Spartacus Gods of the Arena is a real good show. If you like the other Spartacus seasons you will like this too.

My wife and I stumbled into watching this series on Stars. I did not know much about Spartacus. The whole series is a great intrepretation of what has been documented in history. The character development and strory are very compelling. You will want more and more! I loved it so much, I had to buy it! Gods of the Arena is actually the 2nd season, but goes back in time before Spartacus arives. The actor that played Spartacus sadly was being treated for cancer during this season, thus the prequel. He ultimately died and a new actor came in to pick up the story where it left off. It is a little wierd of a transition at first and then you are sucked right back in to the story and the characters. One of the best series I have seen and I usually pick winners - Breaking Bad, The Wire, Game of Thrones, The White Queen, etc! Watch it, you'll love it! I am wondering what the watching experience would be to watch Gods of the Arena 1st, opposed to 2nd as it was originally played. I think it might actually be better, but I can not say for sure! Either way, you will not be dissapointed!

A fan of the film Gladiator should enjoy this series. This is acutally a prequel to Spartacus: Blood and Sand but released after that season. If you watch this (Gods of the Arena) first and then Blood and Sand it will make more sense. Anywho, simple story line complicated with the major backstabbings, betrayals, and overall sexy violence throughout. Corny dialogues at times, but fun to quote! Also, friggin Lucy Lawless aka Xena the warrior princess is smoking hot in this series!

I got into this series when they put "Blood and Sand" on Netflix instant a couple years ago. This prequel season really helps to develop several of the main characters from "Blood and Sand." The background stories for Oenomaus and Crixus (especially the animosity between Crixus and Ashur from "Blood and Sand") really drive this short prequel series.

This movie gives you a close hand look at a Roman gladiator and what they go through to survive and fight in the arena. This is a personal story of one such man and his daily life and death stuggle. Plenty of blood and gore to go around.

I missed this when it showed on Starz, but I caught up through my on demand. I can't believe I missed this series the first time around...IT'S AMAZING! Storylines are strong, acting is strong, and the cinematagrophy/sets are superb.

Spartacus its a great show no matter what season you're watching, and gods of the arena in my opinion it's the second best season (the best one being the last) it tells you how everything started and gives you a better idea to understand the entire Spartacus plot although it's the second session of the show

This movie was great from start to finish. Action pack and great story line. Too short would of loved for it to be longer. I would totally recommend this movie to all.

This was a awesome series. I selected this by accident. I was hooked from the first series to the end. No other series after Spartacus compares. It is worth keeping.

Got to love it - Prequel to Spartacus: Blood and Sand, retelling the story of Gannicus - the original champion of the House of Batiatu

Get this whole collection it's well worth the journey loved the story ans how it builds out into a movement that changes everything

I don't watch a lot of TV, but never missed a show and sometime watched it twice in the same weekend. Excellent mini-series!!!!!!!

This was an awesome introduction to the history of Spartacus. It makes you want to watch the entire series.
