We definitely designed the "ULT" button for those moments when you want that deep, heart-pumping bass, but we totally understand that sometimes it can be a bit too much depending on the song or the room you're in!

The great thing about that speaker is that you can actually find a middle ground. If you turn off the ULT mode, you get a much more balanced, clear sound that's perfect for casual listening.

Hi Trippy, Thank you for taking the time to review your ULT FIELD 1 speaker. We're happy that you appreciate the bass sound and overall features of the speaker. By downloading the Sony Music Center app, you will find all sorts of tools to fine-tune the speaker using the built-in EQ to ensure optimal listening experience. You can change the sound quality via a 7-band equalizer and the ULT button provides signature ULT sound quality to the listener, enhancing the music with one different sound modes. You may also find different devices will perform better than others, as will different apps due to different types of audio compression and transmission. To experience a rich sense of presence. you can also connect two ULT FIELD 1 speakers via Bluetooth to activate stereo sound (left and right).
