I'm comparing this phone to a galaxy⁸+ this phone died on me in under a month 1/2. From having 40% battery it just started making a screeching noise for about a 2 seconds and died. Now the camera is very poor ,it has a low light issue which is compensated with software after the picture is taken that's ok..but when you use it on a banking app. It's hard to get a good pic for deposit. Its very slow at charging considering this 2 years newer. At time the phone is very very slow although no apps are running. The way the the way the rear camera sticks make it one of the first things to get easyly scratched.

I bought this device at Apr. 23. At first, it works OK, albeit sometimes slow, the device functionally worked. I even bought new cases and screen protectors prepare to use this phone for the next one or two years. However, after the first system update, the device stop working. The SIM card does not recognize and I have to reboot the system to make sure the SIM card works. At the same day, the TF card stop recognizing. So I have to contact the sony service center to ask for repair. I send this device out at May 27. Yes, I use this device one month, and it stop working. Because of the COVID-19, I got no reply since then, I thought I was deceived. But, thankfully, after several times of email and contact the sony service center, I got the repair updated. The funny thing is that they said they are waiting for some necessary parts for repair my device, and the shipping might take few weeks. After one month, I have to contact the sony service center and the repair service several times again for update. And, they tell me they cannot fix it, since the part is not available. I do not know who is answering me that, but the previous agency said the shipping of the part need about one month. I feel deceived again. Thankfully after painstakingly email and chatting. they agree to give a refund through a check. Since this is the final process of the repair service, I will only need to waiting for the check. again ont month passes, I still did not got the refund. I asked the sony service again, they said they will seeking for the check, and contact me further. Today is Aug 27. From Apr. 23, 4 month of trouble, the worst device I have ever bought! I am still not sure that if there is any possible that I could got my money back! In the future, I will never buy any Sony phones. This is a flag here for me as a reminder.

I received this cell phone with defective audio, other end only hear me a less than a minute and don't hear my voice after that. I call Sony on the phone, they asked to perform test it fail 2times, but they insisted to send phone in to evaluate and see if they can fix it and return back. I have paid for a full price and expect a good working phone. This is really bad customer relations. I will report this to BBB.

This first time I got disappointed using Sony cell phone. I was very happy at the beginning because of stylish look and fair price but soon it became my frustration. Total sound system i.e, Speaker, microphone and volume button performances were terrible. People can't hear me properly unless I put the microphone in front of my mouth and speaker volume goes extremely low without any reason and become normal again after restarting.

Sony web site mentioned that it is a dual SIM and forwarded to Bestbuy and I bought it. BestBuy doesn't sell dual SIM phone, but When I returned it , they charged restock fee , even though it is not my fault.

I enjoyed my time with sony for phones. There very easy to use and I love the 21:9 ratio but that doesn't help when every Sony phone I have bought the battery has died on me and I had multiple.

First off, let me open with how excited I was to be chosen to review this phone based on the dynamic products that Sony, a pioneer in entertainment produces. However, I quickly deflated based on the AWFUL performance of this phone. I will elaborate on aspects of the phone’s performance that were troubling to me: Setup- After unpacking the phone which came in a standard box with a few informational packets, the phone itself, and proprietary charger, I began to setup the phone which took 3 tries. It proved to be a daunting task when trying to copy information from my Motorola phone to the Experia. Phone Calls-Initially when calling and accepting of calls, I experienced clear communications; however, today when I talked it was made known to me that communications weren’t clear. Performance-As of yesterday, there is an obtrusive interference that frequently comes in informing me that I need to update to the latest version of Android. However, I am updated to the latest version of Pie. I input my IMEI number, which informed me that I was up to date with the latest version of Pie which is 53.0.A.4.79. Apps are beginning to freeze up followed by a message that says, “Xperia isn’t responding!” Moreover, when I place the phone down, it starts to spin unrelentless! Battery life-Seemingly battery life dissipates fast on this phone. Unfortunately, the phone isn’t going through a day without needing a charge. Display-I have experienced where the display lighting goes in and out. Sometimes, it appears to be light then it will fade into darker lighting. Texting-is something that I do on a regular. Unfortunately, because of the uneven lighting, it causes problem when texting as I cannot see clearly. Youtube Videos- I was excited about viewing of Youtube videos; however, it has not been an enjoyable experience because of the obtrusive interference that comes into the phone frequently which prevents me from enjoying and/or doing things. I am going to continue to try this phone out for possibly a few more days, if an update hasn’t taken place that will vastly improve performance, then it doesn't leave any viable option, but to turn back to my Motorola G5 plus, which has served me extremely well. Needless to say, in good consumer faith, I cannot recommend this phone until a serious software update takes place that will correct these arduous problems!!

After a couple of months the phone start doing whatever it wanted to do jump from site to site without me touching it. I could be watching something all of a sudden the object would get real big one word or picture would take up the hold screen. Calls drops all the time, I would have it on lock and it would still make calls without my knowledge. The good thing about this phone is the large size screen. Took it back and was told I couldn't get another phone 14 days was up but I could send it off and they would send me a refurbish same phone. I decided to keep this junk and deal with it till I pay it off. I feel Sony need to stick with TV.

    Slow. Constantly Crashes. Poor Support.

I know this isn't a high end phone, noted, but you'd expect a much better quality from Sony given that this is mid range priced device. Here's why this is a low star review: You're lucky if the battery lasts you half a day with mild use. The sensor that detects if it's close to your face never works and makes your face dial random numbers or hang up on calls. No VR support and poor sensors GPS sensor is horrible and is constantly off by a significant distance and direction. Tereibly slow, even if you have a small number of apps active. Constantly crashes, forcing you to reboot the phone. The camera is horrible and slow, snap a picture and three seconds later it actually snaps it. Horrible low lighting support. Buy something else at this price.
