Camera distortion issuePosted
Before writing this review I contacted Bestbuy and Sonymobile because I thought they would give me the best way to solve this problem. Bestbuy told me to call Sony because the return policy expired (only 14 days in a smartphone) and Sony told me, after I sent my cellphone to their repair team, and they keep it for almost 30 days, just to tell me "no issues found". Having said that, here is the issue this phone has (it is not only my cellphone, just google "XZ camera distortion"). After I took some photos I noticed a wavy effect all the way across the image, lines that are supposed to be straight are curved, check the images that I added to this review (try to use full screen to have better view of the distortion) and think about what this issue causes to faces and bodies, I took photos of my son too, where his forehead looks bigger than normal or his legs shorter depending on where the target is located on the photo, the only spot where the image is not distorted is at the center of the lens. The reason why I gave only one star to this review is because I bought a more than 600 dollars smartphone that has an issue that neither Bestbuy nor Sony wanted to do something that really solved this issue. This cellphone has a good performance, but it is an expensive smartphone, all its features should be good (its battery last less than in previous versions). If you buy this cellphone that I do not recommend, immediately after you receive it take some close up photos from people and straight objects and check if has any distortion before your return policy expires (remember only 14 days of purchase). Big companies should worry a bit more about satisfying their customers and not just about acquiring large amounts of money.
