Definitely the best sound and noise cancellation you can get on the market. You almost not feel it over the head the soft materials make is very comfortable.

Sony M5 better than Bose!

sold my m3's. these sound better and have a longer battery life. of couse the noise cancelling is great. just used them on a 3 hour flight sitting 2 rows away from screaming baby. i watched a movie hand did not hear the baby at all, even during quiet scenes. better than the bose headphones i have.

These headphones offer excellent noise cancellation and because they are very light can be worn for extended periods, such as during a long flight, without discomfort that some heavier headphones can cause. Sound quality is terrific and am overall very happy with these headphones.

Great audio quality

Excellent audio quality, just the right amount of bass, significantly superior sound compared to Apple products and cheaper. The only drawback was the headphones, as they caused perspiration in the ears after prolonged use.

Great headphones for traveling around anywhere I have tried the AirPods max but I like these more because they sound great and they are very light to wear. Which is a key feature for me the AirPods are to heavy to wear for long periods of time

Great headphones! If you aren’t near an antenna

These XM5 is great. Super lightweight, great noise cancellation, and solid price for what you get. Unfortunately, my job is near an antenna and due to this, I am picking up a rock radio station. I believe this may be due to lower quality components in the headphones which is disappointing. I can turn in my office chair and the clarity adjusts from the radio station. It really is disappointing because I purchased these headphones because I heard such positive reviews about the noise cancellation. I can’t listen to music or block out noise without hearing,” Every rose has its thorn” in my right ear. I’m sure anyone who is not working or living by an antenna can benefit from these great headphones. However, due to (assumingely) lower quality parts and the inability to even use the features it’s meant to offer; I cannot recommend this product. Just to add, I have used other headphones from different brands and no issues similar to this. I have tried resetting it to factory and no changes.

Hi Liam, we appreciate you taking the time writing us your experience using the XM5. We'd love to help you troubleshoot your problem and turn this into a better experience.
If the effect of noise canceling is not sufficient, please try the following:
Make sure the noise canceling function is turned on.
Adjust the headset into a comfortable position.
The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices.
When the Adaptive Sound Control on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app is turned on, the wearer's actions, like walking or running, are detected. The noise canceling function is automatically adjusted and the Ambient Sound Mode may be activated according to these actions.
To make the most of the noise canceling function, turn off the Adaptive Sound Control, and try to turn on the noise canceling function manually when you need it.

Absolutely love my headphones. I used them when I was a dog bather to drown out the dryers and enjoy my music while I worked. They always did an excellent job. I never had any issue with them.

Great headphone, Anc is great on these headphone. Would be better if priced around 180 max. I would buy again recommend for quality and sound. Apps works great with them. The case is great too. They look authentic and fot well over ear.

Good for casual listeners (only them)

Earphones are very good if you’re looking for a well mastered casual listen, definitely not for audiophiles! The hi-fi system is tuned to a specific master/engineer and will change the producers intentions to instrument (or song in totality)! Would not recommend to music producers! But for casual listeners, it’s a good choice… maybe not for the price though, if you like how they sounds they’ll be a good suite, but if you want true transparency this is not your choice!

It's been a few months since purchasing the Sony xm5 headphones and so far they are great! They cancel out noise and are very loud. Battery last a long time. The only issue I had was connecting it to different devices, I had to download the Sony app.

This noise cancelation headset is in a category of its own. I have tried the Bose and Beats but this one gives me the best of both worlds. The clear, crisp sounds of Bose combined with the deep bass of Beats. I love this headset.

Best for guys with a larger head, sound is okay

Right now the best sounding noise canceling headphones that fit my head. However, there not great. At the price I expected better sounding. But they fit my head which is the most important issue for me. I tried the top 4 in this class of headphones. It cancels out the noise well. But the music does not sound that great.

We can isolate this issue by playing several different music and use different sources. When playing music, if the headset and the transmitting Bluetooth device are connected via an HFP or HSP Bluetooth connection, switch the Bluetooth connection to A2DP with the connected device. Despite your concern, it's good to hear that you still like them, especially the noise canceling feature. With our WH-1000XM5 headphones, you can enjoy magnificent sound quality which is engineered to perfection and have a battery life that can last up to 30 hours with quick charging (3 min charge for 3 hours of playback). These are great headphones, comfortable and sound great, my only complaint is that even on the tightest setting they still slip off my head. It could just be a me problem but I find myself not wearing them as often as I’d like because they’re too big for my head

These headphones are amazing. The sound quality and noise cancelling was done very well. I use it to study and when I need to go in my own world. Battery life is also very long. I don’t have to charge it for a couple days with constant use.
