDF's and reflows them so that you can adjust the size of the font. It's got a e-ink Pearl touchscreen so that it reads exactly like a regular paper book but it's a lot thinner and lighter than your standard hardcover so your arm doesn't get fatigued when reading. It has audio features (it can play mp3's and AAC format) but no external speakers so you'll need headphones which aren't included and as far as I can tell it doesn't save the spot where you last played back an audio track. It has expandable memory if you want to hold more than 2,000 books (does anyone really have time for all that reading), two english dictionaries and several translator dictionaries and the ability to take handwritten notes as well as typed notes in the books. The big thing that everyone will mention is the lack of wi-fi. Some people can live without it and some can't but for the price you pay for this reader it would have been nice to have the option especially since they're coming out with a mobile app so syncing between two devices would have been really nice but as it is, it's not possible with this model. The build quality is excellent and doesn't have any cheap plasticky parts which is probably why it's so expensive. One thing they could have done is provide a cover (they're sold separately and like the e-reader itself they are nicely made). If you're a reader and are looking to purchase a first e-reader (or a second or third!) you can't go wrong with purchasing this model. Just make sure to get one when they're on sale because the MSRP is almost prohibitively expensive

The thing I like about it the most is the touch screen. I've heard compaints about carple tunnel from some of the other readers on the market. Sony did it right with the simple finger swipe, since I am a serious bookworm. I love that I can hold not only thousands of books on the internal memory, but that I have the ability to expand it with the external slots... a lot of the other readers don't have that option. Yes the lack of wifi could be seen as a downside, but is it really that much of an issue to plug it into a computer? It syncs faster than an iPhone. The only downside I have is that night-reading is a bit of an issue without a light. I was hoping that it could be backlit for easy reading in the dark, but thats really the only downside I see to it. All in all, I love it. It's thinner than an iphone, and after hours upon hours of reading, the battery is still at full. I am of the habit of turning it off completely between reading sessions... so I will probably only have to charge it once a month.

Metal frame adds to the overall toughness. The ability to have memory cards is great. Resizes PDF files is a big +++. Loads pretty quick and have not found a file it would not read. I love my reader and give it a A+.
