I love music movies, especially recording related ones. This was a great documentary on the legendary Van Nuys studio. RIP Sound City

This doc was better than I expected, and I expect a lot from Dave Grohl! Turn your sound up to 11 and enjoy!

If you like the history of music. This is a great show

This is a great documentary for any music fan. It gives you a great behind the scenes view of how some of rock and roll's greatest albums were made - and the common thread that they have - Sound City. If you've ever had the chance to record in a studio, then this doc will mean even more to you. Some people might be bored by talk of getting a great drum sound, but not me. If you agree, then you need to see Sound City.

Seems like everything Dave Grohl touches turns to gold and this is an amazing example. There is so much history covered, so much information, that you have to watch multiple times to see it all. Sound City was an important part of music, and it's sad to see it gone. But, it will live on in this video. Don't miss the extras!! I have recommended this DVD to several of my friends and they agree. . . it's the best!

I accidentally posted my review of this blu-ray on my purchase of the cd, so look there for my write up on the film. All I would add is I wish they had included the show the Sound City Players had performed either at Sundance or at the Hollywood Palladium as a bonus feature. As for the CD, the songs are great - especially the collaborations with Rick Springfield and Paul McCartney.

This movie does an awesome job reviewing the history of a very influential recording studio. It's cool to see how the behind the scenes work and all the craziness that goes into making a record. Along the way you'll also be educated about the music industry and learn about the negative impacts of digital media. A must see for fans of good music!!

This is an awesome Bluray movie/documentary/music video. If you like any of the artist from Nirvana to Fleetwood Mac to Tom Petty and all kinds of rock in-between you will love this. It is great! Dave Grohl is a genius and it shows and I'm so glad he put this together and you must get the sound track to this on CD. The songs and artist on it are great.

This is hands down the best Rockumentery that has been done. Dave Grohl has done an outstanding job writing and directing this jewel of a story about a recording landmark and the star a Neve mixing board. A must for anyone who truely loves Rock & Roll............

A must see for true fans of rock and roll. Great stories aboput classic albums from the people who made, produced, and recorded them . Then there are all the great jams in the 2nd half! MUST SEE!!!

Was excited to get this. Excellent movie. Way more albums recorded at Sound City than I realized. Is there anything Dave Grohl can't do?

Loved this story of the legendary recording studio in LA, Sound City. Such iconic music came from there. Dave Grohl did a terrific job with the project. Amazing music.

A great film about a great place with great people. I only wish I could have been involved with a place like that, surrounded by all the talent from that era.
