Mel Brooks in 4K!!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The classic Mel Brooks Star Wars parody looks the best it has ever looked on 4K UHD. It has a layer of film grain on it, so grain haters beware, but it looks as close to a projection of the actual film reel in a theater as you are likely to get. It far surpasses any previous DVD or blu-ray release.

Great fun from a Sci-Fi Parody Film
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Spaceballs is a fantastic film for Sci-Fi / Fantasy lovers' collection. It is mostly comedy with puns best understood by people who are familiar with other flix (especially Star Wars IV,V,VI). Pros: This DVD version was from the bargain bin, and as such is quite a good deal. Quality was superb compared to the original VHS releases. Cons: Though, true collectors/fans should probably opt for the Blu-Ray edition. There is also a Mel Brooks film collection Blu-Ray that includes Spaceballs as well as other classics such as Young Frankenstein and Robin Hood: Men in Tights that would be a better deal if pursuing some of the other films.

All of the DIRECTORs films & MUSICALs GREAT!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is probably one of the most blatant and EARLY RIP-OFFS of Star Wars not counting BATTLESTAR GALACTICA 1978 and the original V Miniseries. Both of those TV specials/series got sequels and reboots. Making this film one of the FEW CLASSICS of the genre. Hopefully it will continue to AGE well! Blazing Saddles and History of the World Part 1 are my favorites but definitely R rated humor. Family Guy creator did a better job with their Sequels and in-jokes for MODERN teens and fans of SETH McFARLAND's humor.

A classic that is still funny today!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This movie is an absolute classic and is more quotable than ever with the resurgence in all the new star wars' movies. The Blu ray has many great behind the scene interviews as well which I had never seen before. Plus, you can't beat all of this for 5 dollars. I highly recommend buying the physical version over digital since this is one of those movies if you buy it on Itunes it won't appear on other streaming platforms like movies anywhere. Which was a main reason i purchased this blu ray.

Parody at it's Best!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Spaceballs is perhaps the best Sci-fi spoof of all time. With nods at Star Wars, Star Trek, Planet of the Apes, it really spoofs nearly every big Sci-fi movie ever, dating pre 1987 ("...they've gone to plaid!"). Mel Brooks plays the "Star Wars Yoda" who is the guardian of the Schwartz and is also heavily into Spaceballs Merchandising, Rick Moranis, is the "Darth Vader" spoof, Dark Helmet, and Bill Pullman is the Lonestar, the "Hero", with his trusted side kick, Chewbacca spoof, Barf (John Candy). Although I have heard it called unfunny and lame by others, I think it is a very funny movie and deserves to be watched not only by Sci-fi fans, but by anybody looking for a good laugh.

Spaceballs in 4K!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love Mel Brooks. Always have, Always will. Spaceballs is on the lower end of the spectrum as far as my favorites of his go. That being said, I jumped at the chance to own the UHD. It really is the best this movie has ever looked, and if you want to see and hear this movie in all of it's goofy glory, just buy it!

Blu-ray is fine too.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely a fun comedy by a legend him self. Mell Brooks. Interesting how they spooofed on everything and the Star Wars saga with absolute respect yet in a funny way. I enjoyed it. My favorite part was in the desert. The ridiculously large column combing the surface of the desert. That was a clever joke.

The best just got better!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Alright, if you are not hip to Mel Brooks' style of comedy, get...your...stuff...TOGETHER! This is probably the greatest of his movies and an absolute Masterpiece! The 4K restoration was very well taken care of and it really shows. If you enjoy this brand of silly comedy, this UHD release is definitely for you!

Spaceballs: The 4K ULTRA HD BLU-RAY!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What can I say? The movie is a classic comedy and always will be. The picture quality on both the 4K and Blu-Ray is phenomenal. You really notice a lot more fine details on this release over previous ones. Highly recommended for any fan of the film that wants the superior visual experience. May the Schwartz be with you!!!

Classic
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You just can't go wrong with Mel Brooks! I have had this on DVD for ages and it was definitely time to upgrade. My son is also a big Mel Brooks fan but his wife has not seen any of his movies so I bought them a copy as well. I picked up two copies of Robin Hood: Men In Tights and High Anxiety on this trip as well and was ECSTATIC to find the last. I have been looking for that one for ages!

Such a Fun Stupid Movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ahh, what can I say about Mel Brooks and the good old days before excessive and stifling political correctness ? Spaceballs is a silly spoof of Star Wars and doesn't pretend to be anything but that. Add some silliness back into your life if you've never seen it. And then go get Blazing Saddles, History of the World Part 1, Young Frankenstein and other Mel Brooks movies and put your righteous indignation aside and just laugh. He's an equal opportunity offender.
