Haven't put to full use yet. I plan to reorganize my music library and make new playlists. The 16gb storage should be more than enough. As usual, the Sony sound is excellent. Great product.

The Walkman is real small, holds a charge, and the ear phones fit very comfortable.

Works great. Like the sound. Fm radio, perfect. Easy to download off of Windows. Not sure yet how to do iTunes. Minor detail. Instructions not the best, but it's so easy to download. Got this as a present, getting another. Huge memory.

My old Walkman MP3 player, NWZ-E345, died (battery COMPLETELY drained while hibernating in a drawer) and would not wake back up. Wanted to replace it with something small and easy to use that didn't cost $300. This fit the bill and is working out pretty alright. Only complaint? Doesn't organize audio books very well. Doesn't recognize the different discs - so you listen to Track 01 from all 12 discs, then Track 02 and so on... Don't know if this is a Sony problem, or an audio book problem, but it's become my problem and I don't like it. Music wise, it does great though. Enjoy your great day

Sobupon opening from package, my first thoughts were that it felt cheap d/t the plastic feel and i am use to holding medalnin my hands. With that said, I was able to load music very easy and the button layout is pretty self explanatory. So to me easy set up and file transfer made this worthy for an MP3 device.

This is a great player! the battery life is long and it works great with audiobooks. I would recommend this player to anyone looking for a basic MP3 player that has a long battery life. My old player got to the point that it only held a charge for about 3 hours. This one goes for over 30hrs. the sound is great, but I also am not that critical on the quality of the music, it doesn't sound any different that listening to a CD.

Purchased this as a gift for my father. It is actually the third one we purchased for him because he likes the ease of use of the player. Nothing is wrong with the previous ones he owns, he just wanted more MP3 players because he has so much music.

My only complaint about this MP3 player is....Bad reception on the radio. My old Samsung player was crystal clear, no static. I would recommend this product with a warning about the radio.

I'm still using this MP3 player. It has great storage capacity for my workout playlists. The compact size works for me as it fits in my pockets which works as I am a runner! This is a good product, great quality and I recommend this to everyone!

I bought two...this one and a cheaper version of an off brand. The cheaper version has speakers you can listen to without the headphones, and sadly this more expensive (three times more $) version does not. Other than that...they are great. Put over 300 songs on mine. No regrets.

    A Race To The Bottom…

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

It pains me to write this, but the NW-E395 is THE WORST Sony Walkman model I've ever purchased. I've sampled several brands and models of mp3 players over the past ten or more years, and up until yesterday the Sony Walkman was consistently the best I've ever owned. The previous three I've owned during that time (one NWZ-E345 and two NWZ-395's) were great…solid, dependable and capable of delivering fantastic audio reproduction. I've been praising them ever since. In the space of a couple of months, I lost my two NWZ-395's, so I decided to jump on this new Walkman model. To my great disappointment, it showed itself to be a clear example of someone(s) within Sony trying to "race to the bottom"….or to put it another way, they're charging their usual prices for a vastly cheaper and inferior product. Here are just a few of the degradations I discovered within the first two hours of use… 1. No More "Clear Bass": The NW-E395 still has it's 5-band EQ, but the Clear Bass EQ is missing. Instead, you have to select a separate "Bass Boost" which defeats the 5-Band EQ, turning the sound to mud. Also, once it's engaged, you cannot adjust any EQ settings. (Just to make sure I wasn't mistaken, I did a side-by-side test. I matched the volume and EQ levels of both my oldest and the new Walkman, then simultaneously played the same song while switching the headphone plug back-and-forth between the two. The new model's lack of sonic clarity and weak output was beyond unacceptable!) 2. Not-So-Random "Shuffle" Setting: Every time I selected a song while in "Shuffle" mode, the next two or three songs would be something random. However, at four or five songs, the same, exact pattern of songs would fall into line. Even after powering-down and switching to other modes, I'd get the same pattern once I engaged "Shuffle" mode. 3. Screen Resolution/Graphics: Whatever changes Sony's designers made to the graphic interface, it's definitely a step backwards. I can clearly see the rough pixels comprising the text, as opposed to the smoother fonts of the older model. (see the side-by-side comparison pics) Overall, this model screams "poorly designed" and "cheaply manufactured". For someone who's never owned a Walkman mp3 player, I can see why it would appear to be a good model. But for those who have experienced what Sony was capable of offering it's customers in the not-so-distant past, the NW-E395 is a very disappointing, low-brow piece of overpriced tech which I will be returning posthaste.

We bought this for our 14yo son as a birthday gift. We like the Sony sound, as well the ease of loading songs and the fm radio. The only drawback is we would have preferred a Bluetooth option for wireless listening.

I had purchased another brand a while back to replace my old Sony, but it was not nearly the quality and was much harder to use than the Sony, so I purchased this one. What a great improvement! Easy to understand and use and large enough to hold my music library.

There are many of us that prefer to organize our pictures and music manually by creating folders and via the "drag and drop" of files, rather than depending on an app such as iTunes or Windows Media. I put my files in folders and use the "play folder" option at the "very" bottom of the Walkman home screen menu. It plays all the songs in the folder, thus no lost playlists and no proprietary software required. The Sony Walkman is a master at simply appearing as another drive on the computer. If you so decide, just put your folders in the music folder of the Walkman. Just another option.

I really like this MP3 player. The best thing about it is that you can download any music to it unlike Apple products. The battery also lasts 8 to 12 hours longer than any of the Apple MP3 players I have had. The only problem with it is that it does not have a way to clip it to my clothes. I have to put it in a pocket put I don't always have something with a pocket on.

It's a nice MP3 player. It's very easy to use. I'm able to load my songs, it's quick to turn on and off. I've given this device as a gift to 3 different people because I enjoy it so much. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because when I make playlists on Windows Media Player, it is "not compatible" with this device. It's very strange because all my systems are new and up-to-date. I don't know what would be compatible with this device.
