These headphones looked embarrassingly large and like a 2007 bluetooth. I was not feeling the size or design very much. In fact, I had tried nearly a dozen headphones before sticking with these. There were 4 main reasons for my decision to stick with these Sonys. 1) the battery life and recharge speed is unlike anything I've tried. I recall having to wait nearly 45-60 minutes for my pervious headphones to charge at least 50%, but these headphones will be 100% charged in literally 10-15 minutes. 2) They have dual master control, which means you can use your left or right earbud independently from eachother. You can have your left/right bud charging while listening to the other bud. You would be surprised by how many quality earbuds don't have this feature. 3) the range is amazing, I work at the hospital and before my earbuds would cut out if I left my phone by my desk and walked down the hall to check on my patients. Now I can walk down the hall and walk into patient rooms without any disconnections. The signal does have its troubles and will get static when I go around a corner depending on the material of the structure. 4) the sound and noise cancelation is unlike any other earbud in its class. I was genuinely impressed. I love my buds! However, I did have some suggestions to make them better. Firstly, improve the phone application to allow more customizations. Secondly, the earbuds case is too big to comfortably fit in pocket. Thirdly, I would like to see the size of the earbuds reduced to something more like the Jaybirds. Lastly, I wish there were more options for controlling actions on the earbuds without having to pull out your phone and make those actions via your cellphone.
Overall, these earbuds beat the competition. The new Airpods are its biggest competitor, but fail to produce the same music quality. Clear choice!!!
-Daniel.

These headsets have really good audio and sound quality. Battery life is exceptional and I recommend downloading Sony’s official music/audio app for the best music mix/customization options. The only reason I can’t give this a 5 star review is because I could never quite get the fit right for my ears. They would fall out frequently unless I was always ready to re-adjust every now and then. They come with multiple sized ear pieces but I personally never found a size that fit like I needed.

(PRE-REVIEW COMMENT: I’m handicapped, and see my iPhone almost as an appendage; a part of me. Ever since replacing my seven-year-old, much trusted iPhone 5s, which had a dedicated audio port, I’ve been spending a small fortune in accessories, for the newer iPhone SE 2, I bought this last March 2020. It, incomprehensibly DOES NOT HAVE a DEDICATED AUDIO PORT. For my particular (accessibility-related) needs, that feature IS a MUST; particularly for safety reasons. I’d suspect anyone, whose multi-purposed needs are similar to mine—simply trying to cope with the sudden lack of something so simple, as a dedicated “audio port”—accessorizing a phone (my very tool for independent survival) with adapters, would prove not only dangerous, but confront those such as myself, to consistently-annoyingly-unreliable events, as well. Being that, long ago, I’d already ruled out other smartphone operating systems (i.e.: Android, et al), I’m stuck with iPhones, probably, for life).
REVIEW PROPER: A couple of weeks ago—once realizing “accessorizing my ‘Audio Port-less’” iPhone alone was an unfeasible option—I embarked on a week-long, sustained multi-stores/multi-brands search, meticulously comparing, evaluating specs..., etc, seeking to solve my problem, finally settling on the SONY WF-1000MX3 bluetooth, true wireless earbuds. They did prove to sound very good, including its changeable ambient noise-cancellation feature, which was also very good. I was able to make (and receive) phone calls, (once with the iPhone voice control; once manually, this latter didn’t work out). Otherwise, so far, so good.
I did note how incredibly “touchy” they were, in their “Touch-sensing” (Tap) controls, which are excessively-sensitive to ANY touch. I figured I’d adapt. Then—while wearing them for my “Cooking and Dancing” exercise routine—wearing them proved too risky, when twice they each, in turn, fell off my ears, at different times..., when too close to water. One of which fell, even after changing the silicone tips to a different size. Nonetheless, in many ways, I was almost sorry to return them, yet, for my particular needs—considering its price—I couldn’t justify keeping them, returning them one day after purchase.
Exchanging them for a BOSE “SoundSport behind the neck, Wireless,” proved a far worse choice. I’ll be returning those tomorrow. Meanwhile, in desperation to find earbuds, adequate for my multi-use needs—whilst perhaps, having to compromise on great sound—I bought a couple of cheap JLabs Wireless, at a different store. But that’s a review for that store’s website.
Overall, had the iffy negatives not been there, I’d have kept them. Would I recommend it to a friend? Perhaps, if great sound was their main concern. If this friend were to need simply a means to adapt their lives, and Technology to Real-Life everyday needs—especially if on a no-splurge-allowed budget—I’d suggest they keep looking.
As for myself, I AM still looking.

These are amazing headphones provided the included tips fit your ears. The smallest ones still didn't fit me. So for all of you that have small ear channels like me, find form tips. With the right ear tips, the seal is great and you can really notice the ANC. The Sony partner app is also really good with a full equalizer and bass boost. The app also shows battery level of each headphone and the case. Battery life has been great easily 6-7 hours on a single charge then more with the case. The touch interface lacks some polish, but the Google Assistant integration is the best part. Great buy!

There is so much I could say about these ear buds. First, they're light and comfortable, and the sound quality, especially once you download the app and configure the settings to your liking, is totally wonderful. The bass hits, and the mids and highs are present, and clear. There's ground sound fidelity in these ear buds.
For me, it took a little experimentation over a week or so with the different ear tips to find the ones that fit me snug enough to stay in my ear without putting too much pressure on the inside of my ear canal, but still fit in a way to seal out some sound.
The noise canceling is wonderful in these ear buds. It's not as good as their over-the-ear siblings, but you might need to test turning it on and off in the app to truly appreciate how much is really getting actively blocked out.
I use these in the office, and on 3+ mile walks. While this doesn't have the sweat rating everyone seems to be complaining about, I haven't had a single issue with them in this regard. I just get home, wipe them off, and pop them back in the case.
On case - yes, its bigger than most others, but its actually smaller than I thought it would be. The multiple charges are a great feature, and honestly, worth the trade off i n case size. I use my buds for hours on end every day, and in the month I've owned these, I find I only have the charge the case once a week. #holla
All in all you have a premium look/build, premium sound fidelity, long battery life, nice fit/feel. Touch controls on the buds for pause/continue, your phone assistant, and an app that lets you configure these to the n'th degree.
Such a great purchase. I don't regret giving up my galaxy buds for these at all.

I've fallen in love with these earbuds. The noise canceling is great, the battery life is great, voice calls work surprisingly well! The only issue I've had so far is they are a little heavy to wear, and you will notice them in your ear. You also can't lay your head on a pillow with one in, though I imagine that's not a typical use case.
They have a very pleasant sound profile, and it makes music extremely pleasant to listen to. If you are looking for true accuracy though, you won't find it here. The base is embellished, as it is for most consumer sound products.

The Sony True Wireless have fantastic noise cancellation, better than any other true wireless headphones I tried. They are very comfortable to wear and the sound quality is excellent. It comes with many replacement tips of various sizes and while I usually use foam tips, I found the default silicon tips to be a perfect fit. That said, they are not perfect. There is no AptX support. No way to have 2 devices connected at the same time. My Jabra connects to both the phone and tablet at the same time which is very convenient. Turning on the HD sound negatively affects the battery life quite dramatically. While you can skip tracks forward and back, pause and un-pause the music, answer a phone call and hang up, there is no way to mute the microphone from the headphones, nor a way to control volume like other headphones allow. This needs to be done from the phone. If you turn on the assistant (in my case Google) you lose the ability to control turning on ambient sound since they both use the same control. The charging case is quite large, about twice the size of the case for my Jabra elite 65t. It's nice that is uses a USB-C connector but it is not fast charging. It comes with a (very) short USB-A to USB-C cable to connect to a laptop or a wall charger but it doesn't come with an actual charger. For this price I'd expect it to include a charger.
Would I recommend them? Yes, as long as you are aware of the limitations and are fine with them. I know I'll keep them just for the noise cancelling.
One can hope that Sony will add more features via future firmware updates but I would not hold my breath.

Good:

Sound quality is very good balanced response
Comfortable for extended use
ANC good for walking around on streets or in office
Bad:
Fall out of my ear when running
ANC does not work unless you have good inner ear fit.

...it can use an extra feature or two.
The good: great sound, intuitive controls (kind of), They fit fairly comfortably in the ear. The foam ear pieces are more comfortable, while the silicone ones provide a tighter, if slightly sweatier, fit.
There really should be a way for the earbuds to notify one of incoming notifications from one paired device, i.e, phone, while having it connected to your computer. Not sure why Sony hasn't addressed this issue yet.
The waterproof rating for these are non-existent, so be careful if you're wearing them while exercising.

I own various top headphones (Master & Dynamic MW7, Bowers&WIlkins P7, Bowers&WIlkins PX7, Sony WH-1000XM2, Bose 700, Master & Dynamic MW65) and bought these to give me ANC on the go.
In summary
Pros:
+ good battery life
+ good ANC (not near the performance of over-the-ear cans but good)
Cons:
- I returned these as I they don't support advanced codecs for Android (AptX-HD or the like). They only do the cheapo SBC codec. For apple devices, they do AAC so your high-fidelity audio experience is covered there.
- the earphones are a bit too bulky and stick out quite a bit for me.

Great earbuds, sound quality is amazing, ANC is phenomenal, best there is, my reason for only 4 stars is battery life is trash, 4 hrs is nothing maybe 5 is what I got tops, they are not ment for the gym. I tried working out in these and I got so mad bc the fell out every time I was doing any kind of jumping or high intensity workout. I had to return to the store and go with the beats pro, much longer battery life and very secure to my ears, even though they dont offer ANC they do a much better job at staying in my ears no matter what I'm doing for my workout

Best earbuds and it's not even close. The noise cancelling is unrivaled. The battery life is amazing and they are pretty comfortable to wear from extended periods of time. They are pricey but you can catch them on a good deal. Downside, there's no wireless charge, bulky case and not sweat resistant however, I love them and 10/10 would recommend.

First let me tell you that this product sounds AMAZING. The noise cancelling tech works exactly as specified for a small earphone. The base is very sold and does a great job with the low sounds. I love the technology in this device.
The only issue I have with the product is they do not fit well into my ear. I have to change the earphone fittings to match the type of activity I am doing. For days its very hot I need the larger earpiece. If I am inside I need the smaller earpiece. For days its cold I need another type of earpiece.
I have also had some connection issues where the product will drop signal and have to reconnect. This occurs at least once per use. It’s not an entirely large issue but its a pain if your in the middle of listening to an audio book and miss a couple sentences because of this.
I waited to write this review until I had at last 6 months of using the product. If I had a choice I would probably return this product and switch out for the AirPod Pros. I do not think this is the review everyone would leave for this product, but because the product does not fit in my ear and they have the constant connection issue, I left the review based on that I would expect from a pair of premium priced earphones.

Excellent Buds w/ANC to Rival Over Ear Headphones

These earbuds exceeded my expectations in design, function, and extra features. I knew coming from Sony they would undoubtedly have great sound, but I was skeptical as to just how good the Active Noise Cancelling could be. I knew they had customizable touch control, but I didn’t know just how useful that would be and have been blown away by the Google Assistant integration.
First, lets talk sound. These Sony Earbuds are everything you’d expect in higher end earbuds and more. The Sound quality is excellent right out of the box. Whether listening to audiobooks or music or watching a movie, you get the high quality sound you would expect from Sony. But they didn’t stop there – Sony gives you an app that allows you to fine tune the sound to your own personal taste including a 5 Point Equalizer with several presets and several custom memory slots as well as a separate Clear Bass optimizer.
I was super excited about these earbuds because I’m not a huge fan of over ear headphones – I wore them on flights because I wanted the ANC, but the thought of accomplishing the same thing with just earbuds was a great proposition. And Sony did not disappoint. These little buds do an amazing job of cancelling out ambient noise. If the Bose over-the-ear cancel out about 95% of the sound, I would say these earbuds cancel out about 85% of the sound, which is an amazing accomplishment for something so tiny. And again, Sony doesn’t just give you and on/off switch for ANC – they built in a lot of functionality so that you can have full ANC or you can adjust it to allow more or less ambient noise to pass through depending on your situation. There is also a tap and hold function that will turn it off as long as your pressing on the left earbud so you can talk to someone (it also pauses whatever your listening to or watching) and then once you let go your media starts playing again and ANC turns back on – brilliant!
Having Google Assistant build into these buds is great! You can give any voice command you want Google to handle which of course is anything from making a call or sending a text to opening an app or skipping tracks.
Sony really though through everything with these earbuds. They didn’t just put out some of the best sounding earbuds with the most amazing active noise cancellation you could imagine in such a small package – they though through all the little things to give you every feature you could possibly want in wireless earbuds. Way to go Sony!

I bought these headphones as a last minute purchase before my flight over-seas. I was worried I wouldn't find anything good without breaking the bank.. I have to say that I am beyond pleased with these headphones. I use these headphones everyday, and the last time I put them on a charger was a week ago. The case battery holds well, and the sound quality is amazing. These headphones also have so many sound options that you can adjust with an app paired on your phone. I was able to play my movie with surround sound, and not hear the loud sound of the plane, even though I was sitting parallel to the wing of the plane(you can imagine how loud that could be). It also had an ambient option, so I could hear the flight attendant speak, while still enjoying my movie . You can change the level of ambient sound coming through, or noise canceling level to your preference with the app. Only downside is, they can fall out easy with extra movement...so don't plan on working out hard with these. I've already recommended these headphones to friends, and even bought my mom a pair of these. It's a bit more on the expensive side, but I don't have any regrets buying these headphones.

Sound 10/10 especially when used with equalizer on the app, very customizable with how you like your sound. Comfort is great but I find my self constantly adjusting them in my ear. I’ve tried the small and medium ear cushions and they both seem to slip out of my ears. If you are looking to exercise with them, I’d say there’s better options out there like the beats pros. I don’t regret buying them especially since I got them on sale but I feel like I need to have another pair for working out.

They may be a bit chunky in the ear however they fit me well and comfortable. The sounds produced is well above AirPods and more in line with my Bose Quiet Comfort over ear headphones. Lemme start with the Active Noise Cancelling part. Hands down, this is the best I've experienced so far. Music playback is superb with clear highs and lows, but I guess you gotta tune out the EQ on the app if you want a real kick in the bass. As for the call quality, I'm very impressed. I kept calling people while standing at a very busy intersection where a lot of cars and big vehicles pass. The receiver never heard anything absurd from my end. I never told them whether I was using a wireless earbud until the end of the conversation. All the chaotic noises got filtered out and they heard my voice clearly. This is after almost a month's usage on a regular usage.
Now, if there's too much interference, and your phone is in your pocket, you'll experience distortion. In the app, just switch the priority to stable connection from sound quality. Should resolve the problem. Battery life is very good.
The only downside is the big carrying case. Not that it is too big, but there's better size and dimension from existing competitors.
Overall, it's a great option if you don't mind the bit bulky carrying case.
