These are the the best headphones ever!!! Great sound and great noise canceling... totally worth it.

We were looking for noise cancelling headphones, but were planning on spending much less until we tried these. We compared them to another Sony model and the top Bose and found these to be far superior in both ambient noise reduction and overall sound quality. In the noisy holiday shopping Best Buy store these performed excellent allowing us to hear all of the small details in the sample music without any extra coloring of the sound like some with "extra bass".

The noise cancelling feature works really well. The quality of sound is very good with rich bass. Well constructed. They are a little heavy and could be a bit louder but very happy with the purchase.

Best headphones ever owned. Have also given as gift and they were very well received.

Love these! Only set back is using them on the computer to do Skype meetings. It does NOT work plugged in for the microphone part! Sound is Amazing though. Too bad I had to exchange them out.

With seven Bluetooth headphones from different brands, my experience had been subpar due to limitations that affected the sound quality. Noise canceling only made the experience worse. Being an audiophile, I get dissatisfied quickly if the music I am listening to sounds less than impeccable but once I tried the Sony 1000XM2 I was a convert. I will refrain myself from comparing this with the other two good and popular headphones that were released this year. If I did compare, the 1000XM2 would easily be the winner, especially in the noise-canceling department although I have not had a chance to review the other two in depth other than trying them at the store. Still, that was enough for me. This Sony sounds superb for a wireless headphone. Actually, quality over Bluetooth sounds just as good as wired does with a slight difference: it is a bit louder when wired but not that significant. The air pressure sensor is a killer feature in my opinion. It adapts to all environments and gives you an amazing experience when flying aboard an airplane. It is incredibly comfortable and you can have it for hours on your ears without having a headache like other headphones. At least that was my experience. The noise canceling capability is probably the strongest available in the market and it picks up almost no wind noise. Touch control is another feature that is easy to fall in love with. Your hands on the ear cup will lower the volume of your music and use the microphone for conversation with people without removing the headset. Slide you fingers up or down and the volume will increase or decrease. Slide them forward or backward and the next or previous song will play. No buttons that you can never remember where they are. A welcome and stellar ambient sound control gives you the ability to hear important sounds while you are listening on the move. You surely do not want to miss important announcements, especially at airports. It has a sound position control that gives you the option to choose the sound to come from whatever direction you want as if you had speakers that you could move around you. That is not important to me but it may be for many people out there. If I were to complain about something, I would say that not being able to pair with multiple devices at the same time is a bit disappointing because Sony decided to use Bluetooth 4.1 instead of 4.2 or 5. The other two competing products can do that but I still prefer the 1000XM2. In addition, the headband is made of plastic while I’d prefer metal but as long as it lasts, I’m not worried about it because it makes it lighter. However, Sony did an outstanding job with everything else. Again, the most important thing to me is sound quality and this headphone does not disappoint. It even upscales your compressed music files but I must admit that I am extremely impressed with all the other features too. They all work remarkably well, especially if you use the app. Battery charge easily lasts a day of heavy use or a few days if you use it sporadically. This Sony headset definitely raises the bar for the entire wireless headphone industry. Great job, Sony!
