      Hi Darrah,

Thank you for the review and we're sorry for the confusion. The battery will depend on the settings used for the headphones with usage conditions and functions. If you set the following functions, the available operating time of the battery becomes short:

      - Sound quality mode during Bluetooth playback: Priority on sound quality
      - Noise canceling function/Ambient Sound Mode
      - Equalizer
      - DSEE

Take note that actual performance varies based on settings, environmental conditions, storage, and usage. Batteries are consumable products, and their capacity degrades over time as they age. Sony does not guarantee the life span of the battery.

In the box is the headphones, a charging case, a USB-A to USB-C power cord, instructional manual and extra silicone ear buds. First impression - The headphone case is tiny, like really REALLY small. (I own other Sony products and this is definitely the smallest product.) Design - The Sony WF-C700N (C7s) are a very portable, very sleek addition to Sony’s long list of headphones. Right out of the box the case is very small and light, as a woman with small hands it is even tiny in my palm. This is excellent for anyone with small pockets, but a bit worrisome as black cases this small tend to disappear inside large purses so be mindful. Comfort - The comfort is really nice, better than expected. I can wear them with my gamer headset over top of them and they are still comfortable. I have worn them to work and kept them in as long as there is battery life. Noise Cancelling - The C7s come with noise canceling, as well as a 360 reality audio feature. *The 360 audio feature is only for people that use Tidal, or another 3rd party app that supports Sony’s software. There is also a Headphone app that automatically requests to be downloaded on some smartphones. Sound - The overall sound is good, slightly higher than the bar one would expect from Sony. Clear and crisp, not to mention loud. Without the noise canceling, you can listen to someone talking right next to you which is convenient for if you want to keep them in your ears for a long period of time. With the noise canceling on, music about halfway volume is louder than even the wind rushing by if you’re driving a car with the windows down. Battery - The only and main downside of these headphones is the battery life; without the noise canceling it does last about seven and a half hours, but with it on they only last maybe five or six and with the case only having enough charge for one more full charge that’s ten-twelve hours of battery. Busy as I am, that normally means charging it on the way home from work if I haven’t had to charge them at work because they’d died already. I haven’t really paid attention to how long the case actually charges the headphones but I have put them in for 15-20 minutes and went from battery low to battery high. The case itself drains really fast and it will need to be recharged after you charge your headphones at least once. The app has a notification that tells you when the case battery is low and I felt like I got a notification often. Overall they are a nice pair of headphones, another nice addition from Sony as a whole and and great gift for a younger listener. I would give the headphones a 4 out of 5 (Cloud Nine, until they die) Would I recommend to friends and family? Sure, but I would make sure that they are aware of the battery life.

      Hi VINCH,

Thanks for reaching out to us with your concern. We're sorry you've been running into difficulty. Choosing the right fit for your earbud tips is not only essential to ensure the best audio experience and maximum noise cancelation. You should naturally be able to enjoy your listening experience without any discomfort.

Check that you are wearing the headset properly in your ears. Wear the headset so that the earbud tip is comfortably situated as deep in the ear canal as possible.

When trying to find the best earbuds, try the sizes in order from the larger sizes to the smaller sizes. After attaching the earbud tips, check that there is no movement on the WF-C700N. (Shake your head back and forth.)
Note: If they fall off or move in your ears when you shake your head, select a different size. The best size earbud tips may be different for each ear.

For low sound quality, please check our help guide link to isolate and troubleshoot the issue: https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/2968/v1/en/contents/TP1000779956.html

You can also make few adjustments to your headphones settings to suit your needs. Please ensure you've downloaded the Sony Headphones Connect app. This will give you more control over your headphones and their performance. Fine, but not a suitable replacement for Airpods

I bought these seeking a more affordable alternative to apple Airpods. Pros: inexpensive, good audio quality, decent battery life, easy pairing. Cons: slow to charge, the earbuds are heavy and uncomfortable, prone to falling out. the outward facing buttons are too sensitive and i will often toggle settings by accident. These serve a decent back-up pair of wireless earbuds, but I will be repurchasing Airpods as my main set.

Hi princessmilk, we're glad you are enjoying your new earbuds. We're sorry to hear that you have an issue with your Sony unit.

It’s recommended to ensure that the charging port and cable are clean and undamaged. Trying a different charger or charging cable might also help to determine if the issue lies with the charger or the earbuds. Experimenting with different sizes of ear tips that come with the earbuds might help you find a better fit. Ensuring that you are wearing the earbuds correctly can also improve comfort and reduce the likelihood of them falling out.

These are great ear buds if you're looking for something with noise canceling! I turn them on and can't hear anything, it's so nice. They're also pretty comfortable and fit really well in my ears, and notoriously ear buds have not been my friend. The battery life is really great, too. I charge the case maybe once a week and it I've only seen it go down to 50%. The sound quality is fantastic, as well. Overall I'm very happy with these!

Great audio and noise-cancelling while they are in

The audio on these little ear buds is exactly what you would expect from Sony. I've had a pair of the 1000 series over-ear headphones since the first generation, and they are the best headphones I've ever had. The audio quality of these is right up there, but both the quality and the noise-cancelling are highly dependent on how well they fit and stay in your ear canal. I've never had much luck with this style of headphones staying in, and these are no different for me. They are great when I first put them in, and stay in well as long as I don't move around too much or eat anything. The battery life is as good as advertised. I've used these throughout a workday without any issue, and they recharge in the case over night. The controls leave a little to be desired, but are sufficient. You can answer calls, play and pause, or bring up the assistant on your phone, but that's about it. You can turn on/off the noise cancelling as well, though I've never seen much use in this functionality. If you're talking to someone, it's generally better/more respectful to just take them out of your ears...

The Sony WF-C700N wireless noice cancelling earbuds provide great sound at a value price. Yes, you can buy more expensive buds, but they will only give you a marginal improvement over these Sony models. These earbuds are remarkably clear sounding and you would think they are priced higher. If you didn't know that they cost in the low $100 range, you would think that $200-300 would be a more reasonable guess. Installation doesn't get easier than these buds. Just take them out of the case and you are automatically paired and ready to use. One of the plusses that most manufacturer don't want to advertise is that the magnet is quite strong in the case with this device, so placing them back in is solid. The fit in the ear is just perfect. I did not have to make any adjustments to fit perfectly in my ear. The only negative is that there are only basic instructions and a warranty included. To get more accurate instructions, you need to go to Sony's website. If you're looking for a solid set of earbuds with high audio capability, The Sony WF-C700N would be a great choice.

Decent Quality Bluetooth Earbuds w/ "Pro" Features

    Tech Insider Network Member
    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The Sony WF-C700N is a set of Bluetooth earbuds which pack in a bunch of features in what's a pretty nondescript package. The earbuds have a conventional shape in a muted matte black color (the charging case too). They come in a case which as you'd expect, doubles as a charger. Pairing is pretty straightforward. You can do it with Sony's Headphone app or just direct to your phone or laptop. Unfortunately, while the first pair is straightforward (it ships in pairing mode), pairing to a second device requires pressing a button on the case. The downside, your connectivity is limited if you lose the case. However, as the case is required to charge the earbuds, perhaps that's not too big an issue. Sound quality is good, not the best but better than a lot of wired earbuds. It seems ear canal comfort has been improved as I was able to wear these for longer than a few hours. The sound quality is good enough to listen to music through work, my ride to the gym, then my workout. I appreciate the IPX rating and the texture was such that I didn't feel these were at risk of falling out of my ears doing my normal strength training. They feel like there would be resistance to coming out while running so would either be good or I'd have some advance warning. The noise canceling was ok, not at a level where it eliminates a nearby AC unit though it does lower the volume of the drone. In some transitions between songs, I did feel a bit of pressure as it seemed the noise cancelling ratcheted up in the absence of music playing. For my ride, having ambient noise mode was great and being able to activate it without having to go through the app, even better. And ambient isn't just turning off noise cancelling, instead you're still in noise cancelling mode, it just also pipes in some audio from your environment. The app does have a setting to help prioritize voices but I honestly couldn't tell much of a difference with that on or off. It would be nice if it had an automatic feature to switch to ambient or reduce volume if I start talking/ The manual claims 15 hours of battery life. Like every other earbud I've had in the past couple years, that figure must be taken with a hearty dose of salt. For sure, you can achieve a solid 4 hours in noise cancelling/ambient mode. But I'm not seeing how they get to 15 hours. Maybe that's 15 hours that it's ON, but not actually being used for music or voice. Calls over the earbuds were decent. I didn't get any complaints from people on the other end. So, at the very least it's as good as other earbuds or the multi-mic noise cancelling on my cell phone. I liked being able to have the earbuds paired simultaneously to multiple devices. While I mostly use earbuds with my cell phone, for laptop/PC zoom calls, I sometimes will take those on my earbuds, especially if I need to move around. Being able to have the laptop connect immediately without needing to go through the pairing process is a time saver. Another little things worth mentioning, you can use either earbud in a single earbud mode. This sometimes comes up if I'm in a situation where I know I'll be taxing the earbud's battery life and so use one to increase runtime. In my short testing, I did notice that the battery seemed to run down more when outdoors versus at my desk. I'm not sure if it's because my phone is in a pocket versus siting on a table an generally in line of sight. In all, the WF-C700N is a surprisingly well featured set of Bluetooth earbuds. Are there some things that could be improved - yes. Do they need to be? No, these are pretty decent earbuds as-is.

For the available operating time, usage hours may be different from the time described above depending on the settings for the headset functions and usage conditions.

The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices. Also, if the size of the earbud tips does not match the size of your ear canals or the headset is not worn properly in your ears, you may not obtain the correct sound qualities, noise canceling effects, or call performance.

We really appreciate all your inputs. Our WF-C700N noise canceling headphones, all-day comfort and immersive sound quality allow you to enjoy music anywhere. They have the Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) and Sony’s unique driver which reproduce your music with authentic vocals and powerful bass. With Wind Noise Reduction Structure, these headphones your voice clearly, even on a windy day. Thank you for your purchase and for choosing Sony! -Jess Sony_US

They are pretty cool. Sound quality is awesome and when im talking on the phone, the other person can actually hear me. I also own a pair of galaxy earbuds and the beats and i dont see any difference with the 2. Atleast with Sony, you can control the sound quality( bass, tremble). These earbuds are pretty dope. Everyone is running to buy airpods, beats, galaxy, bose. Check out other earbuds and learn the specs like i did. The price is not bad. The sound quality withstands any other competitors

I would recommend this to a friend
