Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the Presidio Perfect-Clear Grip Case's excellent protection and secure grip, while also appreciating its clarity which showcases the phone's color. However, some users found the buttons difficult to press and the case challenging to install and remove. The case's weight and bulk were also points of contention for a few customers.

Great product except it's too glossy that it feels like your phone keeps slippong your hands. Still have a good grip.

Speck disappoints badly - Already returned

TLDR: The buttons are so hard to press, it made phone features, like double-clicking the power button to use Apple Pay, unusable. I've returned this case and urge you to take seriously the reviews that point out the problems with the buttons. Longer version: I've owned my fair share of Speck cases, and they're always at the top of my list when I need a new case for a phone. I immediately defaulted to a Speck for my first new phone in a few years, and that ended up being a mistake. I'm sure Speck's drop protection is still up to snuff, but other features, including the buttons, are a big problem. Other reviews talk about other aspects of this case - the grips aren't rubber anymore, the case is hard to get on, the back is pretty slick/slippery without the grips, and so on. The grips come across to me as an understandable design change because the older rubber versions did tend to rip; weirdly, though, because they're firm plastic, these grips made the phone/case combo annoyingly large to hold, though this is a big phone to start with. The case is hard to get on, but once it's on, it should stay on. The back is pretty slick, and without the grips, I suspect this case would cause me to be putting its drop protection ability to the test pretty often. The deal-breaker for me (see the TLDR) was the buttons, which are so hard to press they made phone features unusable. I’m a male, of at least average grip strength, and I had to squeeze *hard* on both sides of the phone to get either the power button or the volume buttons to work at all. In fact, the power button was so hard to press that Apple Pay was unusable; the power button couldn't double-click and instead turned off the phone, because it took so much effort to get even one click. I compared the buttons to a few other from competing brands, and they all worked just fine, right out of the box, exactly as you'd expect, or since we all have some personal preference on button action, they all worked well enough to use the phone's features. Maybe this is something that's supposed to break in over time? That other cases all work exactly as I'd expect makes me think not. I'm hard pressed to figure out whether they were a design flaw or a production flaw, but I can't imagine a focus group saying they were a good idea. Bottom line: The buttons made this case unusable, and I returned it. I'm happy with the (sadly, non-Speck) case I have now. Review ratings: I rounded down to a 1 overall since the actual problem of the buttons made the phone unusable to me. * Quality = 3 to balance the drop protection against the awful buttons. * Value = 2 to balance the drop protection against the awful buttons, but weighting the buttons more heavily because a phone with unusable features is pretty much a non-starter. * Ease of use = 1 since that's the whole point.

Really not to bad. I’m do feel it’s protecting my phone because I had tried it a few times already and my phone is perfectly fine. The only thing I dislike about it, Even though it have the grip lines to help with holding it, it’s still slippery and sometimes lives right out of my hands. But still recommend it because it does it’s job

This clear grip case for the iPhone 12 Pro Max works very well. It was easy to install and the button covers work well, with no problems. The case adds very little bulk and provides a much more secure grip when holding the phone. The depth of the case provides some protection for the otherwise projecting camera lenses, which is appreciated.

Solid protection I guess, but you need the power of Thor’s hammer to use the side buttons. Also find a friend with tiny hands to use the sound on/off switch in the side because it’s deeeeeeep in there.

We have had many brands of cases but Speck makes the best. The goal for us is to have a case which has enough grip so that you don’t drop it in the first place. The ridges on the side and soft plastic make it easy to manage and is ultimately great when you do drop it.

First off, as far as protection goes, this case is great. It is pretty difficult to put on and take off, but once it's on you can tell that your phone is protected very well. What I don't like is that it does not allow me to charge my iPhone 12 Pro Max via wireless on my iOtti AutoSense wireless dash mount. If I place my phone on the mount without the case on, it charges fine. Once I place the case on, wireless charging no longer works. This is very disappointing because having to take the phone out of the case every time I'm in my car is a major hassle because of how difficult it is to remove and place back on.

It is a rigid, thick, hard plastic clear case. It does have grooves on sides and back for grip but the material can still become slippery. The ridges on back of case can interfere with installation of a pop socket.

Good case, buttons are a bit stiff, but I still like it. It seems like they are breaking in so may not be a issue. The problem with all cases is they are over priced, but this one isn’t any more over priced than the others.
