I really like this speaker. It is perfect for the party on the go! It is easy to use and sounds great!
Right out of the box, I knew I was going to like this speaker. It has a good size and I love the fact that it has a carry handle. Little things make big differences. Setting it up was easy. Downloading the app was a breeze and pairing a snap. It's easy to like products that work properly. The charge lasts a very long time and we do not have problems disconnecting when you walk away from it.
Which brings me to the sound!! My #1 complaint about bluetooth speakers is that they do not get loud enough for groups. They are fine when everything is quiet and you can listen, but in a party setting they just don't seem to cut the mustard on the whole. That's where this speaker wins the day for me. It gets LOUD!! The sound quality is very good. You can also pair it with many more speakers!! These things are great as you can have a party any size as long as you have enough speakers!!!

I had no clue Anker can outperform name brands like Sony, HK, JBL even Bose. I’m over impressed with this sound piece. It’s got THE BASS if I can say. No speaker this size and price has the sound and specifically the Bass this one has. This’ll be a keeper indeed.

Anker Soundcore lineup lately has been hitting it out of the park with their Flare and Party series of speakers. Rave Neo is an impressive speaker that is ready to shine on a sunny or rainy day at the park.
Some of the key features are:
An IPX7 rating means it can handle a dunk on the swimming pool.
Party Cast Technology allows you to connect up to 100 Soundcore speakers that are party cast compatible.
Up to 18hrs of battery life
LED light show in the front.
Bass Up technology and up to 98db of loudness. This speaker has no problems pushing your music outdoors and especially indoors.
USB Type C charging and the ability to charge your phone.
Bluetooth 5.0
Aux Input
50watts
Build Quality:
It’s a solidly built speaker encased in hard plastic weighing around 7lbs. Anker conveniently included a carrying strap. On the front, the woofer, tweeter, and LED’s are protected by the mesh speaker grill. The back has a slight opening to allow the passive radiator to breathe. The USB C port and Aux input are protected by a rubber plug.
Soundcore App:
If you want to take advantage of everything that Rave Neo offers I highly suggest you download the app. Some of the features you get are firmware updates, change the pattern of the lights or turned them off, and change the equalizer settings. Anker does include 3 default equalizer settings to choose from.
Outdoor increase the mid-range so the music can still be heard through the crowd noise.
Indoor increases the bass but cuts down on the mid-range for a more balanced sound accompanied by a nice punchy bass.
Bang increases the mid-range and bass.
There is an option to dial in your own equalizer settings but for whatever reason Anker insists you create a free account to be able to save them.
As for the LEDs besides 3 default patterns to choose from ( Full Moon Party, Neon City, and Jazz Bar). Each one has the option of picking the color and light pattern from rotation to radiation effect. As for the fun stuff you have something called Light DJ and Party Games.
Party Games is just a digital spin the bottle that can be fun for example if you’re playing a truth or dare game.
Light DJ allows you to take control of the strobe lights flashing and color. You also get 4 sound effects which are scratches, Get Ready voice, Drum 1, and Drum 2 beats. It’s basic but still cool to mess around with especially with the strobe lights if you’re at a rave party.
Sound Quality:
Without the BassUp turned on the sound comes across flat. Turned on the BassUp and now the music sounds alive with a punchy bass that the Rave Neo is able to reproduce. At my small apartment, it filled the entire living room with music with the volume being around 50%. Anything higher most likely I would of have had my neighbors complaining. Outdoors the bass is not as strong as an indoor setting but still loud enough to enjoy the music even in a loud environment. Once you start to compare it to speakers that can match what the Rave Neo is able to put out you quickly start to see how much more you have to spend right around almost twice the cost in some instances 3x of what the Rave Neo retails for. Out of all the Bluetooth speakers I’ve owned over the years I don’t recall any of them being able to match the output power of the Rave Neo around this price point. It’s not the clearest speaker out there but it’s the one that can fill a packed room with some loud music.
Overall:
Like I said earlier Anker has done an amazing job on their current speakers out in the market. Being able to hit the important notes like sound quality and loudness along with some extra features at a very competitive price point. They could of easily skimp out on features like lack of IP rating but they didn’t. At this price point, it’s a steal. Bravo Anker can’t wait to see what you do with the next version.

This is not a speaker you’ll throw in your bag. It’s substantial—weighs 7lbs—but it’s easy to carry with the built in handle and the battery life is amazing! Our main will be by the pool this summer, but we used it at the fire pit over the holidays, and the sound is great. The larger size of the speaker allows delivery of rich bass and loudness. No stereo separation, but good enough and substantial enough to warrant a purchase in this price range. It’s kettle ball, with handle. The lights are bright and automatically sync with the music you play. Download the app to tweak those settings. More than one device can be connected via blue tooth, which is great for having doubled the music to choose from. Connection is easy Bluetooth, and you can charge devices with the speaker. The speaker itself will go for two parties at least without a need to charge. One of the biggest draws is that it is waterproof to include submersion! Not just splash proof, you can drop it in the pool and rescue it without worry it will be ruined!

this speaker packs a punch for sure. overall pretty fun speaker to have. has a handle which is a nice touch.
it lights up and you can some what customize the colors and do some fun things as long as you download the app. not all the best in this category though to be honest. you have 5 themes basically and then 3 multi color choices within each one. and then you have 2 pattern choices to choose from. it does have a dj color mode where you can select from 8 colors. downside is doing this mode you only can have 1 color of your choice and then white. but while in dj mode you can also do some sound effects. there are 22. app also has a game setting. basically spin the bottle, a wheel that you can add up to 10 players, says truth or dare but its just a wheel, and spins and then lands on players. we do a movie nite, and have 6, so we set it to that and go youngest to oldest for the wheel as it only does player 1, player 2, etc. you cant add names. downside is that each player has a color, and when the wheel lands on a player, it does not light up that color. would love to see the lights kind of mimic the wheel and then light up the color with the winners color. it also has a category game so it lands on a player and has a question and that person has 5 seconds to answer. again you are only allowed to add or subtract the amount of players. this mode is from 3-10 players the other modes are 2-10. if you do 2 players and up to 4 then each player would have multiple spots on the wheel. 4 players each has 2. downside is the colors are different. so 4 players and player 1 would have lets say orange as 1 color and then purple as their other color.
sound does pretty well and for the price range. even at max with my iphone it was pretty loud and could still hear the songs playing.
it was easy to get going and easily connected to my phone. there is a usb port on the back, one is a usb a and the other usb c. the usb c is to charge the device. the usb a, you can plug in your phone charger to and it will charge your phone. downside, have to turn the speaker on for it to charge.
its water proof so that is always a plus, so you can use it at a beach or other places that water is close and not worry.
battery life is great. i had it on all nite (about 8 hours) and it was at about half way. you can check battery with the app.
you dont have to get the app to have it work. but you wont get all the extra futures. so i do suggest having the app.
one thing i did really like as well with this speaker. i have a lot of other bluetooth speakers. i live in a apt. if i walk around with my phone or leave my phone in my room for instance and walk around with other speakers, when i get into my front room and kitchen, they seem to disconnect or get distorted like they are about to disconnect. with this speaker, i did not run into that at all. i did not fully max out the range with this, but just with other bluetooth speakers we have, as well as headsets i use for gaming. this never cut out in my apt. were as all of my other bluetooth devices do.
a couple things that i would like to see change. i dont see it enough to give a 4 star for though.
the charging cord is short. being its a speaker and some might use for a bit i would have like to see a decently long cord. yes it last a while on a charge, but for those times you might have forgot to charge it, or just did not have time to charge.
like i mentioned with the app. i am hoping they can update the app to eventually have more choices. how the lights work, seems like they are RGB, so more options to be able to change the light colors, like more light color options, and even having your own custom themes you can create that you dont have to be in dj mode for would be nice. maybe even more sound effects. and like i said, when you do the game modes for spinners light up for the player that wins.
it would be nice to either turn off sound effects when you power it on, off and while it connects to bluetooth etc. or even just turn it down. it would have also been nice to have a button on it, or when it turns on to say were the battery is at for those who might not have the app.
it would also be neat, to maybe some how find a way that you could use the mic on your phone and have that then project out of the speaker. not sure how possible this is, or if it can even do that with software updates to the app. but if not, maybe for a future model. but for those who might not want to yell, or being that you can connect multiple speakers.
overall like i said, i am happy with this. its loud, fun to use, has a good range in my apt. i am hoping that some of the things i would like to see better can be fixed with app updates. if not, well its already a fun, great speaker. those would just make it that much better.

Whether in my car, in my office or just hanging out, I typically have music on whenever possible. I truly enjoy it and obviously quality sound makes it that much better.
First, out of the box, I was happy that the battery was more than half full and I was able to start playing around with it right away. Connecting to Bluetooth on my laptop, tablet and phone was easy as expected. Prior to downloading the app, I started streaming songs from my devices and was immediately impressed with the quality of the sound. The bass was solid and you could feel it coming from the speaker even without having the volume up too high. The highs and lows are also noticeable and good quality.
After using it a bit, downloading the app and customizing the eq, etc. I charged it and it definitely gets my nod for best battery life in a portable speaker of this size to this point. I’m on about 15 hours over three days and it still shows as having about ½ remaining.
The lights on the speaker are a very nice feature and have a couple of different settings to change colors and patterns. My son has put it down in the basement where he has LED lights that go to the beat of the music. Adding this speaker to the mix has been fun with the lights also pulsing to the beats around the room with the speaker at the center of it.
It comes with a USB-C charging cable which is helpful since most technology is heading that way. The back ports are covered with a rubber cover that creates a good seal in case it gets wet or falls into the water completely. Additionally, there is a USB port to be able to charge another device while using the speaker and of course an auxiliary plug for older devices or to use without Bluetooth. It says you can link up to 100 of these together and although, I won’t have a need for that many of them, I am considering adding another one to the basement to create a good surround sound environment that would come from each corner of the room.
For the price, size and portability of this speaker, I am hugely impressed and would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to add sound to your environment.
