The Sony earbuds are great, but have a short battery life. The sound is great and I like the fact that you can switch between the noise reduction to environmental sounds or just playing them as is. They remain in my ear and are comfortable, I use them for work only. I realized that during hot days, they slip a little from the moisture. As stated earlier, the sound is great but a little expensive.

The sound quality was great. Good bass with clear vocals. The fit was also good, no concerns of falling out during a workout. The issue? battery life. It was advertised to last 3hrs on a single charge, which is already concerning but I was willing to give it a try. The battery lasted 1hr and 20 mins in real world gym use. The volume was at 50% and noise cancelling was off. For the price and intended use, the battery life was a non-starter, unacceptable and awful. Promptly return and purchased the Jaybird RUN.

Wish they had a volume control within the set. They Do blockout ambient noise greatly. Fit with great comfort and ease. I bought these due to the cost, best buy had put a price reduction half the original cost. Has quality sound just volume issues.

I really like that they are small and they came with a charging case. They have noise canceling features which is awesome if you have loud kids and you just wanna jam or watch something. It’s quick charging but I don’t like that the battery doesn’t last super long. Overall I would recommend them. My husband and I both have a pair.

Great fit and sound for the price. Loved the fact that it stays in my ears during my workout. If I had to comment on a negative it would be the case. It’s a little difficult to put it back in the case to recharge and it doesn’t have the long recharged hours as the others around. But what can go wrong with a Sony!!

The only thing negative I have to say about these is that they don't last but just over 2 hours on a full charge. However, just another hour charge or so is enough to get you back in the game. Even though they are just earbuds, the noise cancelling and bass are outstanding.

I liked the sound and the fit, but the charging case did not feel very secure, and I ended up not liking that you can’t control play/volume without pulling your phone out. Ultimately returned them and am trying a different pair.

Sound is crisp and they fit well in my ears. They are very lightweight so you forget they are in sometimes. On/connect/off button is super simple and the case could be easier to use. I liked the color, good for workouts I had no issues with them falling out.

They are awesome for working out. They stay in your ears. Don’t feel like they’ll fall out. Very stable. The sound quality is good. I wish they had more options for the buttons.l as far as skipping a song and so on. The water resistant feature is awesome especially for workouts.

These fit great in my ear. Sound is wonderful. The buttons on the device are easy to use without jamming the buds further in the ear canal. The downside is if they disconnect from my phone it is a pain to reconnect. Maybe something I am doing wrong but it is frustrating.

These were a purchase to use in the gym for 2 hours on the treadmill to listen to music or an audio book. I walk for 2 hours and it’s rare that I get 2 hours on a full charge. It’s disappointing since otherwise these are good. But for this price, I’d expect the battery to last longer. I now have a Bose product that I use for long term. I use these at work where I spend enough time in meetings for these to charge and have time.

I really like these earbuds theyre comfortable and never leave my ears soar. The bass on them is really great but i wish it had longer battery life. I get about 3 hours on the battery. That's the only con ive found with these earbuds

Great for Audiophiles But Poor Battery Life/Calls

I've had these for 3 months now. Love the headphones and are a great step up from the XBS-50 that many people have had. I use these daily for transit in NYC, working out and being at home. Really like the "Excited" Equalizer setting and love the X1A functionality so that I can override connections from a previously paired device without having to re-pair or disconnect. Noise cancelling is great! They stay in my (large) ears very nicely without an issue coming out. A few things that should hopefully improve: - Sometimes the audio will be JUST slightly off when watching video content (specifically YouTube). Not all the time but it is true that it happens sometime but its not very annoying in my opinion. - Battery needs to be a LOT better. I can get about 2 hours per charge but it will absolutely shut off after that. Very annoying when you're on a flight. - Calls are terrible. No one can hear you. Just don't do it.

Overall very pleased with the product. Comfortable to wear. Great sound quality. Noise canceling improves sound experience. Battery life was the only knock. lasted for a 1 hour workout and part of the ride home at 3/4 volume . (about 1.75 hr)

Needed to break down and get my first pair of ear buds cause lets face it...you cant wear a headset in public due to masks being no longer optional. So i found these beauties. Lightweight and great sound quality and not to mention loud. However...the battery life. Cmon sony! Now i grew up on Sony and i gotta tell you all...they went from a leader to a teamate to a bench warmer. My $28 headset last 8 hours strong sometimes 12 hours or more. Fully charge these nicely decored plugs last 4 hours...maybe 5hours tops in ideal conditions. Plusthe choice of silicon used to protect the ear hole area. But all in all...i give 4.2 out of 5. They are fancy and desireable...just need a little more ooomph in power. And for under $60...im tranquil!!!

Sound is good, fit is good, noise cancelling is good, the only thing missing is a volume button on the unit itself, otherwise almost perfect. Would be nice if battery life were a little longer, but what can you expect in such a small piece.

I love everything about the wireless earbuds. But one crucial aspect I purchased these earbuds in the was the advertised battery life of 7-8 hours advertised; I only get around two hours on a full charge. I take 2-3 hour hikes several times a week, each hike the headphones go dead at the two-hour mark. It's frustrating as I love the fit and sound quality.

Easy to connect, comfortable, and great sound. The lid on the charging case seems like it would easily break off if someone got a little "rough" with it. The charge in the ear buds does not quite hit the claimed 3 hours, that is with noise canceling active, I'm going to turn that off and see what happens. Overall a decent set of ear buds.

Once you figure out how to use these - with the various sound settings - then they are an excellent product. This comment also includes how to charge them. Not much battery time, but consider their size and comfort, and then realize - for more battery, then bigger battery, and then more weight. Still, though, one wonders if they're the best batteries, as 2-3 hours isn't much time. BIG PROBLEM is audio lag when watching video's - very annoying, and no workaround other than to change the blue tooth protocol, and that is NOT fun. Hopefully a future fix will address that.

    Excellent earbuds for me

I have them now for about 10 days and bought them for my sports activities -- I had several opportunities to test them while running and working out (gym, parkour, circuit training). Set-up (pairing and app download, settings) was very simple and worked right away. The earbuds came partially charged and I put them in the case to charge completely. For my activities the battery life is fully sufficient and since I put them back in the case (which is the charger as well) afterwards they re-charge and would have 70% after 15 min (as the manual says). A complete charge of the earbuds is 1.5 hours. The case requires 3 hrs and would re-charge the earbuds 2 more times which brings the total to 9 hrs. Completely ok for me. In the app settings you can choose between Priority on Sound or Priority on Connection. I have read that some people have connection issues and therefore the default setting is Priority on Connection. I changed that to Prio on Sound Quality because on an iPhone it changes the audio codec to AAC (on iPhones) instead of using SBC. The manual said that SBC consumes more battery power than AAC mode and with AAC I am getting the 3 hrs instead of 2.5 hours battery life with SBC. I had no connection issues so far. Sound with noise cancelation works as expected and the Ambient sound setting (either geared towards voice or general ambient noise) works well as long as you do not have the music very loud. That makes sense I guess. I had initially some problems to have the earbuds stay in my ears, however, after I figured out how to put them in, I have no issues while really moving a lot during my workouts. I used the Large arc support instead of the default Medium arc. I am sweating a lot and had no issues so far. I did not try them during rain though. I tested the hands-free function in connection with SIRI on my iPhone and it works just fine: I turn up or down the volume or switch to the next track. Therefore I do not need further buttons on the earbuds to e.g. adjust the volume. During phone calls only the left earbud is utilized and active which is a little weird in the beginning, but I think I do not care. People can hear me well, so I guess the mic works as expected. The sound is great (for me) and I am using one of the equalizer presets in the app. You cannot modify the equalizer beyond the presets, but that is fine with me. Overall I am very happy with my choice.
