High quality sound and very comfortable. Best battery life I ever used

I’m really enjoying my new Sony headphones. The comfort and active noise cancellation (ANC) are the true highlights, making them perfect for casual, all-day wear. I love the color I chose, and the build quality feels incredibly durable. Practical features are excellent: the battery life easily lasts a full day and charges incredibly fast—getting from 0% to 50% in less than 30 minutes. Pairing is simple, and I especially appreciate the slim, well-designed case that tucks neatly into a bag and secures the headphones with a satisfying magnetic lock. While they aren’t the absolute best in pure sound quality (need to tinker with the sound connect app), the overall package is fantastic. It's worth noting a couple of minor points: the microphone quality can struggle in very loud settings, the volume controls took a little getting used to, and the ear cups can get slightly warm during extended use—though not enough to make them unwearable. These are small considerations in an otherwise outstanding experience. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, comfortable, and feature-rich pair of everyday headphones.

These are very light and feel comfortable on the head. However the ear cups aren’t all that comfortable. It’s like they partially sit on my ears, instead of my ears resting inside the cup. Sound quality is ok but not anything to yell greatness about. Noise cancellation is ok but I think Bose QC2 is a lot better. I also feel APM transparency mode is a better too. Design … well this is why I exchanged mine for the APM. The XM6 had me looking I was wearing gigantic earmuffs from the 1980s. In the end these were an ok pair of premium headphones. But the design was not for me.

I’m upgrading from my well loved Sony XH1000XM3 headphones. The XM6 are a worthwhile upgrade, the sound quality is excellent to my untrained ears. The noise cancelling is top notch and I often am surprised when I take off my headphones how much noise is being canceled (in this case a loud old ac). I will say that these headphones are less comfortable than the XM3 over prolonged listening sessions. I find myself experiencing minor ear lobe discomfort, and I have been adjusting the headphones position to try and find the sweet spot. I have yet to eliminate the discomfort entirely but comfort improved after the first week. These headphones clamp slightly harder than expected. It is noticeable but it is not too much pressure in my opinion. Lastly, I notice the ear cups show grease from my skin very easily. I don’t consider myself greasy and I haven’t noticed this with other headphones. It is not a big deal right now but I worry that it will become a problem after years of use. I’m hoping to use these for 5 years or more!

I love these noise-cancelling headphones. I had the X5 and upgraded to the X6. Both were purchased from my favorite store-Best Buy! These headphones are phenomenal. I bring them along each time I travel. I really get good sleep on a plane as it shuts off the noise really well. I have a huge head but they fit perfectly!

Hands down the best headphones I’ve ever had! Sounds even better when you use the EQ from the app, and they work perfectly from my iPhone! I use these all day and the battery typically lasts for 3 days 10/10 Sony created perfection

I had the previous generation Sony WH-1000XM5s, and the XM6s have only improved on those already amazing headphones. These news ones have a larger headband, meaning that they distribute the weight better on your head, resulting in a more comfortable experience. Additionally, the padding on the ear cuffs was made a bit thicker, and for me, that surprisingly personally made a big difference in my experience. The sound quality also gets a sizable upgrade. Sony redesigned the drivers and vocals sound clearer, individual instruments in songs sound more crisp, and you the bass sounds more natural and less muddy than the previous generation. The noise cancelation is also shockingly better. Lastly, the carrying case is a small but much welcomed upgrade. Smaller and more convenient, the case now uses a strong magnetic clasp to stay shut opposed to a zipper. It means in 5 seconds, you can go to taking the carrying case out of your bag and have them on your head turned on. Overall, these headphones are well worth it if you’re looking for the best of the best on the market in terms of sound quality, comfort, and portability. Would easily recommend to anyone looking for a new pair of quality and premium headphones.

Amazing! Pretty pricey, I purchased mine for around $450 USD, but they are so worth it. TLDR - Expensive, but very well worth the price! I took them on a 16 hour plane flight, and I could not hear a single sound of the plane over my music/movie. The battery life is amazing, lasts for multiple days on a full charge and lots of use. I was able to sleep well with them because of the ANC (Active Noise Cancelling.) The ANC is truly amazing. Sony claims that it cancels out around 80% of sound when active, and I would agree with that! The cancellation is just stunninf, and the passthrough mode is perfect for wearing on public while still needing to be aware of your surroundings. Furthermore, there are three modes - normal (standard headphones), background (with three different settings) and cinema (enhanced SFX.) I love cafe for just being around the house doing things, because if someone comes up to me I can easily talk to them without having to do anything. The standard mode with ANC is perfect for studying and really getting things done. Overall, really great headphones! Very travel friendly, very compact, really love them.

Real BEST SOUND CANCELLATION EVER and the battery is insanely amazing. I turned the headphones on at the LAX airport, used it the entire time all the way to Dublin (over 11hrs flight) and when I arrived I still had over 70% battery!!!

My AirPods Pro’s started dying on me and I wanted to upgrade to over ear headphones, I was considering the AirPod max’s to stay in the eco system but I was turned off by the fact that they haven’t updated much besides adding USB C, and I read some reviews saying they failed after a year or 2 of constant use. I ended up deciding on the XM6’s after many hours of research comparing the 2. The moment I put these headphones on I fell in love! They’re insanely comfy, I can wear them all day without any fatigue, additionally the battery will last me all day with consistent use. They’re extremely light but they don’t feel cheap (great gym headphones), sound quality is superb and noise canceling is top tier. I do enjoy the transparency mode, but it almost works too good, as if you had hearing aids in! It also comes with the best case on the market, the case is durable and compact for traveling. The one draw back I have noticed is the dual Bluetooth connection. I have noticed that it can get hung up on some devices and will not switch over when needed, firmware updates do take awhile, and your ears can get warm if you’re active while using them, however I have worn these headphones for a few 8 hour work days without any discomfort. One other potential drawback is in some places in New York City, I’ve noticed audio drop outs when my phone was in my pocket. I also had this happened on my AirPod pros, but not as jarring. I would give them a perfect score but those issues can be quite annoying for some people. Definitely a 9/10 for me and a bonus is that Best Buy price matched to their Black Friday sale price. I originally bought these on the 11th, and now with the sale they’re even cheaper. I got an additional $30 off. Thanks Best Buy!

After about a month in, buying the XM6 is one of the best upgrades I've done from the Bose 700. This headphones may have not blown me away once I tried listening then out of the box but once you check out their Sound Connect App, you can literally have so many options to stabilize or even change the EQ if the headphones which blows me away of how clean and well-hearing they are. This may not be audiophile quality but it slightly getting there though. But overall it's a fun, best sounding headphones that comes with the best Noise-Cancelling headphones as of right now.

I really like these headphones for a few reasons. The touch haptic controls make it easy to adjust the volume, and the swipe gestures for changing music are super convenient. Not only do they sound great, but the noise canceling is also excellent — it really helps drown out background sounds. Overall, I’d give them a solid A- (9.5/10).

One of the hinges broke on my Sony - WH1000XM5's. I had planned to purchase the new upgraded Sony - WH1000XM6's on Black Friday 2025 but I purchased them earlier instead. In my opinion, these are the best Sony noise cancellation headphones to date. I only wear them when I am watching my Samsung S95 OLED 4K Smart Television and the sound quality is awesome. It's like being at the movies watching HBO/MAX, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Starz, Showtime, & MGM+.

This is the best headphone ever! So good on the ear and the sound is like in studio. I highly recommend!

The XM6’s are the best headphones I’ve ever used, the noise canceling is superb and justify the near 500 dollar price tag, as they nearly block out every noice you can find. The noise canceling cycle is also quite nice when I run they change modes allowing for satisfying noise reduction and production. They are also quite good in the gym as well, and are surely one of the best workout headphones as they are truly hard to have fall, overall the BEST headphones I could ask for.

Great noise cancellation. Comparable to AirPods Max. I wouldn’t recommend taking headphones like these to a humid / wet environment. Be mindful that the pressure of headphones can feel uncomfortable after long periods of use. The features this headset makes this a great option for individuals wanting customized listening experience. I’ve tested these with laptops, and my iPhone, these sound great on all different sources of input.

If you’ve never heard a bassoon concerto through the Sony XM6, you haven’t really heard a bassoon concerto. These headphones take an instrument that already lives in that gorgeous twilight zone between melancholy and mischief and elevate it into something almost cinematic. They turned every concerto into a private performance, every phrase into a moment, every cadenza into a small spiritual awakening!! These are worth it from a classical music lover!

It's been a while since I've ever heard such amazing sounding headphones. The quality is crisp and the noise cancellation is beyond incredible. Over the years Sony has constantly kept improving on their over the ear headphone range and this model is the epitome of that evolution! Thank you, Sony ❤️
