First, let me say that I am picky about sound, I hate 'tinny' sounding little boxes. This is NOT a little box sound. You'll be amazed at the full range of sound. I bought this to use around the community pool and my deck at home....fed by bluetooth from either my phone or MP3 player. I use it a lot at our community pool....which is 75' long....and this speaker can put out pretty good sound volume over the whole pool. Many people have commented on what great bass it has. The bluetooth works great too...I've walked more than 90' from the speaker with my phone, and it's still connected. The lights are a fun feature at night, They mention downloading some apps...but I have NOT done that, and the speaker functions just fine without them. I never used it more than 4 hrs at a time at pretty good volume across this large pool, and the speaker reports (yes it speaks) more then 75% battery capacity left! As I said....I love it. Watch for sales on this....I bought it for $150, it lists for $250...often at $200......in my opinion, it out performs that other '3 letter' product that they sell at $300. Absolutely no regrets. I think I'll buy one for my son in law too for Christmas.

We use this speaker in our hot rod car that doesnt have a radio. It works perfect using blue tooth or plugging in to Aux. The sound is perfect and can be heard over the rumble of the cars motor. Love the option to turn the party lights off. Battery last a very long time. Too bad it cant charge my phone while I'm connected...love it!!

Best purchase ever! The Bluetooth speaks produce a quality sound, lasts 8+ hours, and has a light up option to help liven the party. It’s easy to connect your smartphones to the device! I would recommend the item to anyone in the market for a new Bluetooth speakers!

I got the speaker for $90, it was a no brainer. Sounds wise, it leans towards the bass heavier side but it compensates with the overall quality. The bass heaviness is not to the point that the rest of the music is coverd or overlap by it. The over all sound quality is good and the volume great for its size. The lights are on point.

I love this speaker all in general. The quality of the speaker, the sound and the live sound option, the speaker lighting and the fiestable and the music center apps, the price which i got it on sale and the battery life along with the easy way to pair it. I really love it and would recommend it.

This thing is loud and has great bass. However the bass can be overpowering at times. There is a way to disable it, however, the speaker then sounds pretty puny in comparison. The waterproof features make this an excellent canoe buddy. The charge on this thing last days!

The speaker is the best thing I’ve ever purchased the base is really amazing and last for a long time after you charge it and it sounds amazing and it’s very loud it’s like A house party speaker

I love these speakers. The blue color is actually beautiful in person. I use the speakers in the garage while working out and they work great. I have no issues. Easy to connect to Bluetooth, love the lights, and it is loud. 10/10

The light show and live mode is great on this speaker. The charge lasts a very long time. The bass is excellent as well. It's waterproof as well. I would recommend it to anyone. Only downside is that the loudness decreases when at low battery.

My 10 year old Bose Sound dock speaker finally went kaput. I went to Best Buy to replace it with the new generation of the same speaker because the sound quality was so good. However, I ended up trying out several others including this one. For what I paid, I could not have found anything else that met the specs as well as the sound quality. First and foremost, this speaker sounds great and every bit as good or maybe even better than the Bose which was a lot more expensive. Add in the water resistance, the cool lights (which I have tried once around the campfire), the ability to connect it to other units for a large area or for stereo separation and mostly the long battery life (at 12 hours, it is way more than the others I auditioned) and I think it is an awesome value.

Bought Sony XB41 Bluetooth to use outside using smatphone to play music. This unit exceeded my expectations for sound, ease of use and quality. Once you charge the speaker it also has a long battery life. The only improvement I can think of is it has very limited sound adjustment. The speaker has only two settings for sound. A very bassy standard setting and a "live" setting that has much more treble sound and less bass quality. It would be nice if there was traditional bass, midrange and treble adjustments. But that would diminish the simplicity of the unit. Overall it is a great way to take music on a camping trip or in your back yard. The unit appears very sturdy and you can turn off the silly colored light feature.

This Sony speaker has it all ! Great sound, deep bass if desired and a light show if desired ! Links up to Bluetooth easily and performs awesome ! Water resistant capabilities are a plus. Outstanding value.

This speaker is awesome, battery life is good, great sound, it gets loud, nice lights effect, it has a power bank and i only paid 150 , awesome price,!totally worth it

I "upgraded" to this speaker from a JBL Charge 2. That said, this speaker definitely has a muddier sound than the JBL's, but I've gotten used to it. Over the long run, I've always had good luck with Sony products and expect my experience to be the same with this speaker. Once adjusted to my ears, I really like the volume and general sound quality of this speaker. The lights are a nice feature and add a little pizazz to the unit. The party booster is useless, and I don't ever plan on using it. I used it almost daily for the first two weeks without needing a recharge. So battery life, even with the lights on, is pretty impressive. It is nice to have the audio announcement of the approximate percent remaining too, even though opening the back cover to get it is an annoyance. If I had the funds to get a second one to try out the linked mode, I definitely would. Add a few of these together and you will have an impressive room filling sound.

It's perfect for its size, loud, has great bass for such a small speaker. Lights up and it truly does not kill the battery as much as you think it would. I love it.

I have used the big JBL speaker, I’ve use the big Altec Lansing speaker, I have used the UE mega boom, and none of them are as good as this Sony, This Sony delivers more than excellent base, crystal clear sound, And it is a great speaker for house parties, lake days, camping trips and whatever you could find yourself needing to use a speaker for, the lights are extremely accurate and go with the music perfectly and there’s even more features that I found this speaker had the more I played with it, in my opinion this is the best portable speaker I have ever owned and I have had a lot

Speaker has nice sound and a lot of it, especially given the relatively small size. Also has really good battery life and the waterproof feature is also a nice, allows you to take it outside, in shower, whatever.

I'm somewhat of a stickler for quality sound. My home stereo is vintage, with very good speakers. I needed something portable, for the patio and pool, so was looking for something weatherproof, and loud enough to fill the area. Not necessarily a Sony fan of anything, I must say... impressive. I went in to buy the smaller version (32), but heard this one and had to have it. I haven't run the battery down yet, so not really sure how long it lasts, but it's a long time. Nothing bad to say about it, yet...

I recently bought blue tooth device, because it was on sale. I use to own the “ XB20 “ I think totally forgot, and sold it one year ago. I’m going talk of depends how we use it. Things that I assume, and remember that I assume, then I could be wrong too. I assume that we can play music, charging our smart phone, or whatever your have like tablet/iPad, and playing the music at the same time while the A/C adaptor is plug into the home electricity socket. The apps to download is free of what I’ve known for Apple, for other like Samsung, and more...I don’t know....The battery life is good too, and come to believe that of depends how we use it. When the light are on, estimate from 15 to 18 hrs. plus with the bluetooth running too, I think. Yes it is loud too, and it’s depend what type of area it is too. It’s good for yourself to carry it to your car, of not playing just music, for phone calls as well. About your own car, take this as an advice, and a warning. DO NOT USE BLUETOOTH OF STEAMING MUSIC, MAKING LONG PHONE CALLS, and OTHERS MORE. About what I’ve said, these day most of us has SMART PHONE, and IT CAN SHUT DOWN YOUR CAR AT ANYTIME, and include that IT CAN GIVE A FALSE SIGNALS, and I ALSO ALMOST LOST MY LIFE BECAUSE OF THAT. Any how, or any ways, It’s good to carry with you into your vehicle for music, and phone calls. For the battery life of use the long estimate of 20 to 24, shut off the lights, and use the aux connection, no bluetooth connection. No, this doesn’t come with aux cable, including USB connection cable. Just only the A/C adaptor, and it’s good. This could last me for long time like five years estimate, because I’m not that type of a party person. Bluetooth connections take a lot of energy, that’s the reason why it’s from 15hrs to below hrs. Do not over charge the battery, I assume. Good for conference meeting phone calls at the round table. Good for your grandparents, so they don’t have to use of placing the phone next to ear. Good for the BBQ, lobster feast, dancing by yourself with your friends while holding it right next you. :)
