I decided to buy this a as gift for my dad. I'm hoping he loves it.

Southland was a great show. I really hate it was cancelled.

I can't believe they cancel the show.....but the earlier seasons were the best.

Not bad but there were only 7-8 episodes in the first season.

As a police officer myself (not in L.A.) I can really relate to some of the emotions that the actors portray. This show is a great change of pace from the typical C.S.I. and Law & Order shows. This really shows what cops in a big city go through daily. Great show for any cop and for anyone else!

I missed the first season and got interested on some of the reruns. It was great to be able to see the whole season before the 2nd season started. I was a gift to my husband for his birthday, chosen from his list

No really, this is the best show on television so do yourself a favor and watch it. The characters are amazing, the acting superb and the writing is so crisp it snaps. There isn't a character on this show I don't like and Regina King's Det. Lydia Adams might be the best female character on TV and she should totally get an Emmy. This is a tremendous show, pick up Season One and then watch the new season, you won't be disappointed.

Southland is a great show. It successfully blends the stories of the L.A. street and of the characters into one terrific ride. Worth a watch!

This is a great dvd set of season one. I can't wait for the other season to be put out. loved the show they should have kept on the air.

This show has everything you could want in a police show. Realism, darkness, grittiness. It's great.

I recommend watching the whole series. I did it twice.
