The sound quality is fantastic! But my favorite with it is the anount of bass that you get from such a compact device, very easy to carry with you, easy to take on a jog, to the beach, a small party, and the sound will fill a room perfectly! Easy to connect, battery life is solid, I enjoyed the purchase!

I picked up the Sony ULT Field 3 Wireless Speaker in black and it’s been a solid choice for outdoor use. The build feels tough and the IP67 rating gives peace of mind when using it at the beach or pool. Battery life is excellent — I easily get a full day of playback, and the quick charge feature is handy. Sound quality is clear for vocals and mids, but the bass feels flat until you hit the ULT button. Once activated, the low end really comes alive, though at higher volumes you can notice some compression. I also wish it had stereo playback instead of mono, but for casual listening and portability it does the job well. Overall, this is a reliable speaker for anyone who wants durability, long battery life, and customizable sound. If you’re a bass lover, the ULT mode makes it shine.

Initial Impressions: I pulled this out of the box with with high expectations being a Sony product and was not disappointed. The overall construction feels really solid - I.e. it will take a beating in my daypack or on a bike out to a camping site. I charged it up - That took about three hours so given the rated charging time ( 5hours ) I would guess it arrived at about 60 percent. The bungee style cord and fabric like covering both feel durable and are not likely to hold water. The rubberized surfaces are great and provide a nice grip. Connectivity: I connected this to iPhone, A New flagship model Android Tablet, an old android tablet and Windows PC. Pairing was simple and the device connected without issue to everything I tried it on. All newer devices were able to reconnect without issue. I always test this as I have had a few devices in the past that were just difficult, required re-pairing or had to otherwise be "rebooted". I had no such issues with this speaker. It worked as expected. Audio: Lows are especially good for a speaker of this size with the ULT feature enabled. Overall volume and clarity is excellent for a monoaural speaker that's the size of an energy drink. Clarity of voice for audiobooks and speech is very high with or without ULT enabled. This is an area that many small speakers fall short in - this one does not. Battery Life: I ran this in my garage with ULT turned off for most of the day, over a standard weekend. I left it on intentionally just to see how long it would last. It exceeded the rated 12 hours with ULT enabled by 5 hours and still had power left. This is about double the battery life of my prior Bluetooth portable speaker ! It's rated at 12 hours 50 percent volume with ULT disabled. The sound level at 40-60 percent with ULT should yield around 8-9 hours of playback which is more than enough for me. Buttons: The control buttons are recessed behind a rubberized panel and include exactly what is needed: Power/Pairing Mode/Play-Pause-Call End/Vol -/Vol +/Ult Boost What I love - Great for a conference / group call ! Rust, Dust and water resistance, overall tough design ! Room for improvement - The included travel charging cord is incredibly short. I would prefer one 2-3 times the length.

Really fantastic battery life! I love the sound waves. It even sounds great on the ocean. The vibrant orange color makes the speaker easy to keep track of. The best feature really is the rope attached, which acts as a handle. I use a carabiner to hang the speaker up while charging and while listening, which works great on the go. Sony nailed this one! Price was right!

The new Sony ULT Field 1 Bluetooth speaker is Sony Corporation's new entry into the crowded arena of small portable Bluetooth speakers. Is it worthy of your consideration? Sound: This speaker packs quite a punch for it's size. The ULT sound button increases the bass response of the Field 1 quite a bit, but not at the cost of decreased treble. I think it has a very pleasing sound quality, especially at lower to mid volume levels. The bass response is slightly reduced at higher volumes, which is pretty typical of all small speakers. Build Quality: The design and construction seems to be well done and this speaker should be able to stand up to the stress of daily use quite well. The two side mounted passive radiators are protected by solid feeling endcaps, which I believe are rubber coated. I like that the included sturdy strap is removable if desired. I don't plan to get this speaker wet, but it's nice to know that it is protected from accidental spills and drops. Sony app: This speaker doesn't require an app for connecting to a phone or tablet, but the Sony Music Center app is helpful for firmware updates and for it's equalizer function. By the way, connecting was simple, with no issues for me. The Bluetooth seems fine. I have not experienced any sound dropouts or lost connection issues around my apartment. Call quality: No dropouts, but slightly muffled. I would call it fine overall. No problems in conversation. Things I don't like: Mono speakers are not my preference, but I still like this speaker since it can be positioned upright and horizontally with no difference in the sound. I do plan to purchase another of the ULT Field 1 to make a stereo pair in the near future. Conclusion: Would I recommend this speaker? The answer is a definite yes. If you are looking for a portable Bluetooth speaker that pack a bass punch above it's weight class, then I believe you won't be disappointed with the Sony ULT Field 1.

This is my favorite Bluetooth speaker I've ever purchased by far. It is SO versatile. I use it all day, everyday. The bass is uncommonly great for a speaker this small. Small enough to take on day hikes. Totally durable and waterproof. I kayak with it. I strap it to bikes and even a Vespa scooter. I can use it as a speaker for my computer. My favorite use is at night. I use it as the Bluetooth speaker for my bedroom TV. I hate using earbuds or headphones. I can put this on my nightstand right next to my ear, listen to an action movie with explosions and not disturb anybody in the house. If I am watching the news or a podcast on YouTube, I can take it with me to any room in my 1200 sq ft apartment to continue listening while cooking or cleaning & the range is fine. It's a great choice for apartments and dorms. It's loud enough and has enough bass to jam out in a small space, but you aren't gonna get a call from the landlord. With the waterproof feature, you can take it into the shower with you, which is the only place I sound good singing along. I love it so much, I'm thinking about getting a 2nd one, since it can be paired with a 2nd speaker for more stereo sound. It has INCREDIBLE battery life. One full charge should last you all day. I've looked at Bose, JBL and some of the other options. This is definitely the most bang for your buck. Great quality. Great all-around sound. I've had it six months and haven't noticed any battery degradation. You really can't go wrong.

Nice portable sized (say in between a small and medium size) speaker with this feature of “ULT Power Sound”. I did pair and played some satellite radio and it sounded great.. and pushed this holographic ULT led button and it does seem to boost the bass while still the rest of the music is clear. Works great with the Music center app and could group another compatible Sony speaker that I do have to create almost a stereo environment with. The carrying strap is great and could loop around anywhere for added sound when it comes to small events or some outdoor activities (like riding a bike or hiking). The unit was fairly charged and worked right out of the box but does come with a usbc charging cable. Though I haven’t tested it out in the harshest conditions (I always baby most of my electronics), this is shockproof and weatherproof so I feel confident it will do the job when wading around the shores of an ocean beach or by having it by the poolside somewhere at a pool at a house party. And it can be positioned to whatever you may like either placed horizontal or vertical standing.

Picked this up recently and I’ve been really impressed with it. The battery lasts a long time and the sound quality is genuinely great. What surprised me most is how loud it gets. I pushed the volume pretty high and it stayed clear without any cracking or distortion. I brought it to a birthday party in a gymnasium and it filled the whole space without any issues. There were a lot of people and plenty of noise, but the music still carried really well. It also feels sturdy and well made. Overall, just a solid speaker with strong sound, great battery life, and way more volume than I expected for the size.

I've been very impressed this speaker so far. The sound is nice and full and and you can definitely tell a difference with the Ult bass mode turned on. The battery life is nice, I haven't had an issue with it so far. The speaker is light and easy to carry. The feature that is added to this that is really nice is the phone feature. Being able to make and receive calls is a nice bonus and the the quality of the phone quality has been really good. I know you can use the Sony app with the speaker, which normally when I have an option to use the equalizer I will, but the sound has been so good I haven't even used the app. You do have the option to connect 2 of these together for even a nicer immersive experience, which I'm sure I will probably do in the future, but for now the one works great!

The Sony ULT Field 3 blew me away with how much sound it delivers for such a compact and portable speaker. Overall, this speaker checks every box: portability, durability, amazing sound quality, and long-lasting battery. If you want premium audio on the go, the ULT Field 3 is a fantastic choice.

Gets loud, good design, great battery life, and type c charging. Bass performance is good, overall I would say it sounds good/acceptable. You can kind of tell the distortion rate is high and sound separation is mid. I got it on sale for $150. For full price may be disappointed, but at $150 go for it.

The Sony ULT Field 1 is a clean looking pill speaker that comes in a few variations of colours. the outer edges are rubberized to help with durability in case its banged around. That combined with the IP67 rating means you can pretty much take this anywhere and not worry about drop damage, dust or water. It says its also salt water resistant but unfortunately I'm not near a salt water body. There's a really thick paracord like rope that can cinches in and out to help fasten it where you may need it or just to carry. its quite thick and appears to be durable with a thick knot holding it down Set up is very easy, scan the QR code, install the app and turn on the speaker. it's detected immediately and pairs with no issue. The app is quite lackluster. aside from seeing the phone connected to the device, there's really not much else. It has shortcuts to your local folders if you have stored music and your music app, but once you have music going, all it can really do is adjust the volume. you cannot control the media (pause, skip, previous etc), it does not even allow showing the audio information. you can select your playlists but you can also do that within the music app you're using so this app is really redundant and not necessary. The ULT Power button kicks in the ULT power. The Bass boost is really nice but doesn't overwhelm your sound to the point that it's annoying. You can tweak the equalizer within the app. The sound that plays when you enable/disable the ULT is annoying and interrupts the music, but if you do it through the app it doesn't do that. So i guess the app serves some purpose, though i would just leave the ULT on all the time and call it a day. while on phone calls, people on the other side said i sounded normal and they couldn't tell i was on the ULT Field 1 however their audio to me felt echoy and hollow. it'd work if you needed it, but you're probably better off keeping your phone on speaker. This has the potential to pair to a second speaker for stereo mode and based on the app it looks straightforward, but unfortunately i only had 1 speaker so i cannot test that feature Overall it's a decent pill shaped speaker similar size and shape to those in the same segment. The price isn't bad for what appears to be a very durable (so far) speaker that can play in stereo if you get another, just wish the app was more useful

after using jbl for years, we decided to switch up and give sony a try. Safe to say it exceeded our expectations, Music loud, water proof, durable and great battery life. we love it and would purchase again.

Just a nice portable unit. It is set up in my van, stock radio was yanked to provide room for HAM radios. Play tunes from my phone - sweet. Nice volume, good bass. Battery life - exceptional. Just what the doctor ordered.

I love my new Sony speaker. I was torn between this and the JBL. The Sony is the way to go. It is lightweight and the sound is amazing. I also like the shape and design better than the JBL. Not only is this good for parties, but I even use it in my house regularly to listen to my audiobooks

It works good it feels like good quality and the sound is nice bass and it has good battery life when fully charged and its easy to connect with ur phone and you can walk pretty far before it loses connection

I love the size of the unit. I just drop it in my bag and I have great sounds everywhere I go! Amazing sound and battery life for its size!!

Love the color! it also has deep base and smallish foot print. Big upgrade from my old Beats Pill. Charges fast and I have yet to run down the battery.

Great little Bluetooth speaker with big sound! Easy to pair and portable thanks to the strap, and it has solid bass for its size. Battery lasts a long time, and the waterproof/dustproof build makes it perfect for outdoor use or travel. Definitely impressed with how loud and clear it sounds for such a compact speaker.

Great sound and great battery life. I love how this thing sounds, and the bass is perfect. Its easy to turn on and connect to my phone. I also love how you can stand this up vertically. Im very pleased with this product. I usually get JBL speakers, but I thought that I would try Sony for once - since they are good too. I was very very happy with my choice.
