This movie is created from a scene in Fantasia where Mickey Mouse created mayhem with a wizard’s magical hat. Although there is no Mikey Mouse in this film, that iconic scene is. Disney did a great job bringing to life an apprehensive apprentice to stop the end of the world. There’s lots of humor and sarcasm as expected in any movie Jay Baruchel is in. This is a great movie for kids 10 and up only because there is some adult humor and scenes little ones might find too scary. All and all a wonderful film you will watch again and again.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice is another Disney movie based on slim premise (a la Pirates of the Caribbean), yet it manages to surpass that source into a highly entertaining movie that bears repeat watching. A sorcerer needs ("needs" is a strong word - more like prophesied about so might as well make the best of it) an apprentice. The odd pairing of Nicholas Cage (in good crazy mode) and Jay Baruchel as the don-t-wanna-be apprentice make for comedy gold. The end of the world as we know it is at hand. Just watch. It's tons of fun!

I REALLY liked this one. It was done very well, and the action and acting really kept you going to the end. Toss in the mixture of a love story, modern science and being something different from other movies you see, and it is enough to get you started. The acting and special effects keep it going, and a good ending wraps it up nicely! Wonder what the next part will look like!
