When we upgraded and got a smart t.v. for the living room, we moved our old flat screen into my daughter's room. We bought this so she could watch DVD's and use the streaming services we pay for. I don't thinks come out of her room for a month! Great buy!

Sony removed Amazon Prime from the latest version of this streaming device. It's still a very good player but having Amazon Prime on the prior version enabled streaming of it without a Fire Stick.

Good intro Blu ray player. Love that you can program the remote to your TV and not have to deal with using multiple. Easy to set up and love that you can add a hard drive and play media from it.

I liked this dvd player and its features it has wifi and the apps that it had built it. The dvd door stopped opening i called Sony and they replaced the unit as it was within the first year.

I was looking for a Blue Ray Player to use on my boat in the marina and the play performance has been excellent from the discs. I still have been having problems connecting to the wi-fi but I believe that is a problem with the signal capability in the marina.

This is a solid player. My only drawback would be that it doesn't offer all the apps that a sony TV or other player offers (Plex being the most important for me)...so I'll still have to use a Roku for that media.

I bought this to replace my other one that all of a sudden out of the blue started turning everything green and half the time wouldn’t play. I purchased a new tv so I got a new Blu-ray to go with it

I bought a DVD player at Best Buy thinking that all DVD players would play both regular DVD's and Blue Ray. But when I put a Blue Ray DVD in my old player, it would not play it so I had to buy a new player.

Brand name with good features at a good price. This blu-ray player is a solid choice for playing Blu-ray; DVD; and CD media as well as video files from USB drives. It also offers Smart features that allow connection to certain streaming services from within the player menu and controls, however there is gotcha. Prime Video is no longer available on this model, prior to 2020 it was. The Sony BDP-S6700 model has all the same features plus 4K upscaling and 3D capability, plus includes Prime Video streaming among others ( You Tube; Vudu; Tubi) for about $20 more.

Bought this after returning another brand that would only connect via wi-fi in the same room as router & even then would "lose" the connection. This one connected easily & stays connected two rooms away. No problems & does everything I need at reasonable price.

We enjoy watching TV on our 73" TV, so a Blue Ray streaming player was a must have. This Sony unit works great with built in Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime apps for your viewing pleasure! I bought 2 cause the price was so good....

This is a nice DVD player. Just keep in mind, if you have a smart TV it is redundant because you don't need a smart TV and a smart DVD player. It's best to get one or the other to avoid the extra cost. I didn't have a smart TV . . . now I have a smart set!

Wifi connection is a breeze, shuts off on its own when tv is powered off first. App features are convinient. Screen mirror feature is awesome. Have owned another for 3 years with no problems. Highly recommend this model.

We have an in-home system that had been professionally set up. I thought it'd be hard to replace as it's in another room but it was quite easy & we improved our Amazon Prime experience as well. We are technologically-challenged folks & even we did it!

This is the second I bought of the same make and model. Liked the first enough that I gave the second as a gift to my in-laws. So, not wanting any problems with them figured this was a nice gift. They were able to easily use it and have thanked me for it.

I don't have a smart TV downstairs so I wanted a blu ray player that could also connect to Netflix, VUDU and use PS Vue to watch Tv downstairs! This will be awesome for the summer when my basement is cooler. Probably save me money on the A/C bill as well.

This blu-ray/streaming player is great. Does a great job at streaming Netflix and YouTube and of course playing dvds and blu-rays. I’m sure it would do great with the other apps too if we used them. Highly recommend this player.

The player starts up quickly and has a good interface. One problem is, once in awhile the unit will not turn off. You have to unplug it. It was on sale so even with this glitch, the player was worth the money. Paying full price, I would rethink buying it.

This was a replacement for a 9 year old Sony I had purchased previously. Thankfully it works the same way and I was able to set up the WiFi. It has all the capabilities I could want. I hope it lasts like the one I had before.

This Blu-/ray/ DVD player does everything it is supposed to do right out of the box. Everything just works, and setup could not have been easier. The HDMI connections were simple to set up.
