Sony - WF-C700N Truly Wireless Noise Canceling In-Ear Headphones - Black
Summary:
High quality sound in a budget friendly, light, convenient, and comfortable package.
Pros:
* Price-point. The price is spot on for the features of these earbuds. I think these offer great value.
* High-quality sound. Surprisingly crisp sound AND effective noise cancellation.
* Form factor is thoughtfully designed. No protruding plastics. No weird imbalanced weight.
* Right sized charging case. While not wirelessly charged, the case is the right size and charges the earbuds quickly. I haven't owned them long enough to see how many charging cycles it can sustain without itself being charged.
* Comfortable. Due to the size, these fit perfectly in the ears and don't tire out the canals (if that makes sense).
* The controls are responsive, but you cannot fall asleep with them because the buttons might be depressed (depending on how you sleep).
Cons:
* Can't answer calls via Siri voice commands or use Siri at all.
* Need two apps to configure the earbuds. One for the earbud advanced configuration, and another for the Live 360 Audio sound configuration.
Use:
I've had these a few days and I can say that I love them. The sound and comfort easily beat the leading competing fruit brand.
I have had a few pairs of earbuds over the years. After replacing the fruit branded ones twice due to constant malfunction, I decided it was time to replace them with another brand. Sony has been a consistent brand for audio in our home (we own some portable speakers of theirs) and thought we'd try their earbuds out.
I'd recommend these headphones because of their price point. If you need more advanced features or richer bass, you might consider other units.
We're sorry to hear the Voice Assist function (Siri) does not work or recognize your commands when making calls on your WF-C700N. Your feedback is extremely important to us and is very much appreciated. When you use an iPhone, Siri may be activated by pressing and holding the button on the right headset unit.
Note: Siri cannot be activated when you say “Hey Siri” even when the iPhone’s “Hey Siri” setting is on. Siri may not be activated depending on specifications of the smartphone or application version.
Despite your concerns, we're glad to hear that you like most of the features, especially the high-quality audio, exceptional comfort, pocket-sized case, easy button operation, and form factor design of these earbud headphones. Focus on your music for as long as you like. These small, lightweight headphones have an ergonomic surface design for all-day comfort, even for smaller ears.

Excellent purchase. Highly satisfied with the sound quality and battery life of these headphones. Very clear and loud, and the microphone on these even works through a beanie. Comfortable as well. A little bit hard to connect from time to time but it’s still worth every penny.

Hi DavidH,
Thanks for sharing your review and experience with the WFC700N. We're glad that you like the sound quality, battery life, and comfort of the headphones. Your feedback about its connectivity is greatly appreciated. For optimum performance, make sure that the software version of the headphones is up-to-date (via the Sony Headphones Connect app).
If the headset automatically connects to the last connected Bluetooth device, you may fail to connect the headset to other devices via a Bluetooth connection. If this is the case, operate the last connected Bluetooth device and disconnect the Bluetooth connection. Set the headset units into the charging case, and close the charging case lid. You may be able to resolve some issues by setting the headset units into the charging case.
Additional troubleshooting steps for connectivity issues are available on this link:

These were holding up over time but I’ll have to switch soon. I originally bought these in late 2022 and they were great until they stopped pairing to my devices. I took them back and got a new pair in 2023 but the new pair had a volume control issue. Meaning they weren’t as loud as the first pair. I would start increasing the volume either by pressing the volume key or sliding the volume up on the screen and right around the 80% mark it would be the loudest and then I would take it to 100% and it went back down. And that volume would only sustain randomly, like I couldn’t keep it loud at 80% on purpose. Idk. Then I thought hmm maybe I should update it. But the app isn’t the best and you have to keep reconnecting your earbuds for the app to work. Oh and when I got the earbuds to connect and the app showed the home screen there was an update, so I updated them and now the sound will randomly drop out or the music will skip when I use them. The other inconvenience is you can’t locate them from your phone if you misplace one. But yeah the noise cancelling works, the fit is nice, and they last a while.

Hi Rezita,
Thank you for sharing your experience. We apologize for the issues you’ve encountered with the earbuds. We understand how frustrating this can be. To address the issue with your earbuds, where the sound randomly drops out or the music skips, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:
Set the headset to “Priority on stable connection” mode using the Sony | Sound Connect app. Reset the headset and initialize it.
About the situation where is not possible to locate them if you misplace one; it's correct. The Sony WF-C700N earbuds do not have a feature that allows users to locate them via a smartphone if they are misplaced. They are not compatible with this technology. We're truly sorry about the inconvenience.
Your unit comes with a 1-year warranty. If the problem persists after trying these steps, we recommend reaching out to our product support team via phone call at 239-245-6366 or chat through this link: https://us.esupport.sony.com/support/s/support-contact?language=en_US Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 9:00 pm ET Saturday - Sunday 10:00 am - 8:00 pm ET.

These are great if you catch them on sale. Sounds great , ANC is decent blocks out majority of outer noise and they are very comfortable in ears for long periods of time. Battery life is also a huge plus! The only downside is that they sometimes stay commected to my phone even if the earbuds are in the case. Besides that i really recommend these.

Love being able to turn off noise canceling. It has been very helpful. Battery life is a little shorter than older versions, which is the only thing that gets annoying. I also like that the earbuds are a little smaller than the old model, so they don't fall out much. Connectivity is ok, but that is more likely due to me having old tech that I refuse to replace, and me not being good with tech either

Superior sound and comfort

The short version: these are really nice earbuds, for what seems to be a reasonable price. In comparison to cheaper buds, the sound quality, comfort factor, ANC, design, and personalization features/app adjustments of these earbuds are superior to bargain models and justify a greater price tag. At the same time, they are not as expensive as some models and offer a lot of features. On sale, I think these are a nice deal. The only real negative for me has to do with the charging case’s battery life being a bit behind the norm (which is not a major gripe for my use but may be for others) and the necessity of using the app to unlock some of the more helpful features.
More detailed review:
Fit and Feel: These earbuds are light, compact, and quite comfortable. Unlike my bargain ANC buds, they actually fit in my ears snugly and are relatively unobtrusive. The choice of earbud tips should help most users find the fit they like. When wearing these, I rarely have to adjust them, and they stand up even to sweaty conditions. I rarely had to tweak the fit during the several runs during which I’ve used them. By contrast, other buds I have used are much chunkier, and slide loose in my ears frequently--especially when sweaty--and have to be adjusted all the time. Once these SONYs are in place, they also don’t feel like much, so I can wear them without feeling desperate to remove them. They are easier to forget about than other buds I have used and very secure.
Operation: These buds are easy to use, partly because they have actual physical buttons on both the left and right as controls. They are unobtrusive and yet much more reliable than touch sensors. I look forward to being able to use them even with gloves on. (That said, it is easy to accidentally press the buttons when putting earbuds in or out, or simply adjusting them.) There are a number of features to control with the buttons; probably too many—at least on the right ear. The left ear has fewer functions, but mostly toggles between ambient sound on or noise canceling on modes. An update through the app has also made volume control native on the buds now. This is vastly superior to not having it. There is also a handy listing of all the controls/commands available on both buds in the app. Some customization is also possible for the buttons.
To start using the buds, it is necessary to download the “headphones connect” app that will walk individuals through the pairing process and settings. I find the reliance on the app a bit troublesome. It’s not that the app isn’t useful, but setting up the buds on any device seems to require the app. Setting up multi-point requires the app, for example. But, the multi-point does work well—mostly. I had trouble getting the multi-point to work with my pc, but, since it worked fine with my mac, tablet, and phone, I think the problem is the PC. It is really nice to have multi-point; I most frequently switch between a watch and phone for using buds, and that is made easy with the app and these earbuds.
The app: the app has a lot of great features that highlight these earbuds’ capabilities. The app allows one to set the levels for the “ambient noise” feature of the headphones. This is the level of pass-through noise that the buds allow in order to keep wearers aware of what is happening around them. This is not just the buds without the noise canceling on; this feature actually feeds information about the surroundings back through the microphones in the buds. This feature is available on a lot of earbuds, but it works very well on these and the different levels of sound amplification (1-20) are helpful for selecting the right sound for a situation. I used the most pass-through noise when running, and I felt comfortable. I could hear cars, dogs barking, and people around me while still hearing music in my ears. The active noise canceling feature takes away all pass-through noise and isolates the listener. ANC is not perfect, and you can hear some noises with it on. However, this feature in particular works much better than my bargain buds’ ANC. I tested it in a variety of settings. I used it while flying, and it effectively nullified the drone of the engines and most of the voices around me. It made a flight where I was surrounded by cranky toddlers bearable—I could still hear some voices around me, but it greatly reduced the sound of the engines and talking. Used while at my desk, I cannot hear myself type and any voices in the same room are hard to hear, and at least, I did not hear them clearly. (I had to take the buds out to answer questions). I also noticed that while working at my desk it drowned out (almost completely) the howling and barking of my dogs. This was impressive. I could also effectively use the buds while playing the drums—they cannot silence the sounds of a drum kit, but they did dampen it enough that I could hear music to play along without destroying my hearing and keeping the volume in my ears in a medium range.
So—some might not find this ANC acceptable; it does not totally undo all noise. But it’s pretty good.
The app also allows the wearer to set adjust the sound with an equalizer, and it provides a pretty cool function for creating custom equalizer settings based on your own feedback.
Overall, the sound is very good. I think the eq settings really let the individual adjust the feel, and I was quite happy with some of the presets available as well. The stereo functionality is really good—the isolation of the sound gives a strong feel for all levels as well as a sense of directionality. This makes the sound feel like it is surrounding the wearer, in my opinion. I can imagine that using these with the 360 Reality Audio feature would be incredible. For these functions, you need to be subscribed to a service, however, so I have not tried them. The sample program on the app was pretty amazing sounding. The buds also support DSEE, SONY’s upscaling programming, which improves sound on highly compressed files. This may sap battery life, though, so it may be something to use sparingly when the source calls for some TLC (like old MP3 files).
The buds also have multi-point connection capability, which is a great feature. I believe this has only recently been added to these through an update via the software. It works well and makes transitioning between devices easy. This is quite welcome to me because I go back and forth often between using my phone and my watch for music, and without multipoint, this can get extremely glitchy. No problem with the SONYs though.
In the end, I would not reach for the bargain buds over these. That said, these do start at over $100. For me, the superior fit and controls make them worth the price increase, though a sale would make them more irresistible.
Downfalls:
The app is used to set the adaptive sound features, and you can only switch between on and off via the buds alone, not adjust the levels easily or see what they are. Supposedly the buds can be set for different modes, like “staying” and “walking” etc., but I have not fully explored how easily these can be set and changed. I mostly either use them at fully noise canceling or fully ambient. There is a voice pass through feature that is supposed to allow voices to come through even with higher levels of ambient sound cancellation. I’ll admit I’m not sure how well this works.
Battery: The charging case does not hold a ton of charge—only enough for one full charge. The way I use the earbuds this has not been much of an issue. I tend to use them for only an hour or two at a time. The buds themselves have been easily charged up by the case after use and never have shown themselves as anything less than full charge in the app. The case, however, has declined. But using this way, the case is at 30-50% charge after perhaps 10 days of on-and-off use. If you are going to use these for an entire day and drain them, and then want a quick charge and continuation, the lacking in the charging case might be a real annoyance. If you use the buds in a more limited way, it’s a minor issue.
Thank you for taking the time to write such an in-depth review of your experience with your WF-C700N. We are happy that you give the product a perfect rating and you appreciate the overall performance of the headphones. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. To make the most of the noise canceling function, turn off the Adaptive Sound Control, and try to turn on the noise canceling function manually when you need it.
For available operating time of the unit, 1x charging with charging case is needed. 7.5 hrs (earbuds) + 7.5 hrs (charging case), total 15 hrs when using Noise Canceling and Bluetooth connection. 10 hrs (earbuds) + 10 hrs (charging case), total 20 hrs when using Bluetooth connection with Noise Canceling switched off. Usage hours may be different from the time described depending on the setting for the headset functions and usage conditions. I was looking for a pair of ear buds that didn’t have the long piece that hangs out of the ear like AirPods do. I remembered the pair of over ear headphones I got my wife several years back from Sony the whm-1000 and figured I would check out the Sony earbuds. These things are awesome, super comfortable, the noise cancelling works well, sounds great, and fits in my ears wellS the only thing I regret now is not spending the extra 100 dollars for the even better pair of Sony earbuds. 5/5

Sony hit is out of the park again with the WF-C700N Wireless Noise Canceling Ear Buds!
I've been a life-long fan of Sony products, and here they continue to deliver on that tradition. They have been known for their 'Mega Bass' for years, and these small ear buds deliver a huge punch for the size. Opening the eco-friendly packaging, no plastics, but recycled cardboard throughout, you get a minimalist design for these ear buds. A charging cord, instructions and a couple of different sized ear tips are all that are in the package.
There is one multifunction button on each side and you do have to read the instructions and memorize the number of presses to control the ear buds. Initially, setting them up was a little bit of a challenge. Holding down the buttons looking for the bluetooth lights, I didn't get any, like you would when normally pairing bluetooth products.
Instead, you need to download the Sony Headphones app, which makes pairing and controlling them so much easier. Once downloaded, you can pair the headphones fairly easily - I say this because it still took two attempts for them to be fully recognized. This is my reason for docking one star in the review, as the initial out of the box experience wasn't straightforward like other bluetooth products I've used/paired with - they weren't intuitive.
HOWEVER - once paired, the experience gets exponentially better. You have complete control over how the ear buds sound. You are taken through a listening experience in the app, where you are given options of what you are listening to, to absolutely fine tune the listening experience. You don't just have a 3 stage equalizer (bass, mid, high), it's 5 stages, but guides you through, playing music, and offering deep preference options. I was really impressed with that.
Pressing the buttons on the ear buds gives you control over the volume, track playing, play, pause, and also the active noise canceling. You can enhance the sounds around you, so that you can still be aware of your surroundings, or you can 'cancel' them out and become fully immersed in your music. And talking of that, the bass that these tiny ear buds puts out is stellar. Very impressed that something so small can produce this amount of bass. Very impressive.
They also have the ability to adapt the noise canceling functionality on the go. So for example, if you are sitting at your desk, you can have the noise canceling active, but when you stand up and move around, it activates the heightened listening, so that you can still hear your music but be aware of your surroundings. Go back to your desk and they revert to full noise canceling again. Great feature you never knew you needed, but so valuable.
And range while walking around, is so impressive! I have a 4000sqft house, my office is in the middle of the house. I was able to walk upstairs and downstairs without any loss of signal from my phone, where other headphones I use would have dropped signal. I was really impressed with the distance I could walk away from my phone, with solid connectivity at all times!
Overall - apart from the pairing issue at the very beginning, and not knowing if they were powered on or not (no lights or indicators on the ear buds), they have been an incredible set of ear buds and will become my go-to set to use daily.
And talking of that - you can pair to more than one product (up to two) with this. So you can have them connected to your computer AND your phone at the same time, and they will select between the two as you receive phone calls or as you work.
I have no hesitation in recommending these ear buds. Great product!
Hi Cupra, Great! The sound is good quality. It cancels out most noise, such as someone talking on a speakerphone, you would just hear muffled noise. However, if you are using them to go to the gym they might fall out easily if you sweat a lot. Overall, they are pretty comfy. Most of the time I forget I have them on, or think I have them on when I don't. Also, I love that the app tells you the battery life for both earbuds and the case.

Many Features to Explore

I have rotten luck with earbuds. Wired, wireless…doesn’t matter. My ear canals must be smaller than the average person’s because earbuds don’t stay in my ears. The last pair that I purchased, the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, are by far my favorite pair up to this point. The gorgeous violet color is what attracted me to them, and they perform well.
However, they constantly fall out of my ears. If any earbud falls out of your ears, they are useless, no matter how pretty they are.
The Sony WF-C700N are more utilitarian in looks, however these earbuds have so many features that I don’t know where to begin.
The first thing for me was…they STAY IN MY EARS! I was shocked. I tested them while walking in a mass merchandise store, listening to my phone. I had no issues with the bud(s) slipping out of my ears while moving (not only walking, but reaching for items on shelves, reaching down into the cart, etc.).
That’s only scratching the surface on these earbuds.
They are compact, so they fit easily in my purse. Because the case is oblong vs. square like my Samsung buds’ case is, it fits better in small purses.
I had issues with the initial setup, though. I followed the instructions, but the Headphones app was not sensing the buds for some reason. I tried to connect via Bluetooth and the phone didn’t read the buds that way, either. There wasn’t really anything for me to do differently, as they go into pairing mode when the buds were removed from the case. I ended up having to restart my phone for it to finally sync.
Once I had the app working, I found that it was full of features. The app will sense what environment you are in and adjust the sound quality accordingly. My environment seemed to always default to Ambient Sound.
You can also have the app analyze your ear shape to have the earbuds perform customized to your ear. However, you can only use this feature with certain pre-approved apps. The only app I had heard of was Tidal, and I’m not a subscriber to that service. I tried using the 360 Reality Audio app to analyze my ears. The analysis was completed; the 360 app, though, is for live audio. It asks you to put in ticket codes, which I didn’t have. I was able to try listening to a free music video on the 360 app for testing. The sound was good, but I didn’t notice anything that would lead me to believe that the sound was “tailored” to my specific ear type.
I could go on, but this would be less of a review and more of an essay.
If you are a basic user, these are a great pair of earbuds. If you are more of an audiophile, then you will have many features to tweak your experience.
Thank you for telling us your experience with your new WF-C700N! We're so delighted to hear they fit perfectly and stay in your ears as well as you like the incredible sound quality these earbud headphones deliver. We also appreciate that you are utilizing the different customizations and built-in equalizer on the Sony Headphones Connect app.
We're sorry to learn that you've had some issues with your headphones (earbuds) won't connect to the Headphones Connect app or the app doesn't detect my headphones. If you encounter the same issue, update the Sony Headphones Connect app to the latest version and connect the headphones again.

Solid performer at a good price

The Sony WF-C700N earbuds with noise canceling deliver good performance for the price. I have them in sage color that is soft on the eyes and gives them a more modern look.
Setup requires downloading the Sony earphones app. Instructions are easy to follow and Bluetooth connection was problem free. The app is easy to navigate. Lots of options to configure the sound with an equalizer and other digital sound processes, and to customize the buttons. I quickly felt comfortable navigating the app and customizing the earbuds to my liking.
The case is rechargeable through a usb-c connection; no wireless charging is offered. You can monitor the charge on the app. It charges the earbuds quickly. From my experience, I was able to do about five full charges of the earbuds when they were running very low.
The earbuds sound really good for the price. I own some high-end earphones and they come close; the highs are clear and not too straining, the mids are not too present and the bass is solid. I also listen to podcasts and they reproduce the vocals quite well. The noise canceling feature works great and mutes the outside distraction effectively. I use them more at work and wear them most of my workdays. I play different kinds of music and podcasts at 60% volume between 5 to 6 hours at a time. The batteries handle that easily; I usually have about 25-30% of charge left after those marathon sessions. They’re light and sit well outside the ear canal and are comfortable to wear for long hours. Those are regular earbuds and not made for exercise. They sit tight in your ear but they will fall off if you keep moving your head abruptly. Overall, the sound performance is solid.
The only gripe I have is that they require registration and music streaming subscription to take advantage of the Sony 360 Reality Audio. Music streaming such as Amazon Music and Tidal are compatible with the 360 Reality Audio. My subscribed music streamer does not support it unfortunately and I’m not able to experience it for now.
To conclude, I will say that besides not being able to exploit the full capabilities of those earbuds, I’m impressed with their sound quality, battery and noise canceling performances. I would describe the Sony WF-C700N earbuds as mid level earphones at an accessible price that deliver close to high end performance.
That's very generous of you! We are so delighted to hear how much you're enjoying your WF-C700N and you are overall satisfied with your purchase. We're happy that you like the great range of frequencies, from low beats to high vocals, noise canceling feature works effectively, and you are comfortable wearing them for extended periods. Good to know you point out you can personalize the sound of your Sony headphones or earbuds to your specific audio needs and the numerous audio presets curated by sound experts in the Sony Headphones Connect app that is also noteworthy.
It's unfortunate that your music streaming service does not support the 360 Reality Audio at the moment. Your feedback regarding how the 360 Reality Audio works with the unit is greatly appreciated. Once you subscribe to a compatible music streaming service, you can enjoy 360 Reality Audio with your headphones and smartphones. Visit Music.com for a simulated 360 Reality Audio music experience.

Solid buds at a great price

These Sony buds are fantastic and offer a lot of bang for the buck. I replaced my daily drivers of 2 years with these and can tell you they don't feel budget to me at all.
Box contains the pillbox looking charging case, buds and a USB C cable. As I already have the Sony music app, pairing was a breeze. I do recommend downloading the app so you can take full advantage of what the buds can offer. I absolutely love Equalizer and not only can use the presets it comes with, but also my own preference but adjusting lows, mids and highs manually.
Sound quality is excellent. I have no complaints while watching movies, playing mobile games or listening to my library from metal to classical.
Comfort is surprisingly great as well. I am using the medium tips that were preinstalled and they fit nice and snug. No discomfort from a 8 hour desk job and also at the gym while running on the treadmill.
With that being said, battery life just keeps going. 1 gripe is that when you charge the case, it'll turn from red to green in real time, but the app won't update the % until you replace the buds and take them out again. I used them in a 9 hour shift and they lasted all day, only having to charge it during my 1 hour lunch break.
Noise cancellation works well and so does the pass through. Quite shocked for a pair of buds that are considered budget. While on, I would clap or snap my fingers close to my ears and would barely hear it at all.
If you are looking at ear buds in the $100 price range and want the best, here they are. Sony did an absolute rock solid job on these and I would definitely recommend them in a heartbeat.
We're extremely pleased to hear our WF-C700N Truly Wireless Noise Canceling In-ear Headphones perfectly matches your needs and expectations. It's amazing to hear you were able to pair the unit with your phone in a breeze and you are enjoying its incredible audio and noise cancellation. Deliver punchy bass or boost vocals on your favorite track with a simple swipe up or down. Your assessment is spot on, the ultimate custom preset is your own. Sound is personal, and there's no right or wrong to set it up.

Great noise canceling earbuds but app didn’t work

I got these Sony headphones about a week ago and have been testing them since then. I primarily got these since I had lost my previous workout headphones. I usually don’t get the earbuds since they tend to fall out when I workout, but thought I would give them a try.
My previous headphones had an ear loop to ensure they stayed in place while working out. Despite these being earbuds, they stayed in place very well, though I did have to push them back in from time to time…usually after doing fast motions like jumping. The buds come with multiple silicone tip sizes so I tested out multiple sizes until I found one that was comfortable and stayed in place pretty well.
What I was really impressed with for these earbuds was the noise canceling. I really wasn’t expecting them to work as well as it did. The first time I tried the earbuds was while watching tv in the background. I had forgotten about the active noise canceling (ANC) until I put them in and couldn’t hear the tv any longer. Wow! Best noise canceling headphones I’ve ever used. I usually use over the ear ANC whenever I fly (which is just about every week) and these worked better than those high dollar headphones. I tested them on my last flight and was really impressed.
The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is that I could not get them to connect to the app (connected to phone without a problem). I tried multiple times, deleting then reloading the app, resetting the earbuds, restarting the phone, etc. I searched online for a solution and tried multiple ideas with nothing working. I kept getting an error that said “Cannot connect to YY2968. Check that the power of the device is on.” That was really the only downside to these headphones and they work fine without the app.
These Sony earbuds exceeded my expectations for comfort, ANC, and staying in place for most workouts. I recommend these earbuds highly, especially if I can figure out how to get the app to connect to the buds.
Awesome! We're really glad to hear you're happy and satisfied with the excellent noise canceling feature, amazing sound quality, and overall performance of our WF-C700N! Glad to know you feel more comfortable and there is no movement on the WF-C700N after you've attached earbud tips to another size that fits your ears better. We're sorry you've had some difficulties getting the unit to connect to the Sony Headphones Connect app initially.
If this issue occurs, we recommend you update the Sony Headphones Connect app to the latest version and connect the headphones again. If the issue still occurs, please visit this link for additional troubleshooting steps to consider: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/articles/00264230

Affordable Sony Noise Canceling Earbud

I've been looking for true wireless noise canceling headphones for a while now and haven't been able to find a pair with great sound, comfortable to wear, affordable and are packed with features. The hope was the Sony WF-C700N Noise Canceling earbuds would be the answer…and they are!
Sony’s packaging is top-notch and well thought out to protects the product and it’s all recycled material. The first thing I noticed upon opening the box was the small size of the WF-C700N earbuds. I’ve tried a number of other earphones and have found some to be too large for everyday use/running/biking. These earbuds are very small in comparison.
In the box:
The earbuds, charging case, charging cable and S, M and L earpieces and paperwork/quick start guide.
Set Up & Performance:
In terms of a quick start guide, it's pretty straight forward. The earphones essentially connected to my iPhone 13 Pro as soon as I took them out of the charging/carry case. I already have the Sony Headphone App installed on my phone for a pair of over-the-ear Sony headphones. Once connected through the app, there was a firmware update that needed to be run. It took a few minutes and then the earphones were ready to use.
The buds came with a medium sized fitment attached and they seemed to fit pretty well, so I fired up some tunes to see what they’re all about. After walking around a bit, I noticed the right earbud was somewhat loose and had to readjust it a couple of times. They are meant to be inserted and twisted into a “locked” position within the ear. Initially I wasn’t inserting the earphones firmly enough, so the fitment issue was a “user error”.
The sound quality is good, but was lacking that rich bass sound expected from Sony. At this point I used the Sony app to see what adjustments could be made to the sound quality. The app is feature-rich and has a bunch of sound adjustments in the form of pre-programmed equalizer settings. With a couple adjustments, I was able to correct the sound and add a little extra bass. There are a number of setups and controls to try…so most users will get the sound setup they are after. The app also provides settings for the ambient sound/noise cancelling features, auto power off, changing button function on the earbuds, etc.
Phone calls sounded crisp and clear, these earphones have definitely become my go to solution when on the go for the phone feature alone.
Next, I ran a quick 3 miles to see if they would hold in place and sound the same outside. The sound quality was great outdoors and the ambient settings are great allowing the user to select how much of the outside world comes through. The connection was solid from both my iPhone and my Apple Watch. Now I can run with just my watch and these headphones and still stay in touch with the outside world...if wanted!
Pros:
- great quality Sony construction, fit and functionality
- Noise Cancelling / Ambient settings
- Easy to setup and use right out of the box with or without the Sony Headphones app
- Included portable charging case for additional battery life and carrying on the go
- Phone calls are easy to manage and excellent sound quality
- Strong Bluetooth - Never lost connection, even when going in other rooms in my house
- One of the smallest truly wireless headphones out there
- Great value
Cons:
- Earbuds did move around in my ear a bit, seemed to not want to “lock” into place that easily
I would highly recommend these truly wireless headphones if you're looking for great sounding, comfortable headphones that have plenty of features and support phone calls. The addition of noise cancelling is an added bonus!
We're truly delighted to hear your purchase went well and you like most of the features of these truly wireless earbuds, especially the great audio, noise cancellation and phone quality. Good to know that you were able to revitalize your music after tweaking the Equalizer on the Sony Headphones Connect app. Choosing the right fit for your earbud tips is not only essential to ensure the best audio experience and maximum noise cancelation. You should naturally be able to enjoy your listening experience without any discomfort.
Check that you are wearing the headset properly in your ears. Wear the headset so that the earbud tip is comfortably situated as deep in the ear canal as possible.
When trying to find the best earbuds, try the sizes in order from the larger sizes to the smaller sizes. After attaching the earbud tips, check that there is no movement on the WF-C700N. (Shake your head back and forth.) Note: If they fall off or move in your ears when you shake your head, select a different size. The best size earbud tips may be different for each ear.

Super comfortable earbuds. The quality of the sound is unmatched. I got this to replace a Bose earbud I have which still works but they are pretty uncomfortable. Noise cancellation is pretty good.
I recommend this product to anyone looking for earbuds since the price is pretty good, the sound is excellent and the best of all is the comfort in the ear.

These are my second Sony wireless earbuds. The first ones (WF-C500) are still working perfect as well. Enough bass for my needs and the battery life is fantastic. I can wear them all day at work and they're still going strong. I prefer earbuds that fit entirely inside my ear and these are very comfortable. Great earbuds without a crazy price tag.
