Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the impressive battery life, vibrant screen, and convenient notifications as key strengths of the product. They appreciate the water resistance and increased customizability after the latest update. However, some users express concerns about the limited NFC functionality, which reportedly only works with Sony phones, and the weight of the device, finding it too heavy for their liking.

I bought this watch after much research and user feedback and for the price it does as advertised.... It can get a lil annoying due to the band keeps pulling on the hair on my wrist, but I can overlook it. I like the stainless steel look to it, the only drawback I have is that it doesn't have a way to make voice notes. If you want something simple without breaking the bank, this watch is what you need

Best Smart Watch on the market!

After shopping and comparing Samsung's and Pebble's smartwatch, I bought Sony's smart watch 2. The Samsung watch only paired with Samsung devices and although attractive screen, the watch band was uncomfortable. Samsung's watch was too gimmicky and having a camera was overkill. The Pebble Smart Watch was too clunky and the software, although plentiful and independently developed was primitive. The Sony Smart Watch 2 has been a great choice. It has a simple, easy to use interface and setting it up to sync with my Android mobile phone was easy and intuitive. I blue tooth paired it with an HTC One and also used the NFC quick connection as described in the directions. The software selections in the Android Market is growing and the current selections bring a lot of utility to the smart watch. The ability to see and respond to phone calls and texts without taking out the phone is great for discretion in the workplace. The software allows editable responses as well as text as you go. Some software is free, others are a few dollars... What I have found useful : Calendar, Smart Camera, Calculator, Wristin (handles notifications), Power Amp (music controller), Smart Notes, Weather, Endomondo (run tracker). Battery life is 3-4 days and charges with an included micro USB cable in about 1/2 hour. The standard stainless steel watch band is rugged yet comfortable and is easily changeable with a standard watch band. I recommend using the standard watch face choices and not the third party software available on the Android Market. The reviews of the third party watch faces state that they drain the battery too fast. The watch Is water resistant, not waterproof. I wish the watch had either Gorilla Glass or Sapphire glass but I am using a scree protector found on Amazon. The watch is a great value at it's current price.

I am able to receive alerts for calls and messages without my phone ringing during meetings, while shopping or eating out.. If a call is important, I can get up and take it elsewhere. If emails demand attention, then I can reply on my cell. Most convenient; however, I am a small person so I had the band replaced with a tan leather one. It looks trendy, the time is digital- for me- and light with the new band..

This watch is really good for seeing your notifications without having to access your phone. I see all my incoming texts, Twitter and Facebook feeds. It also has a few apps of it's own. As far as the battery I couldn't be happier, It will fully charge from dead in less than 15 minutes and usually lasts for 3 days before needing charged again.

Sony Smart Watch 2 is an excellent device, works flawless, connects ultra easy, plenty of smart apps apps, water resistant is always welcome, better display than the competition Only disappointment is no mic to do voice control or reply to texts when device is out of reach, on board camera is not necessary

There are quite a few good features about this little gadget. I love that it vibrates when I get a phone call. I can read my emails and stay ahead of the curve. I can read my texts and see who calls, but I cannot respond anything but a simple smiley face or pre-made messages. I would maybe wait it out until the Google Now watches come out, but this is fun for now.

I purchased this smartwatch as a replacement for my Fitbit Force - due to recall. I had hoped to utilize this for both smart functions as well as fitness tracking. I was a bit disappointed to discover the limited fitness capabilities, but am still quite happy with the watch. It works with my Samsung Note 3 beautifully and is highly customizable thanks to all of the applications available for it.

If i turn off vibrate and take off certain notifications (or not add/use many apps for notifications) I can get 3 - 4 days of battery life. Otherwise, I've been lasting 2 - 3 with the vibrate feature on and several apps. I really don't like the SmartWatch older apps. It's great it is compatible with the SmartWatch 2. Just not my preference. Bluetooth works great with my old Nexus 4. And the combination of my car radio and watch, it works great as a remote to play my tunes through the car speakers While I'm standing/sitting outside my car. So, THAT's pretty cool. Even though there is no mic and no camera (which would be very cool), it works for my needs.

I love the design of this product. I can be in the shower and see whose texting, calling, or emailing me. Other smart watches aren't water resistant. That's a big negative for me considering how much it rains in my location. The metal band also makes it feel like a premium watch and its extremely light weight. The battery last about 4 days for me with constant use to control my phones music. I would recommend it.

    Competitive SmartWatch

I love doing research when it comes to buying something I love doing research when it comes to buying something and with the internet and makes it so much easier. So when it was time to buy smart watch I did a lot of research and the first one to come up was SmartWatch pebble. This is a review for the sony smart  watch 2 just comparing it to the pebble and the galaxy gear.  Pebble is well known as one of the better smart watches to buy, in some ways it is better than Sony smart watch 2 (SSW2) it has superior battery life a lot more rugged design and a better price tag at $150. However they were main reasons that I could not get that watch one for being high tech watch that talks to my phone its a black and white screen also it does not have a touch screen. On the other hand it does have one of the longest run times on a single charge of any of the smart watches so you're basically getting high tech/low tech. The Galaxy gear however has a big screen is touched but its not waterproof which is weird for watch secondly you have to charge it everyday, the galaxy is unmistakable it's a giant watch with a big  screen and a camera on the wrist band. SSW 2 watch if you look at it you would not know you're looking at a Smart Watch you can't say that about the Galaxy Gear it's clearly something else. I've had my watch for at least a month and I love it it should be known that the program is glitchy and you have to pay for a lot of apps especially good ones but if you refuse to pay for them to watch can still be functional. Some of the higher end apps  like that web browser you do have to pay for, not that I would recommend using web browser on such a small screen if you have a phone in your pocket. It should be noted the programming for the watch is glitchy at the core so everything else is going to be a little glitchy to but this is the issue you'll get with almost all the smart watches. It should also be noted that one of better features of the Gear is that you can talk on it as a phone however that only is cool on TV when you do it in real life you're in speaker mode which means you're not having a conversation with your watch you have a conversation with everyone. I love my Sony SmartWatch 2 I feel is competitively priced considering its features and it feels like a watch that talks to my phone unlike the galaxy gear that feels like a crossbreed of a watch and the phone with a price tag of a cell phone to match the internet makes it so much easier. Love this watch except the band is very uncomfortable. I did not see that the watch was available with a rubber band before I purchased it. I love that the watch will sync with any android and does so by just placing them back to back. Lots of apps available and very easy to install. Wish the watch had a speaker so that calls could be made from just watch. No camera on watch.

I've had my Sony Smartwatch 2 for about a month now. I wear is everyday and enjoy it for the most part. The battery lasts for an average of 3 -4 day's and charges fairly fast. The micro USB charger is the same as my phone and tablet so charging is fairly easy and convenient. Overall build quality is good and it holds up to my daily beating. So far no scratches or dings to speak of.

Useful smartwatch, with a few limitations

The Sony SmartWatch 2 handles text messages, twitter, Facebook, and with some work email notifications. It is well built (metal bracelet and body). It functions well. But there are a few compatibility quirks (the stock email extension only works with Sony phones, some issues working with Android 4.3). Compared with Pebble there is a limited dev community, and compared to Samsung Gear there is very limited customization possible (very few watch faces for example). But it does split the ground between the plastic and non-touchscreen Pebble and the large and expensive Gear. So I am happy with my purchase and can recommend the SW2 with the caveats mentioned. If I was a teacher, I'd give it a B or B+. A big improvement from Sony's first smartwatch... and hopefully Sony continues to enhance it.

I like the looks of this watch, and the functionality is almost there, I wish this watch had android wear instead of it proprietary os. Visibility in the sun is kind of an issue, sometimes you need to cup your hand over the watch. Works as it should though, and the battery life is good.

I know the weather and all the birthdays of all my friends in facebook! It has a big clock face so I can see it at night when I wake and need to know what time it is. It is awesome!

Excellent smart watch that connects to older Android OS phones. The watch face can be customized with alerts, weather, watch face, phone control, etc. Once the watch face is tapped the face looks like a mini Android phone with customizable wallpaper including your own pictures. App support is strong on Google Play. Unfortunately Sony discontinued the smart watch2 to support Google's Android Play, which is less customizable and only works with KitKat or above. Big improvement from the Sony SW1. I bought two.
