We purchased this item while looking for an upgraded smart player or TV. This was definitely cheaper than a TV, and had the update Netflix App (which our old player would not update). Just what we were looking for, and pairs well with our Sony TV!

My nephew and I bought this for my 76 year old mother and she has really been enjoying it. Nephew signed her up for a free month of Netflix and she started binge watching right away. It took some research and additional cables, but my nephew got it to work with Mom's analog TV!

All functions work just as they should. The true benefit for me was in the wifi performance in comparison to our lg smart tv. The user face was payed out clean and intuitive. A refreshing detail after struggling thru three years of Samsungs menus and perpetually out of date DRM firmware.

Good quality and easy use for playing blu-rays. Wifi capabilities and apps seem slow and cumbersome. Loses network connection and error messages when using apps often.

Good economy option. It just simply works great for a bedroom situation or small TV. Quality seems fine as expected on a 1080P. Connected to the WIFI easy and the Netflix App is on it, a good backup if the Roku goes down.

Bought this as an upgrade to regular DVD players. Noticed an improvement in resolution. Granted, will use more for upscaling older DVDs as I refuse to buy too many discs of films I already own on TWO older formats. Nice to have a choice of the DVD/Blu-Ray combo packs, though.

Well worth the price, fit and the installation was excellent and we have enjoyed the use of it. It also has many applications that I was not aware of when I selected it but I'm very excited that they are there for our further exploration.

This player is good for the price. I have it connected to a television that is not 'smart' tv. So I'm able to use for DVDs and streaming Netflix. Only drawback is it does not have a light showing if the player is on. So you never know if it's on or off.

I needed a wireless network DVD player. The TV it is connected to is not a Smart TV therefore to get Netflix or Amazon I needed a device that has this built in. As far as playing DVD's, it does that's all it needs to do.

I have had another larger Sony Blu-Ray player and it finally stopped working after many years. Love the new one, and the price. It fits really well next to my cable box and Apple TV. Pretty compact and nice image. Glad I made the change.

when i brught this player with build in wi-fi i thought it would have amazon and nexflix apps , i was wrong it only had nexflix and lots of other apps, im was disappointed

Although I really want a 4K UHD player the prices are just too far out of my budget. This player does a great job though with my standard Blu-ray disks on my UHD monitor. It loads fairly fast and the operation is just as you would expect.

Works great. Excellent value for a Sony product! Description about this product does not mention that there is a button on the remote for Netflix, so I was thrilled to find out it had this feature; something they should definitely mention in the overall product description.

Unfortunately, streaming Amazon Prime is not possible on this item. After many minutes waiting for Amazon customer service to answer, I was told Amazon Prime streaming is not compatible with Sony equipment....... bummer.

Actually the Blu Ray player was secondary to the WiFi streaming capability. Put this in my teenagers room so she could stream NefFlix, hulu and all the other things kids watch today that are not television or dvds. Needed the wireless WiFi for her room and it works great.

Good bang for your buck. Easy install. Works great. Skips occasionally if device is moved (kids) But over all good DVD player. Planning on purchasing another.

I needed a Bluray player for a second bedroom. I had some reward zone certificates, so it brought the price down to around $30. The TV I have it connected to is an older Sony KDLS5100 which doesn't have internet or apps. The apps on the player are all that we need for this room.

This was a Christmas present for my brother who finally realized how easy streaming is when using my slightly older model streaming Blu-Ray player. Bonus - now he can view all those Blu-ray Discs I've given him over the years.

This player does a good job playing discs. It even does stream well. However it does freeze up a lot which is why I went with an NVIDIA shield. More reliable.

Have had this unit fir over two weeks and so far the tracking is great - no jittering, stuttering, or tiling. This was a late Christmas gift for our son, and he (as well as we) is very pleased with it!
