If grip is important to you, we'd like you to check out Presidio Perfect-Clear with Grips or Presidio2 Grip, both of which were designed with grippiness and hold in mind. Overall the case seems much thicker than I expected, or needs to be. The buttons on the case that cover the phone buttons are extremely stiff, making it hard to adjust the volume or power the device on/off, and nearly impossible to press the power and volume button at the same time for screenshots. The case looks alright and feels pretty good in the hand, though I do feel it’s made my mini a bit bulkier than I’d like.

Don't seem to have issues with hard to press buttons that others have described. The sides seem to have slightly more grip than the back. Haven't dropped the phone yet, so can't comment on the protection. Paid $20.00, then got a price match to $15.99 3 days later. 2 days outside the return/price match period, it's now $4.99 at Best Buy (which is probably as much as it's worth), but Best Buy can't/won't do anything.
