We compared them to another Sony model and the top Bose and found these to be far superior in both ambient noise reduction and overall sound quality. In the noisy holiday shopping Best Buy store these performed excellent allowing us to hear all of the small details in the sample music without any extra coloring of the sound like some with "extra bass".
