Will not pair to devices, can't get it to work at all

The sound definitely isn't what they demonstrate in store, not very loud at all

I have been using the XB100 to listen to classical music and podcasts in my home office, walking around my house, and while out in my yard. (I prefer remaining alert while I’m on a run, so I haven’t used it then.) After charging the XB100 (for 4+ hours), it almost instantly paired with my iPhone. I have not bought a second speaker, so I can’t try pairing it with another one. I also have not tested out the length of battery life beyond using it several days in a row before recharging it. One difference from its predecessor is its surface, which has a texture that is visually unobtrusive but helps prevent it from slipping out of my hand. Mine is black, with the logo etched into it rather than printed white or some color. Although I don’t intend to test the XB100’s water resistance, I do appreciate that it’s rated as waterproof. I am not a serious audiophile, so I won’t try to discuss the XB100’s sound specifications and capabilities. I will just say that its sound quality is very good, despite the lack of any stereo separation. And, when it’s 10 feet away on a separate table, the bass notes still cause my work desk to vibrate. The one big drawback, which it shares with its predecessor, is charging it. It does not charge wirelessly, and it comes with a VERY short cable – less than 12” long. The cable is so short that I had a hard time finding an outlet in my house that was low enough to the floor or a countertop that I didn’t have to set the XB100 on something to keep from having it dangle in the air. There also was no power adapter, so I had to scrounge around in my stash of old adapters to hook it up. (Could I charge it from my desktop computer? No, the ports on my computer are otherwise occupied.) The only suitable outlet I found is in one of my bathrooms, very close to a sink – maybe I will end up testing its water resistance.

I've been on the hunt for a solid compact speaker, and I'm happy I finally landed on this one. The sound quality is amazing for its size, the battery life is ridiculous, and the call quality is surprisingly really good with its included echo canceling. It's easy on the eyes with its form factor and the included strap is a nice touch that compliments its design. I definitely want to get another one for the stereo function as well, hats off to Sony for improving upon what they had before alongside punching above its weight.

The Sony XB100 packs a lot of sound in a little package. The speaker is small enough to be carried around in a bag and not add a lot of weight. The speaker feels very sturdy and feels as if it will hold up under repeated use. The sound is very good, but not very loud. This would be expected from something this small. The strap attached makes it easy to carry by hand or to attach to a backpack. It is a wide strap that does not cut into you hand. The XB is in the extra bass line of speakers and this is readily notable. The bass sound is Rick and the mid tones are clear and sharp. Overall it is a great speaker for listening close to it. If you are more tha. 10 feet away it begins to be hard to hear. Overall, I like the speaker for personal listening and for carrying. However, the next bigger size would probably be better for large rooms or noisy environments. The price point for this device is very crowded. However, I believe this speaker is worth the little extra is costs than the off brand speakers.

Being a tiny speaker has its advantages with being portable and travel friendly. It also has its disadvantages lacking volume and a powerful bass. The good and bad thing about this speaker is that you have to buy more than one to sync via Bluetooth and create a surround sound effect. Let's look at it for what it's worth, the speaker has very simple controls and syncs to your phone with ease. It also plays a decent sound for it's size, not super impressive but it's gets the job done for a small room. Battery life is a crazy long 16hr, dust proof, water proof, built in strap to hook on bikes, strollers, gym bags, etc. Seems like the type of speaker you bring to the beach or picnic, buy only for your personal listening pleasure. If you want to liven up a party, you need a bigger speaker or get another one to sync together. They do NOT sync with other incompatible Bluetooth speakers, only the exact same one. I'm not sure who would buy this or why, not saying it's not good, I just don't see a scenario that would justify anyone buying it.

Good value with quality sound . These speakers have a visual and tactile appeal. Another plus is they are water and dust resistant making them excellent for outdoor use.

This bluetooth speaker is hard to compare with some of the other bluetooth speakers I have owned due to how fast it is to pare to my cellphone. I had my cellphone setting on my desk and the bluetooth was on already as I have things in my car that stay connected to it when I first turned the speaker on I was not expecting it to show up on my phone without going into the search feature but what happened was even with the screen on the lock screen it' popped up telling me that I could pare it to my phone within seconds of turning it on. My next thing was to try and pare it to my pc to see if it would play the sound from an online game that I play I turned the speak off then turned on the bluetooth on my pc turned the speaker back on and again within seconds it was found and ready to be pared this is the only con with the speaker itself even though it was connected to my pc and showed up in the list for output in the game settings it would not play but it would when connected to my phone. I brought on the app I have on my phone turned it on and then the speaker the sound from it is beyond compare to the only bluetooth speaker that I have for as small as this thing is it is very clear and thumps with the bass kicks in and you can actually connect it with other speakers that are bluetooth so you get stereo sound that was the pros of it and the cons yes I 100% would recommend it to friends and family

This little bluetooth speaker kinda surprised me. I've had dozens of various small and megaboom bluettoth speakers over the years and I figured this would have the same tinny and hollow sound like many others in this compact form factor. Not the case in my opinion. I'd equate it to a small home speaker from a certain fruit branded company. This Sony has very good rich sound and decent bass as well, even as the volume increases. I'm considering getting a second one for a stereo speaker setup. Battery life is also fantastic in my use. At my volume levels, I used it 9+ hours and it still probably had a bit of juice in it. Only recharged because I wanted to take it out and about the next day.

The sound quality was notably better rhan my JBL clip 3, however this speaker is disappointingly quiet and even when put into a small bathroom right next to the shower head while I shower the speaker is somehow still quiet. The water proof feature was very good and the speaker felt very good quality in general. I would still go with either a higher trim sony speaker or a JBL speaker instead.

This little speaker is exactly what I wanted for my travels. It is very durable and stays charged for a good amount of listening time. My only complaint is that it doesn't have much volume.

Extremely portable with great sound quality. Not a ton of bass, but that's expected with a small speaker. Battery life is amazing as I would use it every day and would only have to charge it once a week.

I’m a musician, hence I am very picky about music playing devices. After listening to the demo unit at Bestbuy I purchased the Sony XB100 wireless Bluetooth speaker June 5, 2023. I use it to play music mp3 files on my Android 12 phone: jazz, pop, & classical music. I wanted a small, easy to carry speaker, that sounded good. Starting with typical pop tunes they sound super on this Sony XB100. The sound of jazz string bass playing was also deep and rich with NO distortion. This particularly impressed me. Classical music, with a lot of highs and midrange, also were clean sounding. To me I classify speakers into two categories. (1) Ones that project sound outward, and (2) ones where the sound seems to be inside the speaker wanting to come out, but can’t. This Sony XB100 is a winning (1) that projects beautifully into a room. Needless to say (1) wins for me personally. This Sony XB100 speaker comes with a superb setup booklet. After charging the first time I turned it on and it immediately went into bluetooth paring mode. I looked at my Android 12 phone and it popped up a finger tap window asking if I wanted to pair it. One touch, done, paired, and ready to play music. The touch controls on this XB100 speaker are also excellent. I played music nonstop for 2 hours. I plugged it to recharge it. That took only 5 minutes. The USB charge cable that came with it is a USB C cable that plugs into the XB100 either way. Simple. I want to say that I first purchased another maker’s small Bluetooth speaker whose name begins with a “B.” It did not come with a specific instruction booklet. Instead “B’s” little booklet featured nothing that was helpful in many world languages. You had to install a phone app from “B” to make the speaker work. Really? Yes! I took it back for a refund. In closing, I highly recommend the Sony XB100 speaker.

Very compact with a big sound. Like that it also has an Aux opening. Comes in great colors.

Car radio went out and needed something in the car without spending a fortune

Great sound out of this little speaker. Going to be perfect for the golf cart this spring summer and fall!

I bought this for my old car that has an antiquated sound system, so I could listen to audiobooks from my phone. It’s easy to use, fits into the cup holder, and sounds good.

I really enjoyed the speaker. I bought it a few weeks ago and took it on vacation with me. We used it while playing golf and took it on the beach. Nice sound quality.
